T-Mobile Galaxy S8 and S8+ receiving updates with security patches

Looks like Bixby Voice isn’t the only goodie that T-Mobile Galaxy S8 customers are getting today.

T-Mobile is now pushing software updates to its versions of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. T-Mo says that they include a UMTS 911 update, and as you can see in the screenshot below, the July 1, 2017 security patches are included as well.

These updates are now rolling out and are around 130MB in size. If you’ve got a T-Mobile Galaxy S8 or S8+ and haven’t yet updated, you can either go to Settings > Software update > Download updates manually or just wait for the OTA update to come to you.

Thanks, Nguyen!

Yeah…they were a little behind on the one a few weeks ago but this should put us up to date with the rest of the world LOL

  • Yeah, I got mine done this morning…S8 here. Too bad we can’t get 7.1.1

I’m kind of curious now. This is the second security patch that didn’t get the enhancements that the unlocked versions did. The May security patch came with a Bluetooth fix that T-Mobile users never received. Now the July security patch doesn’t have the enhancements for the camera or the wireless charging.
