T-Mobile Galaxy S9 and S9+ receiving software updates today

T-Mobile is wrapping up the week with a little something for Samsung Galaxy S9 owners.

The T-Mobile Galaxy S9 and S9+ are now receiving software updates. The Galaxy S9 is being bumped up to version G960USQS5CSEA, while Galaxy S9+ owners should be on the lookout for version G965USQS5CSEA.

Both updates include the June 1, 2019 Android security patches. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a dedicated Night Mode for the Camera app like the one that’s rolling out to the unlocked Galaxy S9 in other parts of the globe.

These updates are now rolling out over the air, and TmoNews readers have already gotten their phone’s update. You can check for the update manually by grabbing your S9 or S9+, launching the Settings app, and selecting “Software update” followed by “Download updates manually”.

Thanks, Casey, Mike, and What people call me!

  • Yet, they are dragging their feet with the LG V40 pie update.

That might be the only update u get with your Lg phone, what I have read on here Lg don’t give that many up dates to their phones.

      • That’s false, the V20 got updated to Nougat then Oreo and the V30 got updated to Oreo with Pie on the way. With this, we can expect the V40 to be updated to pie and Q. The V40 has already received pie on Verizon and AT&T Clearly it’s T-mobile that’s holding it back. They were the last to release Oreo to the V30 then they stopped it after about a week.

Nope. Still getting “network failed to connect” error. Confirmed that my unlocked S9 is on the T-Mobile network (USA). Same error as on the previous 2 updates since Feb 2019 (the last successful update for me).
