Second Screenshot Confirms April 24th HTC One Launch Date

Screen Shot 2013-04-15 at 2.20.37 PM.png 2013-04-15 14-22-52

Just minutes after a post went up highlighting a T-Mobile retail store planogram indicating a HTC One launch on April 24th comes an even more verifiable screenshot. I believe this new image should put to rest any doubts that the device will launch that day inside “select stores.” So, what else can we say? How about like the iPhone launch, T-Mobile frontline sales reps will be sporting HTC t-shirts from April 24th through the 28th promoting the launch of the new HTC flagship. The HTC One will be available for $99 down payment inside T-Mobile owned store locations with $20 monthly installment payments for 24 months. Third-party retailers like Best Buy have already priced the T-Mobile HTC One on subsidy for $249 for the 32GB version.

Any questions?

Will only the 16GB version be available at T-Mobile locations with the 32GB online only?

    • http://twitter.com/MBF85 Martin F.

i dont think they made a 16gb version

      • thepanttherlady

Thank you. I haven’t followed too closely on this device as I don’t want it but one of my daughters has expressed an interest.

        • Hoggles

You have a very intelligent daughter…

        • thepanttherlady

LOL Not when it comes to phones. She’ll be getting the Nexus 4 in May. Why? She is too cheap to buy her own phones and I refuse to buy her another $600+ phone that she will drop/throw/step on etc. Normally she gets my “hand me downs” but not anymore. I’ve made a deal w/ her so that she pays off one of my EIP’s, puts the tax upfront and I put in $89. Win/win for everyone. :)

        • Hoggles

          Hehehe….Nice!

  • Lilsage

Ok so the htc one is coming out on April 24???

    • adam

I always call Tmobile get from them “remedy form number” and t I fax receipt that shows full price paid to their sim unlock team at (813) 353-6557

      • Kingcharming

        wrong post…

    • Dakota

Why is it always select stores? Just confuses customers more or frustrates people who walk into a store and can’t find what they want to buy

      • kev2684

HTC can’t beat the demand same way how the S III had manufacturing delays for pebble blue at launch.

god damm 9 more days …

  • oryan_dunn

I wonder how hard it’ll be to get it unlocked if I pay full price? I have a funny feeling it’ll be a battle. Plan is to use a Net10 AT&T SIM until T-Mo has better rural coverage near me.

    • 21stNow

      Are you a current customer?

      • oryan_dunn

Yes, have been for 6yrs. The phone would be for my fiance, with the idea of adding her on to my plan when/if T-Mobile improves coverage around here.

Either way, I remember reading recently that Mr. Legere commented that if you bought the phone for full price, they’d be able to SIM unlock in the store.

Edit: I’m ok with 2G and I use WiFi calling at home. She’s a little more demanding than I am.

Edit2: The story here on T-MO new’s is titled:
“T-Mobile: If You Cancel, You Own The Phone, Can Be Unlocked Once Paid Off”
I’ll post a link as a reply to this, since it needs to be approved.

      • oryan_dunn

I submitted a reply earlier, but doesn’t look like it’s posted, so I apologize if this is a repeat.

I am a customer of 6years, the phone would be for my fiance, who will use a Net10 AT&T SIM until T-Mo can expand their rural coverage around where we live. Once that happens (if that happens), then the plan would be to bring her onto a family plan with me.

I’m not as demanding as her, and 2G/WiFi calling suit me just fine.

Either way, the CEO Legere said if the phone was paid off, T-MO would unlock it.

The article on here on tmonews is titled: “T-Mobile: If You Cancel, You Own The Phone, Can Be Unlocked Once Paid Off”

        • 21stNow

You should be able to get it unlocked, since your account has been active for over 40 days then.

        • oryan_dunn

Yeah, that’s what I’m hoping, that I don’t have to use the phone on my line for 40 days, which is what I was told when I just yesterday called to have my ancient Moto V3t unlocked. I wasn’t about to use it for 40 days as my phone, but want it unlocked as a backup for when I travel internationally.

I also just saw the article today about the new T-Mo unlock policy. My troubles with getting that old V3t unlocked don’t give me confidence.

    • the2000guy

Just buy it unlocked my friend.

      • oryan_dunn

        Won’t support AWS HSPA+.

  • http://knightofscorpio.tumblr.com/ DtheArtist

Thank god *bows* I can wait these 9 more days.

    • HTC-Rulez

So much for those BS rumors about mid-May. HA!

      • http://knightofscorpio.tumblr.com/ DtheArtist

I hope you’re not harassing me.

  • Genise

interested to know where “select markets” are located

  • Hoggles

    SWEET!

  • Dakota

Ate the subsidy rate plans the same as they were before. Having trouble getting an accurate picture of what those prices are

  • Chris Roberts

If I buy the One i can have about a week to try it out so that if I don’t like it I can return it for the S4 but if I do that I was told that I would be charged a 50.00 restocking fee :/

    • rnb0806

Why would you want to return it??? YOU WONT!!!!

      • Chris

Because at this point I prefer Software over hardware..

    • M Westbrook

Yea trust me to you will not want to return it. I was thinking about running out of the AT&T store with with it today.
OMG HTC One, I went to an At&T store today and saw and actually touched and played with the Infamous HTC One. Compared to my brother Samy S3. it’s like Day & Night. The HTC One screen is so Vivid & so Crystal Clear that the Samy S3 cannot come close to it. When I picked the HTC One up today, I felt the High End Quality and Craftsmanship of the cell. Plus it is actually lighter then my Bros Samy S3 cell. The HTC One UltraPixel is Super Fast and So So Very Clear. Trust me the pictures and video on the web of the HTC One is one thing but once you actually but the One in your hand in person you will be blown away. Just do not drool all over the Infamous HTC One in the store.

  • Goliath King

The Question is….. Will they be carrying the Black Version?

    • rnb0806

The answer to that is NO…so I heard. Only Sprint will, not sure about AT&T

      • the2000guy

Thanks a lot htc for doing the same mistake as to sell the 64gb only at Att. This is the worst way to get demands by only deciding to do exclusives. Is there a way that the smartphones brands think that the people want their phones exactly in the carrier that we chose and not where they decided to sell their phones?

    • Jack

they will but not now i think it need 1 or 2 weeks later

      • Goliath King

So in about 2-3 Weeks after Launch? Sigh because I know AT&T will have the black.. Limited to the 64GB at first.. Sprint will have Both….TMO letting me down right now… Somebody needs to post more info from T-Community

  • PiCASSiMO

I’ll wait till 05/01… play with both SGS4 and HTC1 at the same time. Make my decision then… but I’m leaning to the HTC1.

    • Chris

I thought about the One but I just cant seem to forgive a non removable battery as petty as that is. Plus I am huge Samsung follower and I have had great experiences with them. Do I want to pick aesthetics over software? At this point I rather have the software, removable batt and micro sd card slot.

      • the2000guy

Android should be as of now that every android smartphone forget to buy extra batteries because this is not an advantage for them. I never had to worry about my gs3 to think of have an extra battery. A reliable and effective smartphone should be without be worry to buy extra batteries.

        • Zacamandapio

          I agree.

        • Shawndh

When you’re traveling it’s nice to have an extra battery especially when you’ve only got one European outlet that will work with your adapters. When they improve battery technology where an android device can last for 2 or 3 days then they should move over to nonremovable batteries but not before!

        • the2000guy

Yeah, I know that but there is pocket battery backups instead of getting a battery and you can use it without open the case and remove the discharged battery to place the charged one.

    • rnb0806

DUH! Ha. Samsung is great, dont get me wrong. But this HTC One, is going to be BEAST! Good luck on your decision making :)

    • M Westbrook

  • Eric QaOne

So I wonder if this will have a positive effect on the HTC Store’s preorders – my status still says “Estimated Availablity = unknown” and everyone remembers the initial availability date had been “ships 4/18″ -_-

  • rnb0806

I was hoping for the 19th, like I read a week or so ago, but what’s 5 more days when the launch of the HTC One has seemed like an ETERNITY. Cannot wait!

  • Trav Montana

Yes the one and only. Here I come. Can’t wait :D

  • the2000guy

249 for the 32 I think is great compared to last year one s16gb at the same price.

  • choppingspree

got to check one out this weekend at one of those mall booths HTC is putting up (it even had the T-Mobile bloatware on it, also saw an AT&T version, didn’t check one with Sprint or Verizon stuff) the hardware is fantastic, screen is beautiful, speakers perform quite well even in that noisy environment, but not sure about Sense 5, my gf and I both noticed it wasn’t as smooth as the Lumia 920 we had checked out earlier

  • http://www.facebook.com/kyley.willing Kyley Willing

    Will it have WiFi calling

    • Jack

yes it will i asked HTC

  • http://twitter.com/JaimeMartinez_ Jaime Martinez

Yes David I have two questions. Do the unlocked/Tmobile version work with the Walmart $30 a month plan?

And does the Unlocked developer edition fully support Tmobile spectrum?

    Thanks.

  • Realest Ever

I love HTC Products and have been a fan since my G1 and my current G2. However, i am seriously considerign waiting before i get this phone to see does a new nexus comes out with Android 5.0 and Google I/O conference in May. The build of the phone is great, but the confusing button layout and UI changes the clash with the native Android disturb me. i have gotten use to jellybean on my Nexus 10 and I need that same feeling with my phone. I don’t really care about the lack of the SD card, but the non-removeable battery is a an issue. I have not seen one Android phone that does not need a hard rebbot every once in a while or weekly .Being able to pop the battery in and out is a must. It is a pain in the butt trying to troubleshoot an all touch screen phone and you can’t even remove the battery to give it a fresh rebbot .

  • http://twitter.com/hsingh1158 Harper Singh

I have it and it runs great and has no tmobile branding on the outside!

  • Guytano Law

Does anyone know the second tier price after the $99 plan? I just joined and had a $100 down payment plus a $250(?) for a galaxy s3. I have 30 days to return it. Just figuring out what the difference, with restocking would be. Thanks in advance :)

    • asmidnightfalls

Two fifty for non well qualifying customers, and fifty dollar restocking fee. Twenty dollars a month for 24 months.

      • Guytano Law

Thanks very much! Hopefully my stores get it,so I can return my s3. The phone seems amazing! I am coming from iPhones and I love ios and android, but best buy had a dummy one and it was nice. Thanks again

  • Classick

I wish I could cancel my employee order of the iPhone 5 I made over the weekend. :|

  • Alex

noooooo!! My last day of the 14 day return period is Apr. 22 ….oh well. I love my Nexus 4 anyway.

  • swscout

what about the black htc one?!

  • VanceDroid

It’s a relief to see an actual date (finally), but I won’t lie, I’m still miffed that t-mo passed on the opportunity to focus on this launch, take pre-orders, and go live on April 19th like AT&T and Sprint. Instead they chose to focus on the launch of last year’s iPhone… makes a lot of sense :/

  • JafetGarcia

i guess my store’s not getting it :/
