iOS 11.2.1 update now available for iPhone and iPad

iPhone and iPad owners, it’s time to update once again.

A week and a half after Apple surprised us on an early Saturday morning with iOS 11.2, the company has released iOS 11.2.1 at a more reasonable time.  The main feature of this update is that it addresses an issue that could disable remote access to shared users of the Home app. There are some other unspecified bug fixes thrown in there, too, says Apple.

To get the update, grab your iPhone or iPad and go into Settings > General > Software Update. Even if you’re not a Home app user, it’s smart to grab this update as soon as you can to ensure that you’ve got the latest bug fixes and security updates that Apple has available.

I’m never really sure whether I should be applauding or maligning Apple for their frequent updates. On one hand, quick updates are great. On the other hand, they wouldn’t have to update so frequently if they didn’t constantly release such buggy software…

To be fair, there’s always going to be software bugs with any platform.

Would you rather Apple go back to fixing bugs every few months or telling users that they are doing it wrong/provide a work around?

That gives users the illusion that there aren’t a lot of bugs…

Everything you said was pretty obvious. Of course there are bugs on every platform. My point was simply that Apple devices seem to have more on average, that’s all.

And what about my comment makes you think I would want Apple to update less frequently? I literally said, quick updates are great. You didn’t add anything to the conversation.

Hey man… Just stating the obvious because some people truly do not know. They may have never thought about the obvious or they may have just recently joined the Apple ecosystem.

Seriously, every update makes my battery life shorter and shorter. When I had 10.2 I could go all day now only half a day! This 6s Plus will be my last iPhone, cannot wait to get back to Android!

You should try out the Google Pixel 2 XL. The battery life on this thing is beyond amazing. With light-moderate usage I can go nearly 2 days with 5 – 6 hours of screen time. With heavy usage I can get about 8 hours of screen time.

Pixel 2 battery since getting 8.1 has been amazing…i really only charge it once every 14 hours under HEAVY usage and the camera blows away the iPhone

pixel 2 has about 100 other things wrong with it…

          What review are you reading?

The Pixel 2 had a quite of bit issues when released. Updates have improved it but it’s still a work in progress.

I have had zero issues. Camera is better than the Samsung and Apple
