T-Mobile reveals Magenta Friday and Black Friday deals

tmobileblackfriday2

UPDATE 2: T-Mobile has clarified its clarification, saying that now anyone can activate on a Simple Choice plan and get two lines free, including new customers.

UPDATE: T-Mobile has clarified that the Magenta Friday offer of two lines free also applies to existing customers on Simple Choice plans. Here’s how the offer breaks down:

  • New customers: Switch to T-Mobile, sign up for 2 new voice lines on T-Mobile One and you get an additional 2 lines for free after bill credit.
  • Existing customers: If you currently have 2 voice lines (any Simple Choice voice plan or T-Mobile One voice plan is eligible), you can add up to 2 lines to your plan for free.
  • All lines must be activated during the promotional period.
  • There is a maximum of 2 free lines per account.

Next week will bring Black Friday and lots of deals, but T-Mobile will start offering deals a week early with Magenta Friday.

From Friday, November 18 through Sunday, November 20, T-Mobile will offer two lines for free when you sign up for T-Mobile One. This means that a family of four can get four T-Mobile One lines for $120 per month, or $30 per line. This offer is open to both new and existing customers.

One week later, T-Mo will have some device deals available for Black Friday. These offers will be available from Thursday, November 24 through Sunday, November 27:

  • Trade in a Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 5, or LG G5 and get a Galaxy S7 for free after 24 monthly bill credits with T-Mobile One or Simple Choice Unlimited.
  • Free Samsung Gear VR and $50 Oculus app store gift card with purchase of Galaxy S7 (including the free one) or Galaxy S7 edge.
  • Free Samsung Galaxy Tab E or LG G Pad X 8.0 with 24 monthly bill credits and T-Mobile One tablet plan.
  • UE Boom 2 Bluetooth speaker for $129.99 ($70 off).
  • LG Tone Pro 760 Bluetooth headphones for $39.99 ($30 off).
  • Mophie Powerstation Mini portable battery with 3,000mAh capacity for $9.99 ($50 off).

The fact that several of these promos are focused on T-Mobile One is likely to frustrate customers that don’t want to make the switch, but it’s also not surprising since T-Mobile One is T-Mo’s new plan. The Magenta Friday offer is a couple of days out and Black Friday is next week, so you’ve got some time to decide if you want to take advantage of these T-Mobile One-centric offers.

Sold & Shipped by Swish Products

Go ahead. I highly doubt it’s counterfeit at that price.

  • Nick

Still keeping my SC FM 10 GB plans. I have 11 lines and only a few heavy data users.

  • Michael Tran

that 4 lines for 120 is not bad depending on your video watching habits.

    • James

If you watch a lot of videos you can benefit from the tablet promotion that allows you unlimited 4g LTE usage.

      • stl222

        What tablet promotion?

      • Cam Fas

I have the old tablet plan with data match so 10 bucks per line and I have two iPads it’s already technically unlimited because each iPad has 5 gigs but Netflix and YouTube is part of binge on demand so they don’t use data so for me that’s all I use them for making it unlimited.

  • They_Call_Me_Bruce

I don’t see the free Apple mini tablet that was unofficially mentioned two weeks ago.

    • M H

      That was my question too!

  • tranceformer978

I’ll pay 10 bucks for that Mophie Powerstation Mini.

    • Alex Wagner

Yeah, I was thinking that $10 for a small battery pack to throw in a bag or pocket might be worth pulling the trigger on.

    • Dim

There’s a bunch of portable chargers on Amazon in $10-15 price range. Here’s 3,350mAh for example http://amzn.to/2fVUufs

      • tranceformer978

That’s 13 bucks. I’ll wait til next Friday and save myself 3 dollars.

  • Acdc1a

    4 lines, $120…what’s the downside?

    • Encino Stan

Two Lines Free: Via bill credits; may take 2 bill cycles; 2+ paid voice lines required. Activate all lines by 11/20/16.
Question: Is the bill credits indefinite? or is this a limited time discount? Not a good deal if it reverts to full price after 2 years.

      • Francisco Peña

after 2 yrs, it will be free, as teh 24 monthly payments and credits, pay it off.

so they are charging you 24 equal payments for the phone. Then, they are giving you a credit for each month, essentially paying the monthly amount for you.

Then, after 2 yrs, it will be paid off, not by you, but TMo, and you get the phone for free.

        • Encino Stan

I am not getting a phone. Question is about 2 lines free on T-Mobile One.

      • Lit

Same question I have since whenever I see “bill credits,” it usually refers to 24 months.

      • Jay Trainer

The phone lines are indefinite. There is no two billing cycles stuff or anything, it’s immediate. It’s also not limited to 24 months. No where in this article does it declare it!

    • Francisco Peña

dvd streaming (basically BingeOn all the time) and if you want HD streaming, you have to pay or go to the OnePlus plan.
      also, hotspot/tethering is limited to 3g speeds…

      • Acdc1a

The 480p discussion is old as it’s not noticeable on a 5.5″ screen…even less so since it very frequently goes to 720.

The 3g tethering speeds are not ideal.

  • LockesKidney

so i’m on 4 for 10 plan and im at $140 for 4 lines. How is the $20 savings on One worth it to me?

    • Francisco Peña

The one plan limites you to BingeOn all the time for video streaming (480p). If you want to stream HD quality, its extra or go to the OnePlus plan.
Also, under One, the tethering for devices is limited to 3G speeds. On Simple Choice you get to turn off BingeOn and also can tether at 4GLTE speeds.

      • Ty Christensen

If you turn off BingeOn will that turn it off for music and video? Before they even had BingeOn for video on our 2.5GB promo we were getting music freedom unlim streaming so when they added BingeOn for video did they just combine video and music into one? I would like to turn it off for video but not for music since 6 of our 10 lines use Google Music a lot.

  • pseudoswede

I wish they would bring back the stateside international promotion. http://www.tmonews.com/2014/11/new-stateside-international-talk-plan-announced-5month-for-your-entire-account/

I can’t switch plans because I would lose this feature.

    • Sandip Kumar

try calling the customer care as this internation calling is an “add on option” and not part of any plan.

      • CLosssz

unless you have a family plan.. then its an add on per line- which means a lot more $

    • Philip

Yah I know. Everything is decisions. I enjoy my real unlimited and 14GB of hotspot.

      • Acdc1a

I have ONE and add the Plus on months that I need it. Blew through 88GB of data this month so far and probably about half of that was tethering. With this promo if you have multiple lines to add the ONE isn’t a bad deal.

    • Limeybastard

Is that the $10 one that applies benefits to all lines? If so I have that to. So merely taking advantage of two “free” lines I’d lose my stateside international option ? I thought if anything those new lines would also benefit from the stateside international that I have on my main account. ?

      • pseudoswede

If you’re just adding two lines without changing the underlying plan, then I’m almost certain you will keep the feature. But if you switch to even a different Simple Choice plan, you will lose it. The T-Mobile sales rep in the store lied to me (but maybe he didn’t know that). Thank goodness for the fine folks at Retentions.

  • stuman19741974 .

I have 5 lines on my old T-Mobile Simple Choice Plan. If I were to move to this, would it then cost me $140/mo to cover all 5? Or $165 if I wanted the higher speed across the board, correct?

  • Jonathan Glabman

I have 6 lines for $120. It’s the 2.5gb plan with the 4gb bump. What happens with lines 5 and 6, how much extra?

    • Sandeep

people like us are already squeezing tmo to the max. I don’t expect they giving 20 USD back and offering 6 for 100 USD

  • pitflyer

I have 3 lines on the Simple Choice 10GB plan — first two lines $100, third line $20. So I guess I can get a fourth (and fifth line) for free on my Simple Choice plan? The update that existing customers with Simple Choice can sign up is confusing — are those new add on lines on our existing plans? If so, might as well sock drawer a couple more SIMs….

    • J.J.

thats what im thinking. i have 4 lines on simple. if i can stay with my plan i would not mine grabbing two more for free when the other kids are ready for a phone.

    • PHL

I have 4 lines on the 4th Line Free SC promo. Could I somehow change it so that both the 3rd and 4th lines are free? Would bring my bill from 120 to 100 before taxes.

  • Philip

So this is how you bate anyone to get out of the good old plans to the new plan? Too bad I am not giving up on my real unlimited 4G with 14GB of hotspot.

    • Ascertion

Existing customers: If you currently have 2 voice lines (any Simple
Choice voice plan or T-Mobile One voice plan is eligible), you can add
up to 2 lines to your plan for free.

      • Michael Tran

        link?

  • CLosssz

So where are the Apple deals? I was looking forward for the iPad Pro

    • AWEL

Right? I guess they pulled out of the iphone SE and ipad deal =(

  • mrcoolcat

Where is the LG G5 that was supposed to be free after bill credits?? http://www.tmonews.com/2016/10/t-mobile-black-friday-deals-reportedly-leak/

    • RLB63

I agree. They don’t seem to ever do a b1g1 with LG

  • Frank B

Does the Trade in for S6 Edge for an S7 also apply to existing customers on the Simple Choice plan? It doesn’t look that way.

  • Jimmy1974

What do I get if I trade in a s5

    • Ascertion

Supposedly you can get the S7 for $200 if you trade in the S5. I’d hit up CS though before you head to a store based on this info.

      • Jimmy1974

        Ok

      • Jesus Rosales

Where do you get this information from? I have an S5 hat u don’t use and would like to get this offer.

      • Encino Stan

Details? I see the S5 has a trade in value of $50 at T-Mobile.

        • Prode

You can trade in a S5 if you want. The cost for a S7 is $100 the cost for a S7 Edge is $200.

  • James B

Lost me at T-Mobile One. No thanks.

    • Acdc1a

4 lines of unlimited everything with a couple of caveats for $120 monthly. That seems like an awfully good deal.

  • PiCASSiMO

    Got the 10GB x 4-lines Simple Choice for $120/month.

Aside from unlimited data, what do I gain with One and what do I lose?

    • Panzer

You lose LTE tethering and full definition video with T-mo one unless you want to pay more per/day/month

      • PiCASSiMO

        Too much lost… I’ll pass.

    • Ty Christensen

Yeah, don’t do it, with the 10GB plan you also have the 20GB data stash and you can tether a lot more with your plan, 10GB data is a lot in my opinion and unlimited is a waste but that’s just me.

      • PiCASSiMO

Thank you, Ty. I think I’ll stay with my current plan.

  • HawaiiD

What if you already have the T-Mobile one 3+1 line free plan? Are you eligible to switch to the 2+2 lines free?

    • PHL

I’d like to know this as well

    • Steven

The free line is only for NEW lines. If you currently have the 4th line free (T-Mobile one 3+1 line free plan), you can get your 5th line free this weekend. There is a maximum of two total free lines per account.

      • HawaiiD

Steven, why wouldn’t T-Mobile just switch the old TM1 promo3+1free to the new promo2+2 free like they would switch a simple choice plan? What is the difference as both would be considered existing customers?

        • gorilla

No, you can only add new lines.
They will not convert your existing line to a free line.
You will have to cancel 2 of your current line to get 2+2 free, which is totally dumb because we are not even on contract yet they do this to existing customers.

  • J Cav the Great

Yeah…I will also stick with my 5 lines Unlimited data w/ LTE tethering for $165 per month.

  • cldra87

(sigh)…I was looking forward to getting the iPhone SE for $100…but I guess it was just a rumor.

  • Lit

“get an additional 2 lines for free after bill credit”
    – do these bill credits last forever? or for 24 months like if you were to get a deal on a device?

“anyone can activate on a Simple Choice plan and get two lines free, including new customers.”
    – does this mean we can also do 4 lines of the 10Gb simple choice plan (new plan)?

  • Jimmy1974

I have a simple choice with 5 lines 2 that am not using it would love to know if I can get the tmobile one plan for 120 and the other two lines for the free line

  • DKS

Give me 2 lines, period, at a great price without all the throttling and restrictions of the ONE plan and we’ll talk.

  • Deihmos

I have a simple choice plan with 3 lines. Can I get one of the lines free?

    • Charlie

you mean, cancel one line, and add one line for free? Probably you can do that and can not keep that phone number.

    • Paul Sousa

Only new lines would be free, I chatted with T-Mo Support and they confirmed this. I have three lines as well and the way I understood it I’d still be paying $140/mo for those lines, and then could add up to two lines for free (a fourth and fifth line). I let them know I probably would have switched if my existing third line would have been free, but as is I’ll stay put.

  • stuman19741974 .

Now I’m more confused. I have the “old” simple choice plan that is $80 covering 2 lines plus $10 a line. I have 5 lines and only mine has the additional unlimited data on it (so $130/mo for all 5 of us).

Can I have them change me to the 6GB simple choice plan and then have 2 of my 5 lines (technically the 3rd and 4th) be free? I don’t get this updated simple choice piece since those 6GB and 10GB plans include 4 lines off the bat.

    • Jsun

I also have 5 lines and would like to know if I can save on the 10gb I have now or even with just 6gb.

I’ll wait til Friday and call CS, but I have a feeling it won’t be much discounts for simple choice plans.

      • stuman19741974 .

I just chatted with T-Mobile support. They indicated that I can ADD 2 lines for free (for a total of 7 which I don’t need). But can’t change the plan and then just have 2 of my 5 lines free. :(

  • SirStephenH

“Mophie Powerstation Mini portable battery with 3,000mAh capacity for $9.99 ($50 off).”

3,000mAh!? What am I supposed to do with a 2-5% charge on my phone?

    • Rob

3000mAh is the average battery size these days… 4250mAh is the biggest I’ve seen… 10% of that charge would be 300mAh which would barely charge half a flip phone so I don’t get how you’re at 150mAh at 5% or worse… That’s a sick deal for a sick juice pack. 10 bucks for a full or close to full emergency charge and from a company that uses safer IMR chemistry in their batteries?

  • pc jona

So if I want to add a tablet to my simple choice plan… I can get up $30 of data for free right?

  • M H

If you stay on a simple choice plan you will be limited to 6gb per line for the 2 lines free promo?

    • The cheapest 2 lines are free

      • M H

They told me yes you have to be on at least 6GB data plans for all lines 120.00

        • Prode

this is wrong. You can be on any data plan you want.

        • M H

I was told all promos require 6GB min on simple choice but it doesn’t matter to me as I’ll be switching over to the ONE plan

  • Joe

I have 3 lines 6GB per line at $100 total. With work discount it drops down to $85. I think discounts do not work for Tmobile One. So basically I’m keeping my 6 GB per line deal. I have 20 GB saved up in rollover and so does my wife. I don’t need unlimited.

    • You have to add lines you cannot just make one of your current lines free

  • HangmanSwingset

I have the 2 for $100 plan. It’s labeled “Simple Choice Promo”, so would that count? And would I be able to activate a tablet on this? If so I’d be very interested. If not I actually kinda understand.

    • Brian S

I was actually on Twitter with TMO last night and they verified that those of us that are the 2 for $100 Unlimited Promo (what a great plan) ARE eligible for this. That’s normally $40 per line so how can you not just activate 2 more lines? Of course, I would want to figure a way to replace my current Lines 3 & 4 with these since $80/mo adds up.

  • gorilla

So everyone should get 2 lines for free even if we don’t need it?
Are they going to start charging us afterwards?

    • stuman19741974 .

I was thinking the same thing…just to get a couple extra T-Mobile Tuesday perks each week ;)

      • gmo8492

Yeah you can have a burner phone line active…lol

    • Rob

They’re hoping most lines go on EIP of course.

  • Tony Wu

So I have 3 lines for family plan 2Gb for each for $90 per month, will I get $80 per month plus another 2 lines free? I can use one line as tablet line, right? (No change any phone) number

  • Buster Nutwell

So 120 bux for 4 lines on tmo one. If I want to add a 5th line, how much would that be?

    • Acdc1a

      $20

  • JG

Nice deal. So it’s basically free + tax monthly.

I wonder, can I cancel a line a day before this promo starts, then add a line on the promo day and get that one free? I do t care to keep the phone number.

    • Corey Jalette

You should be able to, yes. Love loopholes. Just be sure you keep at least 2 lines on the account though I think that’s one of the requirements is 2+ lines to get the 2 free ones.

      • gmo8492

Or if someone wants to leave your the plan you can just port out their number and keep a phantom line thats not in use active as long as its free. Well at least to my knowledge.

    • (J²)

Yes, that is exactly what I’m doing. There’s absolutely no way to stop you from doing that.

      • JG

Hey, I just got off the phone with TMo customer service. They informed me that we cannot terminate a line within 24-48 hrs of the day of the promo. But, I was told that as long as I make no changes for 90 days after, then I can drop any of my original lines. Just FYI, it’s TMo customer service, so take it with a grain of salt. I think I’ll err on the side of adding the lines, waiting 90 days. The tax is nominal.

        • JG

And now I just found this on T-Mobile’s website.

“You can keep the promotional pricing as long as you maintain qualifying service and stay on your current plan. If you cancel service on any of your lines or change plans, you will lose the monthly bill credits.”

        • Prode

This is why I am not doing this.

        • gmo8492

They will just charge you for the extra line you didn’t cancel, they cant go back and change your plan if you keep the account active.

  • Rob

What a disappointment! I was looking forward to that iPad offer. Once again Sam-Mobile shows its true colors!

    • Jimmy1974

If my memory serves me current they just up grade all the iPhone 6 to iPhone 7 for free

  • Philip

The trade in for a S6 and get a S7 for free, do you need to add a new line?

    • Prode

      no

  • Ashok Patel

I am on the Simple choice 10GB plan and currently have been upgraded to unlimited for a year I think. I have two Galaxy S6 and wanted to take advantage of the trade in offer for black Friday. Is it worth switching to the T-Mobile One plan to get the phones for free?

    • Panzer

Really depends on your needs. I probably wouldn’t take advantage of this but I wouldn’t deny it’s a great deal for a free phone upgrade.

  • Bobnoise

I have the “Simple Choice North America Unlimited Family Match Promo” plan with 4 lines. They all have unlimited data and 14 gb of hotspot along with Mexico and Canada roaming. Is this plan eligible for 2 extra lines? I dont intend to change my base plan

    • Ascertion

Yes. If you already have 4 lines (1 free), you can add another line with no extra cost (aside from taxes.)

      • Bobnoise

Yes thats what i was thinking. I pay for 3 lines with 4th being free. So basically this means i can add two more lines (Tablet or smartphone) for free just like the 4th line. I intend to add two ipads. I’m still trying to understand the bill implications and the amount of data i’ll get. TMO offers are becoming more confusing by the day

        • Prode

No you can add one more for free. You can only have a MAX of 2 free lines pre account. You already are getting 1, so you can add one more.

        • Hello

For that promo plan the fourth line has to be a voice line. If you add a tablet line, they’ll charge you for it. Only on T-Mobile One can the free line be a tablet line.

        • Prode

This is wrong. As long as there is already two voice lines you get 2 lines for free. They can be Tablet or Voice lines.

        • Bobnoise

All the four lines i have on the plan are voice lines. So i basically already have 4 lines and i want to add 2 more (for tablets) which i’m assuming will be free.

  • Bobnoise

So i just called and spoke to a TMO rep. He told me that my plan is not eligible for this offer (i.e. adding 2 extra lines). I have the Simple Choice North America Unlimited Family Match with 4 working lines. In order to be eligible i’ll have to migrate to the TMO one plan. I’m not doing that at all. Is there anyone who got similar responses from their reps?

    • That’s not correct…Simple choice can add 2 lines for free. However if you already have a free line the promotion is a max of 2 free lines per account

      • Prode

SaDude is right. This does not have to be on T-MO One.

    • JG

I’m on Simple Choice North America 10 GB plan. Its just a little different than the family match, but very similar. The two reps I spoke with confirmed that my plan allows for one more free line. Maybe try a different rep? But I’m not sure how much different your plan is to mine. I couldn’t see much difference when I compared. Well, except for that UNLIMITED part that I just recognized. Maybe that’s the reason.

  • Fernando N.

Spoke to a CSR last night, it was her first call regarding Magenta Friday so she wasn’t too sure, what she told me is that my plan the Simple Choice NAUF is eligible for the free lines and that they should be free for life.

Regarding the Trade in she also said that the phone can be from another carrier since it doesn’t specify that it has to be t-mobile, as long as it passes the “3 point inspection” it should be fine and if you wish to get the SG7e it would be $100 with the qualifying trade-in. She mentioned that also LGV20 was available if you traded an older LG handset.

  • Phil

I wonder how this plays out for “Select Choice” customers.
    I’m on 25.00 Unlimited Talk & Text plan + 20.00 Unlimited data.

    • Prode

Some of these plans are ok for the promo call in or go to the store and check.

    • Hector Escobedo

Only simple choice and tmo one

    • Same here. I’m on select choice. 2 lines unlimited 4G data for $90. Hope to get two free lines with same unlimited 4G data added.

      • IamTwone

I have the same plan 2 lines for $90, 3rd line $25 and the 4th is $5 with only 30mb. I wonder if i could get those 3rd and 4th lines free. My friend had the $25 Select Choice added his girlfriend in the store and they changed his whole plan tmobile wouldnt put it back on the best they could do was put him on the 2 lines for $100.

        • Phil

Just visited store , yes you will be good to go on that Select Choice plan.
For me not so great because I’m on 1 line Select Choice. Adding second line to that plan for the 2 free lines will forces me off current onto more expensive plan.
It’s ok though , extra lines were not must have.

        • IamTwone

Yea I’m just glad I always had to 2 lines me & my younger sister. & recently added my dad & friend on my plan. But yea same issue with my friend if u call up though they give u the 2 lines for $100 which is just as good because it includes that $10 north American Canada/Mexico addon.

        • Phil

I’m so tempted but will hold off.
Giving up 25.00 Unlimited Talk & Text plan is a crime lol
20.00 Unlimited data plan added into mix makes 45.00 one line plan.
That kind of plan will never see light again on any carrier I will stay put.

        • I called T-Mobile. They didn’t allow me this deal on my current select choice plan. He kept trying to get me onto the One plan, or the simple choice 10gb plan which would’ve been $120 for 4 lines. Decided to pass on the deal. Will try again with a different rep.

        • IamTwone

Same here can’t do nothing with select choice, they really trying to get people off these plan. Kind of wish I went with the 2 for $100 but then I can add lines on my plan for $5 not forced to have unlimited data for $40. & They pushing that T-Mobile one hard. A rep told me it was better then my plan when I can pay $140 for 4 unlimited LTE & full HD streaming. She said ok if you think so lol.

  • tbonenga

I have the 4 lines for $150 simple choice UNLIMITED everything. Does anyone know if I can add another 2 lines for free?

    • Prode

with that plan I think it is only 1 more free because you are getting the 4th for free now.

      • tbonenga

Thanks… A Tmobile rep just confirmed that for me

        • Titinni66

What did they say? 1 more free line or 2 more free lines?

        • Titinni66

I had 4 lines/6GB for $120 and 1 extra line for $20 so how many free line should I get then?

        • Prode

if you have a plan right now that gives you 1 free line, you can only get one more free line. You can only have 2 total free lines on one account.

        • Titinni66

Thanks for reply…I still confused because the promotion for $120 for 4 lines with 6GB that I had that I don’t know if I have a free line or not.

        • Prode

you do have a free line already. That is a promo plan. You can only get one more line for free that will get Unl T&T and 6gb of data.

        • tbonenga

You’ll get 1 additional free line with identical data. The 4 line deals already include a free line (I didn’t know that)

        • HawaiiD

Wouldn’t you have to change your plan to the TM1 to get this? Wouldn’t you lose you simple choice plan unlimited?

        • tbonenga

          No

  • Lit

Damn so nothing for legacy plans like the FTXXXs?

  • Fabs

So it says 2 free lines.. does that mean you also get 2 free phones with those free lines???

    • No, phones are only free with eligible trade in or if there is a promotion going on

    • sidekicker89

If you switch to the T-Mobile One plan you can get the LG K7 or the K10 for free over 24 month bill credits. The LG Stylo 2 is $49.99 over 24 month bill credits as well.

  • rbfrost

I have the 4lines for $100, 2.5Gb Promo. How many free lines can I get?

    • Please read. Maximum free lines no matter who you are is 2 per account

      • rbfrost

That’s where I’m confused. 4 for $10 @ 2.5GB is similar to old 2GB plan where 1st line $50, 2nd line $30, 3rd line $10, 4th line $10 = $100. The 4 for $100 promo just gives you 0.5GB more per line but I’m not sure how many if any lines are counted as free. If I had the old 2GB plan, non of the 4 lines would be considered free for for the 4 for $100 @ 2.5GB, I’m not sure.

        • JG

Call T-Mobile. They know your plan and will tell you. I’m on the Simple Choice North America 10 GB plan. I thought I was going to be adding 2 lines for free until the rep caught it and informed me that I already have one line free with my current plan. So, I’ll be adding one more only this time. If you call them they can clarify your plan.

      • laurnzo

Thats incorrect. I have 5 lines. 4 at 10G promo for $120 and 5th line extra $20. I was only able to add one extra line not 2. Don’t know if its by case to case but mine is certainly so.

    • Hector Escobedo

You could add it, 2 free

  • Zach Mauch

My wife and I got the promotional 2 lines of 6GB for $80. Would we still be able to participate? If so, I might seriously consider adding my parents and this would be a KILLER deal.

    • JG

If you’re plan says Simple Choice you can add two lines. But call them to verify, they have the details on paper right now.

      • amhoffma

yes you will be able to get the same price 80$ for the new 2 lines

    • Hector Escobedo

You could you’ll be good to go

  • gmo8492

I have the simple choice unlimited plan 4 lines for $150. The 4th line is already free. But I recently added a 5th line a few months ago and had to pay an $30 extra for it. So it comes out to $180 for 5 unlimited lines. After going back and fourth with customer service, I had to deactivate a line and reactivate it to get the 5th line free. They already shipped me a brand new sim so I’m essentially going to pay $150 for 5 lines with unlimited data which is insane. I recommend anyone in a similar situation to jump on this now it’s worth the trouble.

    • Jsun

Were you able to keep the same number or did you have to get a new one?

      • Hector Escobedo

I saw the fine print and you couldn’t deactivate any line within 90 days of the promotion. If you did you had to reactivate same line plus add another and you’ll get the other free.
So you might be in to some trouble..

        • gmo8492

That’s not what they told me and I already did it.

        • amhoffma

Any line that has been reactivated will not be free so be wary

        • rbfrost

Where can i review the fine print. I’m worried about the details. Can you post a link?

      • gmo8492

Technically not when your doing the process. You have to disconnect the line then add a new line which will have a random phone number. But customer support told me that you can keep the line you want active and wait until they ship you the sim card so you can full activate the new line. The new line that’s free will already be added to your account once you do this, but tell them that you want the old phone number on the new line.

TLDR: Yes you can keep your old phone number of the line you want to make free just tell customer support that’s what you want to do.

        • Jsun

Will do exactly that. Thanks for the info!

  • rex2745

Tmobile the only one not offering any iPhone or ipad deals this sucks

  • Jesus Rosales

I just called in and they told me that i need to add a new line to get one for free. Thats there catch.

    • Kingsmaker

Thats bad info. The reps are not trained up yet. Go watch John Legere’s holdiay faq he did on periscope. At the 7:20 mark he specifically says you do not have to add a new line. I don’t think the reps are completely trained on this yet. I was able to get two lines added without the need to pay for a new line. The rep had to go talk with supervisor but they got it straightened out.

      • PiCASSiMO

To confirm: I’ve got 4-Simple Choice lines (10GB each) at $120. I can get additional 2-lines for free, resulting in 6-simple choice lines for $120?

        • Amy

No because you are already taking advantage of 1 promotion where you got the 4th line free you only qualify for 1 free line

  • kev2684

Is the free line thing available online? We’re on the $150 3 lines + 1 free line. I was wondering if I could bag another free line online.

    • renzo

      yes i have that plan

  • Omar Lozada

I want to do a JOD for the Galaxy S7 edge Coral blue and of course get the free VR and $50 credit ,but I can’t find the black friday promotion for this, I see that if you trade a phone you get a S7 but dont say anything about the edge, any light about this?
    thank you

  • Francisco Peña

are we slapped with taxes too? I might want to add a line, get a G5, then next week, trade in the G5 for an S7 and it should be free.

    • Encino Stan

I am sure you are. Line is ‘free’ after bill credit. They probably don’t credit the taxes.

    • Corey Jalette

I think you have to trade in a paid off phone.

    • renzo

only state tax for each line its like 3 bucks

  • Magenta Oaks

    Okay Gang T-mobile Rep Here
    2 Lines free promo
    New customers:
Must acrivate 2 voice lines to receive 2 free lines
    Existing Customers:
Must activate 1 new line to receive 2 free lines
You are able to mix and match what service you want to be free as long as the first teo lines are voice lines
All plans qualify for this promo

    • Jvanle

For existing customers, are you able to take advantage of the promo this week and then take advantage of the black Friday promo next week?

      • Encino Stan

According to John Legere and Mike Seivert during their Periscope FAQ they did, yes you can take advantage of the promo this week and then take advantage of the black Friday promo next week.

    • Kingsmaker

Not according to John Legere and Mike Seivert. Go watch their periscope faq they did yesterday. They specifically say if you are a current customer that has two existing lines you can open line 3 and 4 absolutely free (except taxes) with out the need to pay for a “new line”.

      • IamTwone

I just checked periscope and it said it has to be to new lines added and u go in detail which video on periscope said 3rd and 4th existing lines are free.

    • tbonenga

Not true…. I had 4 voice lines (3 paid + 1 free) they gave me a 5th line free, I didn’t have to add a paid line to get it

      • ahoffma

that is correct you aren’t going to pay anything but the taxes on the line

    • HawaiiD

What if I currently have a 4 line 10Gb share SC plan and just simply wanted to change this plan to the TM1 2+2 line free promo?
      Can this be done?

  • stuman19741974 .

I have a Simple Choice plan. Let’s say I want to add 1 tablet line. I’m assuming that would make the $20/2GB tablet plan free and higher data options would cost incrementally more?

    • amhoffma

you can get the 6gb or t mobile one line free for the tablet if you have the t mobile one plan, you can get a maximum discount of 25$ for the tablet

  • David Square

Can I trade in my S6 that is on JOD to get the upgrade to the S7 for free? I currently have my S6 for free every month when I traded in my Note 4 at the time.

    • amhoffma

no it has to be fully paid off not on jump on demand

  • Brian Maher

Just returned from my local T-Mobile store. Added 1 voice and 1 mobile internet, and received the T-Mobile Up Drive for free (after bill credits). The voice plan is the same as my current (4 for $100, data upgraded to 4GB on each), plus we have a 5th line added for $10, so 5 for $110. We also have a 15% government discount, so roughly $93.50 for the original 5 lines + tax. On the free mobile internet, they gave me the 6GB plan. I thought we were only allotted $25 on the data plan, and the 6GB is the $35 plan, but I forgot T-Mobile discounts your mobile internet plan $10 if you have a voice line, so it now makes sense. I STILL can’t believe T-Mobile is doing this! I got to the store an hour after they opened, and a BUNCH of people came in after me to get their two free lines. Color me happy!

    • Kingsmaker

Its very surpising they are doing this. Its probably so they can report to their shareholders about all the “growth” they have seen this quarter.

  • Druff

    I’m currently on a simple choice plan with 8 lines. $50+30+10+10+10+10+10+10 = $140
What would my bill look like with this promotion?

    • Brian Maher

Your bill shouldn’t change, you would just be adding two additional lines (either voice, mobile internet or tablet) on your plan.

    • tmoooobbb

Best to call 611 or better go to a store by Sunday (last day), instead of getting ans here that might not be correct!

    • Encino Stan

Add 2 line for free (after credit), get 10 lines for …

      $50+30+10+10+10+10+10+10+(10-10)+(10-10)+taxes = $140+taxes

    • PiCASSiMO

Please confirm… as I wouldn’t mind having a 5th and 6th line on our current $120/month plan with Simple Choice.

  • gokha

Got two lines free. I’m on simple choice 4 for 100 with 2.5gb (upgraded to 4gb) plan. Have 5 lines so its 110. Now 7 lines for 110. pretty good deal. Only have to pay 8 dollar more in taxes.

    • stuman19741974 .

Did the 2 free lines also get the 4gb? Or are they just the standard 2.5gb?

      • gokha

        I forgot to ask that.

  • PiCASSiMO

“Existing customers: If you currently have 2 voice lines (any Simple Choice voice plan or T-Mobile One voice plan is eligible), you can add up to 2 lines to your plan for free after bill credit.”

Does anyone know how long will this BILL CREDIT last? 6, 12, 24-months, or indefinitely???

    • Encino Stan

      According to FAQ:

How long will promotional pricing last?
You can keep the promotional pricing as long as you maintain qualifying service and stay on your current plan. If you cancel service on any of your lines or change plans, you will lose the monthly bill credits.

      Source: https://explore.t-mobile.com/t-mobile-one#faqs

      • PiCASSiMO

        Thank you.

    • lev

indefinitely. So said John and Mike on periscope. You can watch it on twitter.

      https://www.periscope.tv/JohnLegere/1lPKqYoNEXAKb?t=4s

      • PiCASSiMO

        Thank you, kind sir.

  • stuman19741974 .

Can we just add the lines to our accounts by logging in online? Or do you have to call them? I’d prefer online so I can use the FREESIM code to save the $20 per line. But I don’t see anything indicating that the promo discount will be there at the checkout screen.

    • amhoffma

The free sim is also over the phone

  • tbonenga

You can add 2 free voice lines and 2 free data lines. I had 4 voice lines and 1 data line. I got 1 free voice line (already had one free line). I added a paid data line $25 for 6GB and got 2 free 6GB data lines free. I also got 2 Samsung tab e’s and 1 sync up all for FREE!!!! So basically I’m going to pay $25 plus taxes extra a month and I got 1 new voice line, 3 new data lines, 2 tablets and a sync UP (car hot spot)
    I’m extremely happy

    • Fernando N.

How did you manage the extra 2 data lines ? AFAIK its only 2 free lines voice and/or data , seems you got 3 ( 1 voice and 2 data )

      • tbonenga

I already had 1 free voice line, now I have 2 voice and 2 data lines free. I called in to get my free voice line and a paid data line and a free tablet. The rep said since I have 2 paid data lines I qualify for 2 free data lines. I didn’t question it, I just said if that’s the case let me get another free tablet and the free sync up. Everything went through fine. I’d suggest calling 611 if you want that offer too

  • HawaiiD

The original TM1 plan was for 3+1 line free for 140 dollars. However, if you use the auto pay feature it would be dropped to 130 dollars.

  • AJ

Does anyone know if T-mobile is ever going to bring back the iPhone 7 trade deal that was available back in September? I was hoping they would bring it back for black friday :(

  • DCD

    darn…i have the galaxy s5, not 6

    • Fernando N.

I saw the promo list at the TPRI store I was at today, if I remember correctly with the S5 you would need to pay $100 for the S7 or $200 for the S7e. Good luck!

  • ancho84

Can I do this in-store and get free sim cards? Or is the free sim by phone only?

  • Nobody Special

im on the 2 for $100 simple choice unlimited promo plan, and the rep tried several times to switch me to the Tmobile One Plan. I was told I can get the 2 free lines and my bill will only be $120 per month only after i switch to the T-mobile One Plan. I told her you are wrong, I do not have to become a tmobile one customer, simple choice customers are eligible too, so i should have 4 unlimited text, data, voice lines for $100 Dollars!!! she was speechless lol….

dont let them trick you into changing your plan, they are really slick with their slide of hand.

  • Rob

Don’t know if anyone else has said it but while my HTC 10 is not valid for the Samsung trade, you can trade a G4. I checked. Call customer service, say disconnect, and get a note on your account. Apparently a 200 dollar phone (with savvy shopping) is worth more than my almost 700 dollar one in the eyes of T-Mobile and Samsung. If any other carrier even came close to T-Mobile pricing, I would jump ship. Of course they were quick to point out that I can blow my Jump credit, pay 8.25% sales tax of the G5, then use my last Jump credit for the next twelve month rolling period (I have OG Jump) to trade in and walk out with an S7 Edge. Too much hassle for a phone that isn’t much of an upgrade at all. It’s a sidegrade at best.

  • leaveamessage9111 leaveamessag

T Mobile is not honoring their Black Friday deals. Write to your attorney general. They are doing all they can to make you give up on your claim.
