LG K7 and ZTE Falcon mobile hotspot both launching today

In addition to launching the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL with Windows 10, T-Mobile started selling two other new devices today.

First is the LG K7, an Android 5.1 smartphone with a 5-inch 854×480 display and quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor. Also included are 5-megapixel front and rear cameras, 8GB of storage that you can expand upon with a microSD card, 1.5GB of RAM, and a removable 2045mAh battery. The LG K7 will set buyers back $139.99, or $0 down, 23 payments of $5.84 each, and 1 payment $5.67.

Also available now is the ZTE Falcon, which actually arrived a couple of days earlier than previously announced. I’m sure most folks aren’t going to complain about being able to get a new device earlier than expected, though.

The ZTE Falcon is a 4G LTE mobile hotspot that supports up to 10 simultaneous device connections. It’s got support for UMTS 850/1700/2100/1900 and LTE bands 2, 4, and 12, as well as a 2000mAh battery. Pricing is set at $0 down, 23 payments of $3.34, and 1 payment of $3.17. The full retail price of the Falcon is $79.99.

Does the Kseries stand for Krappy? A quad-core 1.2GHz used to be entry level, now its even slower?

The Alcatel…XL also has the 210. But isn’t more RAM more important in these case, K7 with 1.5 and the XL with 2? Where other budget phones only have 1Gb of RAM.

Android device’s still need 2gb of ram and 16 gb internal to be a valued device or arrive stock 6.0 marshmellow that fuzes internal with micro sd card.

LG has a 16GB model of the K7, so it’s not their fault. I agree, that would have been better. But apart from that I believe 480p devices don’t need a lot of processor compared to the 720p and up phones.

People still expect to pay nothing for a high end device? This cater’s to those who refuse to spend money for a phone. If these new low entry device’s still leave a bitter taste try swappa.

Rip off. I’d rather get a Blu Vivo XL that has a 1.4ghz mediatek quad core with 2gb ram. Its normal price was $149 but presale was $99. Even a lumia 640 at $29 is better than this crap.

    This is trash.

T-Mobile does overprice budget and midrange phones, the Stylo for example, it’s $289 with T-Mobile if I’m not mistaken, when others have it for $129.

In a couple months we probably gonna see this phone at Wal-Mart or Best Buy for around 80 bucks. Metro has it for $50 after rebates. For those prices it’ll be a good phone.

t-mobile also has it for $50 after rebates.

Where, how? Not on the website, nor at the stores.

        • Andrew Singleton

gotta find a rep who knows their stuff. it’s 99 with prepaid activation and you can file for a $50 MIR. so, $50 final price.

          Great. Thanks for the info.

Tmobile’s version has a better camera, more RAM and more internal storage than the one that the cheaper prices reflect from Sprint, Virgin Mobile, & Boost.

GSM version – 13MP camera, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM
CDMA VERSION – 8MP camera, 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM

        Thus the price differences.

Not really,Metro has the same phone(the Stlylo)$129.00 after rebates, list price before $249.00,real price is $179.00 before mail in rebate,Walmart Family Mobile is $179.00 same phone, heck Walmart is still selling brand new Zmax, for $149.00 while Tmo is sell rebur.$149.00,also they are selling Zmax 2,$79.00(att phone)which for some reson Tmo never pick up.

the z915 is on sale for 89.95, the falcon has no display

i don’t really like my options for mobile hotspots for t-mobile. i thought about getting an unlocked verizon 6620, but it lacks the 1900 band

    • DMTG

I just put my order in for the Z-917 because it allows me to use an external antenna. I have a Samsung Hotspot Pro, which I loved… but it lacked some of TMO’s new bands.

Actually knowing some people they will complain lol

Honestly, with the deluge of $150 to $200 phones that are good to excellent coming out lately, I don’t know why T-mobile’s wasting it’s time with crappy phones like the K7. At the very least, it should have 16gb of storage at that price. 8gb is just criminal in this day and age.

Why not just go to Amazon and grab a ZTE Z Max 2 for $133 or a Blu Life One X for $150? The BLU has band 12 data at least, although probably not voice. The Zmax 2 has band 12 listed on there too.
