  •  David,  any chance they might have a 4th of July sale and offer it cheaper?

    • Nunya Beeswax

I wouldn’t count on it. Haven’t heard anything about a sale for the 4th and we always hear earlier than this. Sorry.

  • ROZCO

    Do stores have marble white?

  • smiley47

I call B.S. The local Phoenix TMO store said yesterday they won’t have the III until June 27 and Phoenix is number 3 on the Top 29 market list.

  • Lythandra

TMo is trying to get me to leave. $280 + $50 MIR. Sprint is the same Monthly and only $200 with no MIR.

I’m gonna wait and see what Amazon and Wirefly sell them at on the various carriers.

  • Employee

Pathetic….Don’t tell your employees that the SIII is coming out on June 21st and then only release it to “certain” markets. As an employee, I am disgusted with T-Mobile. Now all the customers that we’ve told to wait until the 21st, are now going to have to wait another week. I have never seen a company that has been run as poorly as T-Mobile is. I have worked with T-Mobile for 4 years, and right now, this is the lowest I’ve seen T-Mobile. They have lowered commission structure, aren’t getting phones on the release date, being sold off to other companies. Just absolutely pathetic….

    • Brass Balls

This company wants me to leave lol 5 years for me.

  • Shundiak

Any idea how much costco and walmart have them going for?

  • Mark

When I went in to do an upgrade to the blue 32gb, it did not offer me the rebate…came up as $379…kind of disappointing.  I’m still sticking with them, but I think I will wait and get a little bit better price either from them or from costco, walmart, etc…

    • Travis edwards

costco 249 with free blue tooth, screen protector, and car charger

  • Employee

So they are not offering it to the employees?? Bet, if I was a new activation, they would offer it to me!!! Phillip Humm can suck my D!ck

  • Sdfg

    Price fail….so ridiculous.

  • mescam

$50 rebate only for new costomers?  Does NOT show rebate available on my account..  Not that it really would have made it any easier to get, but I was ALMOST on the fence about getting this phone at the price they were asking..  Not anymore.  I have been with T-mobile ONLY..  I was with voicestream when it became t-mobile  Yeah.. that long.  not cool.

    • I’m not a new customer and I got the rebate. I think it depends on what type of plan you are on though.

  • Sdfg

Oh WOW! you are right!  Who the F would pay $329 when everyone else is offering at $199????? Biggest fail I have ever seen….debating switching carrier after this crap

    • Not self entitled

Lol…switching carriers over the price of a phone that you have a choice to buy? I’ve never seen so many self entitled customers than at T-Mobile..
You do not deserve the value T-Mobile offers you as a customer. Please leave!

      • Lythandra

If its cheaper somewhere else, monthly fee being the same then why is being financially responsible equal self entitled to you? I work hard for my money so I spend it wisely.

        • Spanky

Because, y’know….voting with one’s wallet makes one self-entitled.

      • mescam

self entitled?  Ridiculous statement.  The “value” of T-mobile only gets you so far.  People who talk about leaving T-mobile for a cheaper phone at a little higher rate on a better network or a similar rate on a slower network and with possibly better CS is a valid argument.  It is a give and take.  I would not mind paying a little more for the phone and stay on t-mobile, but not $130 – $180 more.

    • CS252

I did… Expensive but absolutely worth it!

    • CS252

I did… Expensive but absolutely worth it!

  • New York has like 34 literally. For all those that are complain just sell your old phone depending on the model. The galaxy s2 still sells for like $300-$250. The value plan is cheaper in the long run then the classic plan as well.

    • New York has more… Like 100 more.

Staten Island Mall store from what i heard.

  • MarcusDW

I’d really like to know why the Upgrade price online shows $379 and says nothing about the $50 rebate…?

BTW the checkout price is $437.21.

  • I’ll wait until wed, cust service told me $229 After MIR for 16GB so I’m getting at least that price on Wed.

    • Sdfg

Are you an existing customer or new?

  • John Jacob Jingleheimerschmidt

If you are complaining about the price, what the heck is wrong with the phone you have? Is it the fact that it’s not the latest, greatest status symbol? Pooooorrrr baaabies!

  • guest

I got it for 379 BUT I complained to customer service bout being customer for 8 years and now leaving tmo and she gave me 85 credit to my account for next month bill. So I guess I’m somewhat happy but tmo got it wrong on the price

    • This is why they are in the situation we are in now, people doing this crap.  Be glad I wasn’t that rep, I would have told you to ‘kick rocks’ Horrible…

      • Magenta Man

Yeah, that crap being an 8 year customer… dumb rep. 85 dollars is much cheaper to retain a customer than it costs to acquire a new one. I’ve been with magenta since 2001 ( 5 lines) and the reason has always been good prices + great customer service, which has included a few credits over the years.

      • Spanky

I don’t see any crap here. The customer didn’t feel like getting bent over, so he negotiated a better price. What’s wrong with that?

        • This is not the case, and you know it. People are lying on purpose just to get over, and that is why he came back here and posted it. To brag about it…

        • Akulamenuri

Wouldn’t it be pretty easy for someone in Customer Service to be able to look up how long a customer has been a T-Mobile Subscriber?

  • Staten Island Mall store 3811 has it!

  • HD2 to S3

FYI … customer rep just told me for upgrade customers you get the $50 mail in rebate.  Fill out the form you get with the phone.  He also told me since I’m not in a pre-release area I won’t get the phone till 6/29 if I use regular ground shipping.  I ordered it anyway, just have to wait an extra week.  Basically my area northern VA, will get the phone in general release on 6/27in stores.

    • gekswag03

If you would have done next day shipping, you could have got it tomorrow??

      • HD2 to S3

No … earlist I could get it was the 27th at store, if they have any.  Next day shipping would have gotten me the phone on the 28th earlist.  Since I have to wait no matter what I just used ground shipping to get it on the 29th.  I don’t live in a early release area, so I would have to drive to DC (closest to me) and find a store that might have it.  If you ever drove through DC traffic you would prefer to wait a week than go through that mess!  Basically it was the exact same deal that mytmobile was giving me, I just tried customer service to see if I could get it any sooner … nope.

    • gekswag03

If you would have done next day shipping, you could have got it tomorrow??

  • Edward_2k1

I’m going to wait a few months when they offer it for free, maybe around August or Sept. It’s nice for not for that price, that will also allow me to see what WP8 phones are going to be released as well. Also I heard the black w/red accents One S is coming this summer to T-Mobile.

  • UpsetCustomer

I’m very upset about this whole thing. TMobile should be ashamed of itself, offering this phone at a much higher rate than the competition. att, vz and sprint are all selling this at the price customers want. Tmo just wants to price gouge their customers and everyone is falling for it. I’ll be taking my line to sprint land over this. It’s just not right!

    • Sdfg

       I strongly agree

    • Guest

Well, I hope you have fun with Sprint..=)

    • Dave Lima

Sprint sucks where I live and I would never in my life switch to them. My work just switch to Verizon because of the poor reception. I do know that it cost the company a lot of money to switch, initially and monthly, but we get better service. Personally I like TMO and I am sticking with them.

    • Dave Lima

    • Bajamin

They are TOTALLY gouging you on price. They should just make their monthly rate for one line $110 like everyone else and save me $70 on a phone! freaking idiots at T-Mobile giving me a super low monthly rate and having the nerve to charge me $270 for a $650 phone! GOSHHHH!

      • UpsetCustomer

there’s no reason tmo should be charging this much compared to the others. even us cellular is pricing the phone the way it should be. this is why tmo was so late in announcing the price when everyone was proclaiming $199. they know they are doing their customers wrong by price gouging them. it’s wrong! tmo is out of touch with the american consumer and that’s why their churn is high. they give us mid-range phones like the one s and 710 but refuse to ship the one x and 900. the one time they get it right with the sIII they decide to price gouge everybody. screw you tmo. I’ve been waiting for this phone forever but I will not tolerate tmo doing this. if you think I’m crazy just read around the other tech sites. there’s a lot of people like me who are upset and will be taking our business elsewhere.

        • Bajamin

Judging from your ability to understand math and how even by buying the phone for more you are still saving money, this may be moot. There are many things that alter the price of a phone (but you have been trained at the $199.99 price). for instance how much profit is T-Mobile making to cover business cost, payroll etc. They charge much less per month but still have to maintain a network and pay employees. Their ARPU hovers around 30% which is fair. And yes there are a lot of people who are upset that a company gives you a $650 phone packed with expensive technology for $270. Because you people are morons who think every company should give you everything and never turn a profit. The ONE S is FAR from a “mid range” phone.

Lastly, if you think T-Mobile is gouging you for this ONE phone then what is your stance on the other companies charging nearly DOUBLE the monthly rate? It’s the same concept, you moron.

        • Cnote

Everyone is selling the phone at $199 but TMO…that is not ok and consumers should speak up by either calling or cancelling if they feel that strongly about it…

        • UMA_Fan

Thank you for being one of the few people who comment on T-Mobile articles that have a BRAIN.

        • Dcsouthgw

The real cost of the phone is the monthly plan. It can cost up to double each year for the service that what you would pay for the phone off contract.

    • Dcsouthgw

Contracts are a rip off. Buy it off contract and use it on their monthly plans and save hundreds of dollars each year.

  • I’m laughing at everyone switching carriers over a phone. At&t plans cost more and their known for drop calls. Verizon plans laughable even for the coverage in the boondocks.
    2008 $30 = unlimited

    2011 $30 = 2gb
    2012 $50 = 1gb (shared)
How does data cost me more? Are we running out?
2018 $1500 = 1mb?? That is  Verizon data and you still get overages .
Sprint lte network doesn’t exist.Their 3g is slower than T-mobiles edge. Not to mention it is still more expensive than t-mobile. Sure you can get unlimited on the now network but there is no lte now is there? Also their is an extra ten dollar fee.

    • HD2 to S3

2nd …For me to switch carriers my cost will go up $50 a month more! Sure the phone costs more up front, but in a 2 year contract you pay less and make up the difference and then some.  Look at the costs of the contracts, then look at the upfront phone costs, see who’s price wins in the end.

      • 21stNow

I have the opposite situation.  If I switch my T-Mobile line to AT&T for this phone, my monthly costs drop by $25 for my usage and I get the phone for $199.99.  I’m still deciding based on other non-monetary factors, but this may be the end of the road for me.

        • chilipalm

           How is this possible?

        • GwapoAko

May be he is using ATT calculator :0)

    • Justinreynolds98

Nobodys going to leave cause they know at the end of the day there gonna pay alot more for other carriers. Its not about loyalty or any nonsense like that. The only thing that matters is they have the best service for the price.

    • WW

Most people know this (not the pricing of data…that they’ll generally pay more for similar voice and data with other carriers).  They’re just angry that TMo’s charging more for the GS3.

Anyone that has an “average” plan (typically 1000-unlimited voice, 2gb data) will be cutting off their nose to spite their face (depriving TMo of their business but costing themselves more $ to do so).

If TMo doesn’t meet your coverage needs and you’re prepared to pay more for better coverage, that’s valid.  If you’re satisfied with TMo’s service/coverage, then switching because of the extra $130 TMo wants for the GS3 is stupid unless you’re bill only increases by $5 or less.  In that situation, you’ll break even.

I don’t have Sprint but I do have their “4G” service through Clearwire (they share WiMax signal).  In Atlanta, it’s ok and only slightly slower (2-7mb vs 3-10mb) than my TMo “4G” on my phone.  Sprint’s tethering/hotspot service is $20 or $50 (2gb or 6gb data caps respectively) per month on top of their unlimited data.

    • UglyPete

You laugh, but it’s true. When i worked at Tmo, people would see the blackberry curve for $149 and say “att has it for free, if you cant give it to me for free, i’ll just go sign up with them”  Nobody cares about long term. they want satisfaction now and are willing to pay more in the long run.

  • I’m gonna just get the 16GB blue here in a little bit, and call it a day. Put my 32GB card in there, and I’m set.  In the end, I’m paying less.  Because all the other carriers CAN NOT compete with the TMo price plans.

    • 32 gigs and 64 gigs sd cards are cheap now I have no idea why people want the 32 gig.

      • Baggio

Flash memory built-in the phone will always be faster than an SD card.

    • MarcusDW

      That’s what it’s all about.

      • You ordered already?  I’m headed to the local store here when it opens at 10am

        • MarcusDW

Nah I’m not buying it at that price especially since I just got ICS on the 2.

I may not even get it at all actually because in a month or two, I’ll be hearing about something else.  Maybe an RGB Note or RGB GS3 which will come out just a few months later.

I can live with my GS2 thankfully.

        • Got mine a little while ago, DAMN. This thing is Sooooooooooooo nice!!!!

    • MarcusDW

      That’s what it’s all about.

    • John

How does the blue look in person? Did they have the white as a demo? If so which color looks the best?

      • WOW, I’ve had it now for a couple of hours. It is truly nice…feels good in the hand, and the COLOR. WOW Pebble Blue is nice. When I went in the store, everyone was buying one..lol.

      • The only knock is that shiny finish on the rear of the blue model is a fingerprint magnet. It definitely feels much better in the hand that the GS II did. I got mine this morning didnt have alot of time to play with it at work but it’s awesome. Flipboard is pretty cool.

  • JMccovery

It could be worse, like with Sprint… The only people that will be able to get a GS3 are the ones who pre-ordered it, Sprint is unsure about general availability, because Samsung did not anticipate the high demand. Verizon’s GS3 won’t ship until July 11th, so right now, your only choices are At&t’s 16GB GS3s or T-Mobile’s higher priced 16 and 32GB GS3s.

    • TheReder

At least Sprint/Verizon/AT&T aren’t charging $330 out the door.

    • Dave Lima

Samsung did not anticipated the high demand? BS. they new that it was going to be high demand and they did nothing. It is the Hottest phone out there, so far, and did not get ready.

      • JMccovery

I got that from Sprint’s site. Go to sprint.com, select the GS3, then click the link about availability. It will take you to a Sprint Community page where that is the response from Sprint.

      • Spanky

Samsung is creating artificial demand by releasing limited supplies. Remember what Nintendo did with the Wii? Smart marketing!

    • Dave Lima

Samsung did not anticipated the high demand? BS. they new that it was going to be high demand and they did nothing. It is the Hottest phone out there, so far, and did not get ready.

    • John

I just wonder if T-Mobile purposely raised thier prices knowing well that Verizon won’t get thiers until July? And after the hype and all carriers have them maybe just maybe lower them back down to the other competitor pricing? Just a thought.

  • Mikelfl

In at the Waterford Lakes store in Orlando. Ten people in line. Supposedly they have 50 16gb pebble blue in stock.

    • Dasoccerbomb

Was it what you thought it would be…only blue ?

      • Mikelfl

Yes I wanted blue. I was the first person to get my phone. The Samsung rep even gave out pens and cups!
        :-P

  • andrewmi

Not trying to start a fight here, but in my situation, with my usage, Verizon is the EXACT same price/month.  TMO is the only carrier where I don’t get a 14-17% discount, we use a ton of voice minutes and relatively few texts/data.  In the past TMO has been the best deal by far, but after 6yrs on a myFaves plan, I have to look elsewhere.  So no, TMO isn’t always the cheaper plan, it may be for most people, so I don’t want to spend $130 more for a phone.

    • That because you have a discount. If you don’t have that T-mobile is cheaper than the rest.

      • Alex

Thanks for the clarification Captain Obvious.

      • Alex

Thanks for the clarification Captain Obvious.

    • Data is by far the most expensive thing, if you just want to talk on the phone you can go to boost mobile and pay almost nothing. Obviously if you don’t use data then any carrier would be cheap, and if you don’t use any of that why would you get the s3 anyway. if you do get the s3 on Verizon you will eventually start using it and when you shared family shared data runs out in a week you’ll be back on here singing a different tune. My loyalty is to the might dollar and I stay with tmo because they have the best value for the money. I don’t understand how your point is relevant, you say you just talk on the phone , but 95% of people who buy the top smarphome use it for data, and text. Everyone knows voice and texting is cheap, data is what you pay for.In a few years everything will use data, and wifi. So all those calls you make will be like using Skype and your 14 to 17 percent discount won’t even matter.

  • ElYukiPR

$230???  Are you crazy???  International have it on $199 and have a Quad Core processor.  No way!!! I’ll stay with my Galaxy S2 Titanium.  Same speed processor than GS3 and now with stock ICS.

    • XMAGUSX

So misinformed…the quad-core is basically only better in gaming tasks (the S4 beats it in CPU tasks), and the S3 dual-core in the GS2 isn’t close to the performance of either.

    • Dumbazz

you are absolutely clueless. I have the g 2 as well with I c s and I can tell you that on a daily basis this phone freezes up.

    • If you honestly believe just because they are both 1.5 Ghz dual core processors they are the same “speed” wise? they are different generations so they are not the same And as someone who switched to a GS III after having a GS II with ICS, I can tell u the difference is night and day. The ICS update on the GS II made my phone much slower and caused several freezes and force closes with apps that didnt happen before. The S III has far better fluidity. It’s awesome.

Look, you people who complain about “taking your money elsewhere” and to another company, go complain somewhere else because posting it on here isn’t going to change anything. You have a choice whether or not you want to buy this phone…NOW. 6 months from now, it’s going to be old news and you can spend your $100 less and don’t even think about the other phones that come out at the time..because you are the ones who complain about the smallest things. Get the hell outta here! T-Mo would be better off with out your daily complaint calls.

A business should consider the feedback from its customers.  A business that tells its unsatisfied customers to go to the competition, without considering changing the things that makes many customers unsatisfied will go out of business.

Consider Circuit City.  As much as I couldn’t stand Circuit City, I didn’t think that they would keep ignoring their customers until they had to close their doors.

  • Dennis Petros

Pulling this crap selling 130 more than other carrier. None of us should buy the phone at ALL so they drop the price. Morons at Tmobile.

    • Dumbazz

budgeting and finances isn’t your thing is it.
go get it for less at another carrier and enjoy pain more per month.

      • Is the concept of less coverage = cheaper plans lost on you? T-mobiles plans are cheaper because their coverage is generally sub-par to the big boys. That’s why you pay more if you go to Verizon or AT&T. That doesn’t mean T-Mobile’s coverage is BAD, but lets not kid ourselves, they aren’t up to snuff with the larger carriers.

    • jay

      It;s actually. $80 more for 16GB and $80 more for the 32GB…

  • Ickster

I was just told I can’t get my promised SIII from customer retention until the 29th…..

    • Kylie

      what did they promise you?

      • impasse

and for how much, and on what plan (minutes, data, etc.)..

    • Bingo, I was told the same thing too.

  • Dave Lima

On T-mobile.com for upgrades it shows, for me with full upgrade, at $379. Why is that? I am really up set that they push the date for the rest of the Us that do not live in their Important cities, but I still want that phone.

  • Cnote

I remember reading an article here that TMO new CEO believes that phones should not be subsidized…I wonder if this is why the phone is so high at release?

    • Dumbazz

no t mobile phones are generally higher cost for the same phone as other carriers might sell for a little less but you save more with t mobile so at the end of the day you’re spending more with that other carrier to get the phone for less initially.
      of course

  • Cnote

I remember reading an article here that TMO new CEO believes that phones should not be subsidized…I wonder if this is why the phone is so high at release?

  • P T

I haven’t seen it in person yet, but I think the biggest turn off for me on this phone is its size. I have been eyeballing the S II which is already huge for a guy who carries my phone in my front pocket. The S III is even bigger (although thinner and a bit lighter, its area is bigger).

I just wish the Galaxy Blaze came with the same camera as the S II and I would be all over that one.

    • Its the same size thinner than the s2. Just made the screen larger for more real estate.

    • fixxmyhead

maybe u should wear some guy pants. the phone is very pocketable with guy jeans

      • Guest911

Lot of us do wear guy pants but dont carry man purses around. Good for you though!

    • Sanman202

GS2 fits fine in jean pockets. I carry it everyday that way.

      • Sanman202

Unless someone is wearing super skinny type jeans. I hope not!..lol

  • Tmobile

This is BS…. $250+ for a phone w/ 2 yrs contract while others are $200.00

    • Sanman202

You want the phone on release date you have to pay the price. It’s at least not the full $629.99 for the 16gb version that they charge for off contract. If you buy new phones every 6 month or so then it can get expensive. If you have not treated yourself to a new phone in the last two years then $250 is not too bad. Also, TMobile plans are not as high per month.

      • mescam

I would be fine with 250..  but it is 329.  almost 400 out the door.  and MAYBE a MIR?

        • Sanman202

$250 should be the threshhold with any device with how technology changes so much. What you bought today was old yesterday. The GS4 rumors will be flying soon. It’s all a matter if the device has what you need and most of them do the basic stuff. It’s a matter of having the latest and greatest for some of us. The GS2 is still a great device and for what I use the phone for the GS3 is not necessary. The GS2 is what the Vibrant should’ve been and that’s why I upgraded fast from the Vibrant. Did the homeworkd and knew the technology in the GS2 would be sufficient for a while for what I use the phone for. If someone has the Vibrant and missed on getting the GS2 I would definitely say go for the GS3 if you can swing it.

    • Dumbazz

okay genius go to another carrier and pay more per month and in the end you pay more. Please for the love of god get a friggin clue

  • smithgo

this had me wondering if tmobile ever gets the iphone the price will be also higher than others? or otherwise if they price it 199 w/contract then samsung and HTC will have a marketing disadvantage.

  • smithgo

android has come a long way since the G1. it surpassed my own expectations look at this phone so perfect. I always knew Android would be a success but it surpassed my own expectations. and its sad that most bloggers write about how this success will not last or is near end, but I don’t see it. If you are a tech lover you must had loved how the little green guy went to the top

  • Kuko_ako

Washington, DC is listed as one of the top 29 markets. I’ve just been to three different stores and none of them has the Samsung Galaxy S III — no, not even a dummy one.

    • BrianB

I was told yesterday by a rep at a location in Laurel that the location in Wheaton Mall would have them today.

    • 21stNow

Silver Spring and Waldorf should have them.

  • Francesco Borruso

getting it for 79.99 through retentions :)

    • Taron19119

      How tell me how

      • Francesco Borruso

I have been a customer for 11 years and I told them I would be switching over to Sprint since they are offering it for 199.99 so the very nice lady gave me a $200 credit to my account to offset the price when I buy it in the store.

        • LC

Just make sure you know that you can’t charge the cost of the phone to you’re account unless you’re on the value plan.

      • Corey21

he not getting that shit for 79.99 they’d let him leave b4 that discount.

    • Dumbazz

      Ya right .

    • This is a lie too.

      • Francesco Borruso

na why dont you try to see if you can get it too instead of calling people liars?

      • Francesco Borruso
  • Guest

I called to cancel my account and retention sold me one for 179 so I would stay.

    • This is a lie.

      • Auser72

Its a DAMN LIE!!!!!! I did get a full upgrade six months ahead of eligibility through customer loyalty. I love Tmobile!!!!!!

  • Angelboy66

I can only guess what will be the galaxy note price if it ever get launched on tmob

  • Guest

Costco will have it next week according to the rep there.

    • sharklover

My store said tomorrow. Should have had today.

  • This is some crap! I went to my local t-mobile store in the Detroit market and they didn’t have any! They told me only ONE store in MICHIGAN recieved the phones and here’s the kicker….IT”S NOT EVEN A CORPORATE STORE!!! I’m really, really pissed right now! I’ve never been this disappointed at t-mobile in my life!

    • ME

Chris the only store in michigan that is receiving the device is the 12 Oaks location, which is a corporate location.

      • Oh. Well, that was what the t-mobile store I went to told me. The store in Novi right?

        • ME

Yep, they sent out a list to all employees of the corporate store that would have the phones and that was the closest on. The other 2 were in Indiana, it sucks but it is what it is.

        • Oh ok. I just made the drive to Novi and picked mine up! Can’t wait to play with it!

  • johnny melara

    nevermind

  • Dags

Anybody knows if BestBuy will sell this phone on Tmobile? Called them couple of days ago and the person I talked to had no clue. Thanks.

  • I just called to cancel my service stating the fact that I missed many opportunities to get free/cheaper brand new phones since One S came out because T-Mobile neglected to share pricing until the last minute.

I was told the Galaxy 3 is not in their system yet for them to do anything with, the retentions department.  The best they could do is CALL ME BACK on the 27th to see if they can do anything for me.

You cannot order this phone through customer service at this time, only on the website.

    • Francesco Borruso

you should have asked for the credit like I did, its already posted on my account

      http://oi50.tinypic.com/sg258n.jpg

      • Hardheadpunk

I laugh when people ask for free phones, service, ext and the argument is always ” I’m a loyal customer” …. Do you call your utility company, water company, cable company, insurance company, ext for free service. No! Francesco get a job and get off welfare which I’m sure you are on.

        • Ken Sze

lol i actually do for cable…well satellite cause directv is just horrible when it is raining or if there is trees growing and then i tell them to give me some credit to my account because of the service or free HBO

        • Hardheadpunk

My thing is why stay with a company that you are not happy with. Everyone has free will to do whatever they want, but ranting about a terrible service or pricey equipment all of this can easily be fixed by moving to the next best thing. For example, I hated my “satellite service” for the same reasons so I switch to uverse which Is more expensive but my headaches went away and I love the service I am getting.

        • Jimmyds17

He just being smart Hardheadpunk.  Who doesn’t want free stuff?

      • Jimmyds17

Thanks! I believe you.  I got all my phone free from T-Mobile.  I am waiting til next week to call them to get the phone instead of credit.

    • Francesco Borruso

next time ask for a credit on the account, mine has already been posted.  I tried posting a screenshot but it says it has to be approved by a moderator -_-

    • zeke

don’t let the door knob hit ya where the good Lord split ya!

  • Melloo16

Seems like there is some confusion about the MIR..I tried to use my upgrade to get the 16gb this morning online and it was 329 with no Mir mentioned unless u were getting it as a new customer…I’m gonna go to the store and check

  • Bajamin

Why can’t people do simple math? “I’m going to switch to a new company and pay double the monthly rate to save a total of $70!!!!” Is everyone a troll or are people really this stupid?

    • Uhm no.  I can switch to any other carrier and pay the same rate, or $10 more for a larger, faster coverage area, and get the phone for $200 less.

      • Bajamin

That’s funny because there were test done showing T-Mobile as the fastest in 8 citites and very comparable speeds throughout the nation. It also showed Sprint at laughable speeds. And now they are rolling out LTE.
As far as price you are WAY off. Below are pricing as of TODAY for ONE line of service.
T-mobile unlimited TTW (with throttle above 2gb) is $79.99
ATT with 2GB LIMIT is $120
        Verizon with 2GB LIMIT $120
Sprint with crap speeds and high dropped call rate (6% roughly) $109.99

So yeah it is retarded to complain about $70 for a phone.

        • Sprint is actually $99 and the data is uncapped. In addition, the phone can be bought at Sprint for $150-$180.

        • LC

$99 isn’t for their completely unlimited minutes though, just the 450 with unlimited any mobile. The $109 has the full unlimited minutes.

        • Bajamin

No, sorry. The below is copied and pasted from Sprint. Note the $109.99 for SMARTPHONES

          UnlimitedMinutes$99.99 /mo** $109.99 for smartphones

        • James

T-Mobile service could be faster however, they lack coverage. I think that was Dave’s point.

        • Bajamin

I think you should read more, James. Personal anecdotes about coverage and speed =/= facts.

          http://www.tmonews.com/2012/06/t-mobiles-hspa-network-takes-on-lte-in-pc-mags-latest-speed-tests/

      • zeke

name 1 carrier that has “faster coverage” whatever that means.and where you are getting the same plan at the same rate. i mean the same features. lets compare apples to apples here pal.  #weseeyoutrolling

        • Faster and MORE coverage.  I don’t live in a metro area so T-mobile’s coverage is poor.  They only rolled out 3g in the last 2 years to my area.  AT&T and Verizon dominate coverage in this area with 4g speeds everywhere.  Understand now?

        • Herb

I missed the part where AT&T and Verizon charge you an equal rate.

        • Zeke

          Again, see my comment above.

      • guidomus_maximus

buy a calculator.  you are paying $80 more but you save $20 per month. you get the $80 back in four months + 20 month of saving $20 per month.  The same phone costs several hundred dollars more

        • Therealmikebrown

We are paying $130 more, there is no rebate for upgrades.
Not to mention if you have more than 1 line, if you want to upgrade 3 lines that’s $390 more. With 24 month contracts, thats over 15 a month.
Add corporate discounts of the other carriers of up to 24% and T-Mobile really doesn’t save you money. Put that in you calculator.
Just so everyone knows T-Mobile has a PTA discount of 15%. All you have to do is join your kids PTA and give T-Mo your membership #. this will lower your plan a little.

        • Herb

No rebate for upgrades? Where did you get this information?

    • GwapoAko

Best comment so far!!!! Someone on this site thought I am stupid for posting comparison of total annual cost of owning this beast!!!

    • Smart Customer

I actually am paying 5 dollars less than I was paying at T-Mobile on Verizon. Plus, I get WAY better reception when I travel, which is why I need it.

  • sharklover

Sad I went to costco and they did not get them in. Said was held up at customs. Should have tomorrow but each store only getting 5.

  • Jon_brun1

I can’t even get it online at any price. Been TMO ten years. Upgrade ready.

  • CalmDown

Lmao…. Some of u are ranting and raving bout the price, but when the 27th roll around and other places are offering it for 199 u will run out and get it and be all happy and snuggly w your SGS3.

    • zeke

      shut up.

  • Spanky

7 years for me, and I’m leaving next month, albeit not because of the GSIII pricing. I need data speeds higher than the 0.5 Mbps downstream that T-Mobile offers in my area, and I’m certainly willing to pay a bit more for the service that I need.

  • Ordered mine at 6:15 am. I ordered the Pebble Blue 32GB model. Cost me with tax a little over 400 bucks. OUCH. Should have it in a few days. This is a beast and I have never been so excited about any phone. Thank You T-Mobile

  • justin

Costco does not have it yet, I wad told to check back tomorrow. Also they have no idea on pricing(I can’t understand that). Walmart has no idea if they are getting it, they told me that it is not released yet.

    • Keenan K Stephens

Hey I just got off the phone with Best Buy and the guy told me that they WIL carry it and the price will be 199.99. With a new 2 year agreement. But they don’t have any in yet. :-( I’m positive walmart will carry it and they are usually the cheapest out of every one.

  • slayr

Just placed order for blue 32G, was upgrade ready, in NYC paid  $440 total for estimated delivery 6/29. I get to keep my current plan which is cheaper than for new customers but resent not getting $50 MIR and paying $18 upgrade and $5.99 shipping.  We should get something for customer loyalty.  I’m buying the hype and looking forward to upgrade from Vibrant.

    • Rdog24x

Why do we have to pay an $18 upgrade fee if were upgrading for 2 years… really bad customer loyalty if you ask me.

      • Darnell

So let me guess you have been with T mobile for only what 6 years and expect them to waive that fee. So then since you have been shopping at your local grocery store for 10 years next your going to walk in and demand $100 in free groceries because you have been so “loyal.” Then go to the car dealership that you got your car from 3 years ago and tell them we’ll since I’m still paying for it where is my free oil change? Learn there is no “loyalty” anymore, it called “long term.” They might give you special perks online like a free phone when you upgrade that you can’t get in stores but not the newest. As for the upgrade fee, quit crying like a baby and pay it. It is only $18 bucks. If you don’t want to, take your “loyalty” to any other major player in the game and pay their now $36 upgrade fee. But since your complaining over $18 bucks you probably will cry over theirs too.

        • Rdog24x

Correction Darnell I’ve been with T-mobile before they were even T-mobile… they were Voicestream or something but that’s besides the point.  I get a plan to have options to upgrade yet getting charged a fee when I’ve been a loyal customer for over 15+ years.  Yeah its only $18 but for what? for a phone that’s already being charged a ridiculous price to begin with I don’t understand..

        • Millneral

People love to complain about upgrade fees but fail to look at other companies. Verizon and AT&T just raised there ugprade fee to 36.00! Not sure about Sprint but I’m sure there fee is higher than 18.00. Point is to stop complaining. All companies have it and I’m sure Verizon or AT&T don’t give a d*** how long you been with them, you want to upgrade then you pay a fee.

        • UMA_Fan

          Sprint is $36 as well.

        • UglyPete

ahem… verizon is $30. Att is 36. Sprint is 37.

        • Hardheadpunk

Rdog24x if the upgrade fee is too much, if the phone is too much, what does that tell you? You can’t afford it, so settle for an exhibit II. Just how I want a Ferrari that I can’t afford it so I bought A challenger. You can only stretch a dollar so far lmao!

        • Rdog24x

I can afford it you dumbfuck, I just don’t see the point in having a plan that entitles me eligible for upgrades every 22months (which is shit anyways) yet I still have to pay to upgrade my phone.  Not to mention there NOT giving it to us at the cheapest price.  New customers get it for $280 but I have to pay $320… give me a break

        • UMA_Fan

Switch to the Value Plan if you think it’s too much.  No upgrade fees there.

      • Spanky

Although I’ve paid this fee every time I upgraded, I feel that it’s just another BS nickel and dime attempt.

      • UMA_Fan

It’s $36 upgrade fee with EVERY OTHER national carrier.

If you hate it so much, switch to the Value Plan where there are NO upgrade fees.

    • exeot

I’m upgrading from the vibrant too but $440 is throwing a lot of BS on us customers. That scares me. I mean you can get an unlocked galaxy nexus for $400 straight from Google. This is $440(!!) with a 2 year contract! That shouldn’t be legal to do IMO

      • slayr

Of the $440, $36 NY tax which is unavoidable.  Better than full $679 for which Joan Finn can’t even buy phone.  I bit the bullet since waiting for it to reach stores may take even longer.

      • Spanky

Absolutely ludicrous, if you ask me. I remember when the MyTouch 4G came out, it was the flagship T-Mobile phone at the time, and was priced at $449 off contract.

      • If you guys want to see something funny, head over to the T-mobile USA facebook page. They are getting slaughtered. Wouldn’t want to be that mod right now.

    • Dumbazz

so let me get this straight…..
T-Mobile allows you to keep a grandfathered plan which is lower than their current plans yet you don’t think this is rewarding you for being loyal?
Some of you blow my mind was how moronic you are

    • Jaygqitalia

Why the hell would anyone buy the 32gb? Is it that hard to buy an sd card on ebay for like 8 dollars. Doesnt make sense to me

  • Joan Finn

I tried to purchase today at full price through tele-sales since their website does not allow you to purchase full price (unlike the other carriers). They told me they could not sell it without a contract. When I told him I thought that was ridiculous he blamed Samsung and said they wouldn’t let them sell it off contract. This is outrageous, I have a T-mobile pre-paid plan because I get it cheaper than on contract and I resent signing up for 2 year contacts.

    • Alli

Haha you expect Tmo to dish out a phone like this because you have prepaid. There is no loyalty in the prepaid game. They want you for at least 2 years. What says you don’t take it and jump ship? That’s the reason they won’t sell it to you.

      • whosaidwhat

Your comment makes no sense. They have a set price of $630 for people who don’t want to be on contract. Why shouldn’t they sell it? Why even bother advertising the full price if you don’t want to sell the phone at full price?

The idea of full price mean he can buy it and do with it whatever he wants. jump ship? Why is that their business? He’s paying in FULL.

        • Dumbazz

sorry that T-Mobile will hold your hand like a little princess you are.  I can understand why on the release date they may not have any available for full price sale.
I hope this doesn’t break your heart maybe you just need to wait a week gasp

  • I got my Galaxy S III a bit ago, I love it!  got it from one of only two stores in Michigan that got shipments and I was the first customer to buy it – D

    • mrsbelpit

Did you get the blue?  I’m really curious how the blue looks in person.

      •  I got the blue and I really like the color a lot but the thing you have to know is the color looks different in different light.  SOmetimes it looks more blue, other times it looks almost black.

  • Nashamacck

you guys are a bunch of babies about a phone !!!! that you might not NEVER get soo hush and go play on your current phones and just wait until the 27th it goes NATIONAL !!!!

  • This is so FUBAR! I was just at Wal-mart for an hour (where they had TWO S3’s, which they showed me).  The phone wasn’t in their system yet, so after calling manager after manager, it was determined that they are not authorized to sell me the phone until the 25th.  They claimed that this decision came from Wal-Mart corporate headquarters, who said there were two release dates for this phone, and that they weren’t selling the phone until the 25th.

I ultimately ended up placing an order online for the 16GB white version, which said it was not available for immediate shipping.  The t-mobile lady on the phone couldn’t give me a straight answer on if they currently had any inventory, so I have no idea when I’ll be getting this phone.

I’ve been with T-Mobile for 6 years, and this is the most frustrated I’ve ever been with them!

    • TheReder

What was the price at Walmart?

      • They had no idea. When I got there, they were trying to use walmart.com as their resource to find the specs for their display model card. The only version of the SIII on their website is the unlocked one.

      •  The Wal-mart was in Lancaster County, PA, which is by no means one of their biggest markets. They had no idea what the price was, nor did they have any information on the specs for their display model info card.  They were trying to look it up the info on the Wal-mart website, which only has the unlocked version.

    • Guest

What walmart was it? what city?

    • Justinreynolds98

THeyre shipping immediately to new customers. If you go to tmobile.com and order like a new customer it says with express shipping youll have it tommorrow and regular shipping is the 25th. When current customers go to do a upgrade it says this item is not available for immediate shipment.

  • sharklover

Its amazing how tmobile can rip customers that buy direct when it will be available for $199 from other retail stores.Everyone buying them at redulous prices will feel pretty stupid. What an idiotic move on they made. they will lose many customers because of this eventhough it will be $199 elsewhere.

    • Jared

It’s called corporate America, tmobile knows that customers who really want the phone will pay the price. And if the price is too steep for you, get a second job.

      • Yes because people who have money don’t ever try to save as much as possible.

        • Dumbazz

people who can afford things don’t come on the forums and bitch and moan and act as if a company owes them something

        • Jared

Hands down best comment. Thank you dumbazz

      • Dumbazz

        no doubt

    • Dumbazz

you apparently don’t understand the business world.  These other retailers bring in more business for T-Mobile so in essence T-Mobile is protecting their retailers and making it more attractive for potential retailers to sell their product.
They will only lose customers who are bottom feeders anyway.  Not much of a loss really

  • Jared

I am tired of people complaining about the price of the GSIII, If you can’t afford it then deal with it because your cries are laughable!

  • Francesco Borruso

has anyone gotten a phone through telesales? they keep telling me they dont have any available when i call customer service … i dont know if there is a different number to call though

    • Chip

They told me they are not allowed to sell them over the phone. You must order from online.

  • Melloo16

so almost no store in ny has it, guess that’s what you call a big market..smfh

  • Chip

Really needed a new phone right away since my LG G2X was stolen yesterday.. tried to purchase the GS3 through the online upgrade and the price came back at $630 even though I’m eligible for early upgrade. On top of that, it won’t ship ’til next week. I said F*** it and bought a Galaxy Nexus! Here’s to hoping it’s a good phone (definitely will be an upgrade over the G2X that some low-life thief decided to steal from me yesterday!)

    • Spanky

You’ll love the Galaxy Nexus. I’ve been using one since last December and it’s the best smartphone I’ve ever had.

  • Edy6401

I live in Detroit, MI. there are no stores in Detroit that had the phone. Two stores a few towns over had a couple, and they are out. Tmobile has handled this as bad as they could have. The few phones available online are only being given out to new customers and line additions. they will NOT let you upgrade online. what a joke!

  • Khult

worst release ever for a phone in phoenix. they must have shipped 50 to the state. come on t-mobile fix your distribution and pull your head out of your ass

    • Empty Handed

Went to Paradise Valley Store in Phoenix. They refused to sell me a phone without contract. I wanted the $30 unlimited web monthly 4g plan. No contract? No phone. I left empty handed. Very disappointed. Looking at AT&T now.

  • Guest2089

I have to say I am disappointed about the price. After all the other companies announced it would be 199.99 for the 16gb version, I said “there is no way T-Mobile won’t do the same” BOY WAS I WRONG!!! And what happened to the 229.99 pricing (after 50.00 MIR)?? Unless I’m reading it wrong, it appears that the price is not 279.99 after the 50.00 MIR? What is going on?

    • Dumbazz

what’s going on is you can’t afford it.

  • According to my calculation, in 2 year run, the T-Mobile offer is the cheapest option among other carriers to have Galaxy S III, which is 106.66 per month including plan, fees & device cost. AT&T 148.32 and Sprint 118.32

    http://www.cheap-phones.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-arrives-t-mobile-price-cheap-however-something-consider/

  • JBuckets

This is ridiculous!  I am in Chicago and I called a store that said they will have it on the 27 and they have no way of knowing if any other store in the city has it.  1800 was even worse, lying to me in saying that they received a memo this morning that ALL sales had been pushed back a week.  This is embarrassing to TMobile and further proves that they are a joke!

    • Dumbazz

      BOOOO HOOOOO HOOOOO

  • Sam

Does anyone know in which store Houston has them? Cuz I went to a couple of stores and they told they will get them the 27th and then in the same store a lady told the guy that was talking to me that they will actually get them next month…..I also called some stores but none of them knew anything…..

    • Kristina Boshernitzan

The T-Mobile store inside the Galleria has them (as of this morning).  I got mine today :)

  • Mikelfl

Just an fyi…. The Samsung offer of 50gb of free dropbox for two years is valid. I just set up my phone and I was credited the 50gb to my dropbox account. Sorry if this was mentioned before.

  • Dcsouthgw

I haven’t heard much about the 64 gb world model let alone if it will be offered with the us chipset at all. I also thought I saw something about the snapdragon set up being not compatible with the 64 gb micro sd’s. Any thoughts?

  • Yasser

I am going to wait my upgrade in July. At least the price will get down. And walmart will have it no doubt less than tmobile.

  • smiley47

    Banner in T-Mobile board room:
OVER PROMISE AND UNDER DELIVER IS OUR MOTTO.

  • JBuckets

Even Better! I just spoke with a store and they told me that there are a total of FIVE stores in Chicago selling the phone.  When pressed for details EVERY SINGLE ONE is miles from downtown.  THe claim that they launched today in Chicago is a BOLDFACED LIE!

    • Jose Hernandez

They did the same thing here in Detroit. Tmobile is WRONG!!!

    • MikeOlson

Are you willing to share? When I called stores around Chicago they said they didn’t even know which stores had it.

    • Rdog24x

they did lincolnwood had them in stock but for 16gb it was 380 after the mail in rebate… screw that Ill wait till wed and get a white one anyways… sounds like costco offering for 199 with same 2 year upgrade

  • Gary

Just looked on the website. Only the 32gb versions are available, FOR $379.99 with a 2 year contract extension. With NO mail in rebate, I repeat, NO MIR. Add the taxes, upgrade fee, shipping, and the total comes to $440-450. This is ridiculous. I guess my G2 will have to do for now.

    • Dumbazz

Bummer sucks when you cant afford something.

      • david can’t ban me

Shut ur fat sit infront Of a laptop and look at teen porn a%% down bum

        • Dumbazz

          English is soooo overrated.

  • auser72

Premium top of the line taste with a discounted low -mid tier budget….lol!!!! You want the best you have to pay for the best.

  • Leesa

Hay the Galaxy 3 is at Lafayette Rd store 9741in Indy these guys & gals are great ive got my phone!

  • justinreynolds98@hotmail.com

I tried to order the S3 online with a full upgrade and it said the phone is not available for immediate shipment, but you can still buy it. Then I went to the regular website like a new customer and at checkout it said with express shipping Id have it tomorrow and ups ground I would have it by the 25. So it looks like there shipping the phones to new customers and making us wait. I called customer care and called them out on it, The guy was nice but just gave the company line. If you don’t believe me try for yourself. All 4 models are available for immediate shipment for new customers. I posted this a hour ago but they said it had to be reviewed by a moderator and I haven’t seen the post yet.. All anyone has to do is go to the website and check. You get good information on this site but they’re probably in the sack with T-Mobile. Oh and customer loyalty gave me a huge credit!

    • Jose Hernandez

I tried this as well, even at the stores. They ask you if you are upgrading or adding a new line. If you are a new customer or are adding another line, they go to the back and call it in, then you are allowed to get the phone. I saw it happen myself while getting on the waiting list for next week. Tmobile is full of crap. They are not letting their customers get the phone as an upgrade, just on new lines and brand new contracts.

      • Mikelfl

My store in Orlando had a line of about 30 people at opening and 95% were upgrading their phones and we all were able to purchase the 16gb pb phone, no problems. And,the 50 mir also applies to upgrades

    • A huge credit for what?

    • Dumbazz

LOL! WOW imagine that a company having systems in place of how they will sell a product.
      Do you need  a tissue?

    • You probably shouldn’t have used your email as your screen name, bro.

  • Dumbazz

The amount of princesses who cry on this forum never ceases to amaze me AND PROVIDE HOURS OF COMEDY!

    • VegasDude73

^ Biggest princess of them all

      • Dumbazz

        BUUUUUUURRRRRRRNNNNNNN

  • Dumbazz

also you crybabies need to stop comparing this to the galaxy nexus.
Just go buy one off of Google and stop complaining like a whiny little bitch

    • Dumbazz

oh and enjoy your 4G which you won’t get

      • souggie

I get 4g on my nexus, the hell you talking bout?

      • Spanky

        What? Check your facts.

  • TrUsTmEi

Extremely disappointed in the pricing from Tmobile.  ATT & Sprint are selling the Galaxy S3 for 199.99 on a 2 year contract renewal or new customer through Best Buy.  What the F*** really, what is Tmobile trying to prove, they are the 4th Top Carrier for a reason and now I see why.  Contracts up in 2 months and I’m out.

    • GwapoAko

You will be paying more with ATT, Verizon or Sprint. Do your math first before you move to another carrier  :0)

    • Dumbazz

      Ok CYA. Enjoy paying more!

  • Dumbazz

also you babies crying about, “customer loyalty”  seem to be in denial that as a loyal customer you may have a grandfathered plan that is much lower cost than what new customer can get.
somehow though that’s not good enough for some of you  crybabies.
T-Mobile should give you a lower plan than what a new customer can get plus give you full discount on a new phone and let you keep your old plan.

    • VegasDude73

Yeah grandfathered until they tell you, oh no you can’t upgrade until you switch your data plan. This phone requires the new data plan.

No it doesn’t you morons. I still have my G1 unlimited data plan on my 4G device from you. Guess what? It works!

      • Dumbazz

Ya god forbid as a business they have certain rules and stipulations if you want the highest of high-end phones and don’t have the cash to buy it outright.
Honestly if someone has one of the cheap grandfathered plans and hasn’t upgraded in a while and they don’t have the money to buy it outright they shouldn’t be buying a phone even subsidized.

    • VegasDude73

Data plans, and Phones are two separate things you Dumbazz troll. Apparently you skipped that part of your training. See rule #15 and #17 for a refresher course. Summed up with rule #127

  • vsukid

I Can completely understand my upgrade price being 329 for 16GB because I only pay 165 for two lines so yeah I understand. Completely justifiable

  • imsonic

I called several places in Chicago and nothing…..until next week!!!

    • Dumbazz

      OMG!! GASP!!!
Will you be okay for a week do you think?

      • imsonic

        Yeah!! Sarcastic person!!!

        • ETphoneHome

I called WalMarts in Naperville and Elmhurst and both have 16 gig Blue pebbles. Costco in Orland Park has them tomorrow. But no one could give me pricing, but said they thought they would be 199 with 2 yr contract so idk anymore haha

        • Dumbazz

We are here for you if you need us!

  • Illsellyoursoul

they have a shit load of SIIs that they don’t want to sell under $199. that is the reason for the price.

  • Funny how everyone on here who is complaining says they are leaving TMO.Maybe that’s why the are only selling to new customers! I have compared plans with other carriers and they don’t even come close to what I have been paying at TMO for the last 10 years so I will be patient and wait for all the craziness to subside and get the phone at a later date.

    •  Even new customers won’t come that. They all go to Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. Big problem $279 while Verizon, AT&T and Sprint 199.

  • Zabaniya

    $279 AFTER $50 rebate…>.> wow

    • Dumbazz

do you have any clue how much each phone actually costs to make and how much T-Mobile pays for the phone?

      • Nitefallz

        You certainly don’t.

        • Dumbazz

Points just sail over your head dont they.
BTW how do you know I don’t?

        • VegasDude73

because you didn’t post it Dumbazz. Now you’re googling. Noob.

      • Zabaniya

oddly enough i do actually. tmobile gets the phones via a contract and on average its roughly $150 they get it for. the actual raw phone cost per unit is around $50-$75 lol. i work with the smaller micro controllers and the internal hardware and am well aware of their prices. Tmobile and most other phone companies make a fortune from the services they provide. the phones are mostly for marketing/gaining customers.

  • Dqperry1987

Y’all are some cry babies, if it so expensive shut up and go elsewhere but then think about how much more you will pay for the rate plan. Especially of you are on a family plan. smh whining azz people!

  • B-Mobile

has anyone verified pricing at Wal-Mart or Costco?

I havn’t found a T-Mo SGIII on either website. but i have seen $199 sprint, & at&t SGIII on both sites

    • ETphoneHome

Nope they all tell me that pricing hasn’t been released but they do have them.

  • Mark

It’s really just another day in the life of a loyal T-Mobile customer…

If it’s not poor phone selection it’s always something else….like betraying our loyalty with the attempt to sell us off to ATT.  Today they reward our loyalty with a higher price on the latest phone (than other carriers), no rebate, no free shipping, and an upgrade charge.

Mind you, it’s not a matter of what I can afford.  I’m just of the mindset that I’d prefer not to feel like I spent too much.  That’s why I’m waiting to see what Costco or Wal-Mart lists it for.  I’ve been waiting for this phone this long, I can wait another week or two.

Overall though, I am still a happy T-Mobile customer…and I appreciate their plans and their strategy for service.  So they don’t have the best price on the hardware…that’s ok.  Maybe they don’t want to be a ‘hardware company’…maybe they’re just really good at offering good service at a good value.  And using their service, I certainly don’t feel like I spend too much…

    • Tbyrne

You’ve echoed my thoughts exactly. Thanks for not crying like the other babies on here.

  • avengerzx9

Just talked to a Costco rep, they have the 16GB S3 T-Mobile for $199.

    • avengerzx9

This is the Costco in Long Beach

    • VegasDude73

That’s why I always laugh at the TMO retail stores. Anyone that buys there is an idiot. Costco membership is $55 a year, and you get cheaper gas, and cheaper phones. Walmart has cheaper phone prices too over the retail stores.

It just boggles my mind lol

      • whiteiphoneproblems

Do they sell phones at a lower Full Retail Price than TMO’s, or is it just the on-contract price that’s lower? (Also, I assume they don’t do EIP?)  Thx

        • ETphoneHome

Walmart sellin full price for 599

      • 21stNow

Their gas isn’t cheaper in my area, even though you can’t tell with the long lines that they have for gas.

  • Dumbazz

oh and to those of you who are crying about leaving for another carrier….
    99.99999999999% of humanity doesn’t give 2 shits.
I am sure T-Mobile is also quaking in their boots because on some anonymous forum someone is crying about leaving.

    •  I love people like this that just don’t get it. Makes me laugh that 99.99999999999% of humanity thinks like this.

  • whiteiphoneproblems

Something interesting is that you can trade in your old phone to Samsung; the resulting rebate may be close to the retail price difference that comes with buying the phone through TMO:
    http://www.samsungupgrade.com/

For example, that site says that Samsung will send me $75 if I trade in my Vibrant, which nearly equals the $80 more I’ll be paying to buy the GSIII at TMO’s retail price than at AT&T’s. Now, I may be able to get even more for the Vibrant by selling it on eBay — but for those who don’t want to hang onto their old phone, and also don’t want to deal with the hassle of selling it (and provided it’s in good condition), this may be a way to alleviate the sting of the TMO price uptick.

    • JBLmobileG1

What would be smart on Samsungs part is if they offered a trade in deal from say HTC or another smartphone manufacturer. Sorta like upgrade to us from the competition and save!

      • whiteiphoneproblems

Well, that wouldn’t help me so much, lol… ;)

      • whiteiphoneproblems

To clarify, though — you can trade in any kind of phone through that site, not just a Samsung…

      • $6 for my G1. Haha.

  • Bybochka

Got one blue 16gb in the Bronx store. They still have a few more left…

  • Lcoy2003

If you are a new customer you can order through sales, however if you want to upgrade you have to wait until next week

  • Arvin

i dont understand why this website always fails to mention upgrade pricing.

    • Edy6401

I hope you are joking. you can’t be that slow. the upgrade pricing is listed at the top in the begging of the posting. did you not read?

      • Arvin

It is not you retard that is for new contracts

upgrade price = 330 no rebate GTFO

  • Guest

If you’re in the PHX area, the store in Avondale (99th & McDowell) has some blue 16GBs left. I’m gonna wait till I can get a 32 tho.

    • Az_Native

       Thank you for the info!

  • guidomus_maximus

David you really have to do something about the trolls on this site.

    • Dumbazz

yes I agree I am sick and tired of all the crybabies complaining about how much the phone is, how they are going to leave T-Mobile, etc. some of these people need a hug

    • Guest911

Agree, we have to get rid of you people.

  • Dave Mallari

does anyone know how much it is at costco or walmart?

    • avengerzx9

       199 at Costco, no rebate

      • Pnina_evans

         My Costco didn’t have it…

        • avengerzx9

They’ll get it after 2 PM today or tomorrow morning. I asked the rep to verify the 199 price for me and he pulled it up on his computer. He did not mention anything about free accessories though

        • sharklover

You get free accesories with all phones.

    • fenderbender

$199 at Costco. My local store isn’t getting any in until 6/27.

  • billy padilla

just got off the phone with best buy here in montebello california, and no tmobile s3’s available for either carrier. she mentioned, for tmobile, their website is the same as their system. so we could check availability by checking their site.

  • For those of you who upgraded through tmobile.com,
what is it saying for your “status” and “estimated delivery date”? mine
says “Being Processed” and 06/22/2012 (I did overnight shipping).

    • Citycrazed25

Same for me. In the little fine print it said that the phone may ship 6/25/2012. I also did overnight shipping. Also says being processed.

    • Pnina_evans

Did you actually do an upgrade? cause when I tried, it said it’s not available for shipping yet…

      • I think mine said that too, but I placed the order when I was on the phone with the retention/cancellation department, and she said to proceed with the order anyway.  She was trying to explain to me that since I was part of the pre-order, that I should proceed anyway.  I really wasn’t following what she was talking about.

    • Arvin

who upgrades over tmobile you really payed 410 dollars for a phone ?

      • CS252

How did you come up with that number?! you only pay $329.99 exc taxes, the $35.00 fee will appear on your first monthly billing statement. (16GB Model)*

    • CS252

I ordered mine @ 6:15am EST without any issues, order status has been shipped, estimated delivery date 6/25-6/28 Still waiting patiently :)

  • chicago buyer-i got mine at 10 oclock this mornig after wating a hour an half in line. i paid $329 for it. with tax and everything else it came out to be $389. Too high i told them and paid the bill. Nice phone anyway

    • exeot

Call and get the upgrade fee waived. Shouldn’t be much of a hassle and i’ve always done it for mine before. Not that it makes up much of the price anyway.

  • smiley47

Costco says they can’t sell no contract, full price phones.

  • Unkeebill

I got a 16gb pebble blue gs3 in Charlotte. It definitely is a welcome upgrade from the g2. I got to get acclimated to a bigger phone now though lol.

  • Kevinmarchibald

Are the marble white phones available anywhere today at a retail store (Costo, WalMart, T-Mobile stores, etc.)? The article only mentions a blue-only restriction for T-Mobile.com sales, even though the article picture shows a marble white model.

  • unfaix

Dallas/Fortworth is a fucking big place, with many t-mobile stores.  I’ve called six stores already, and al have Waiting list for next week.  What the shit is this?! where’s the actual location of the fucking store that has it?!

  • Joey1718

Can anyone tell me the difference between starting a new contract at Walmart vs a tmobile corporate store? Advantages and disadvantages?

    • Dumbazz

the only glaring difference I can think of is that if you have an issue with your phone you have to deal with whatever procedure Walmart has versus the ease with T-Mobile.
Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but if your phone has an issue and you call T-Mobile you can’t trade it out with T-Mobile.
also what is the warranty on the phone with Walmart is it a year like T-Mobile?
HAHA I got my Samsung galaxy S2 through target so I have no idea if my phone even has a one-year warranty like through T-Mobile

      • sharklover

Warrantee is through Tmobile returns are back to Walmart.

    • GS3

I would like to know as well.. I just called best buy and the lady said they’ll get it next week for 199.99… What is the difference from doing an upgrade to best buy or any other retailers than at tmobile..?

If im going to run into issues then i’ll just go to tmobile

  • Dumbazz

for those of you that are distraught over T-Mobile and the Samsung galaxy S3 there are many support groups out there including suicide prevention hotlines you can call to deal with this traumatic event in your life.

    • LoyalGuest ;)

LOL This has got to be the funniest post I’ve read today. Silly “loyal” T-Mo customers! hahaha. They’re bashing on their own company, threatening to switch..but they have yet to realize ALL carriers have backed up their date to the 27th. Idiots, I tell ya.

      • Dumbazz

Some guy above us is angry that they didnt publish the EXACT STORES in each area that will carry the phone.
As if you cant use your PHONE and CALL THEM!
MIND BLOWING some of the base stupidity on display here today.

  • s10shane

i called customer loyalty since they have to overwrite my upgrade and they said they wont have any until the 27th.. that freakin sucks! i guess i will go without a phone for another week since i took back my one s.

    • cm

The same thing kind of happened to me – returned my One S and had to wait until today for them to reset my upgrade tenure – so frustrating! at least it’s sorted now.

  • unfaix

Dallas/Fortworth is a big place with many t-mobile stores, it would be nice to actually be specific as to which stores in the DFW has them.

    • Dumbazz

it’s pretty crazy. Google maps allows you to search and even includes phone numbers.
In fact those phone numbers are even clickable so you can dial. CRAAAAAAAAAZY

      • unfaix

You make it sound like I did not use google map to look too T-Mobile and click on it to dial, and that once I got the rep on the phone that I didnt ask if they have it or not.

I actually called six stores and non have them and they wouldn’t tell me which one has, but wanted to get me on their list for next week.

    • Dumbazz

when you eat does someone hold your fork and sippy cup?

    • Joshuat Roland

I live in dfw too. Walmarts have them but apparently can’t sell them yet. Costco will sell tomorrow. No luck finding a tmobile retail store that has them.

    • Alxn

i got mine in mckinney this morning, plenty in stock

  • luis alvarez

hurry up get your galaxy s3 today because tomorrow it will be old school.  pictures leak of the new galaxy s4 android 5.0 jelly bean and 8.5 screen same design different number    hurry dump fuks

    • Guest

    • Luis

      Thanks, Luis. Good post.

  • Dumbazz

you know in a situation like this it helps if you fire off a few rounds from an AK-47 over a matter like this. get that anger out buddy! That mean ole Samsung Galaxy s3 HURT YOU!

    • unfaix

didnt think this one would actually be approved, thanks dumbass, you’re cool

  • Harddude5

The 399+ tax /shipping for a Galaxy Nexus from Google seems like a better deal and they are supposed to be offering several more new phones on their website in November. Patience.

  • Kmetzi01

In Los Angeles, one store in Hawthorne got SIII’s today. That is BS!

  • Guest

    Called
North Richland Hills, TX Walmart and they have it in stock

    • Josh

Are they selling it though. They told me they could not.

      • Bybochka

         My walmart sell them.he has 2 more,$650 each,16gb only

        • Josh

          Which one?

        • Josh

Wait. Ny. Nevermind. I went to my local store. They had it and had no way to ring it up. He even called a neighboring store. I’m over this.

    • Erc2003

Did they mention price by any chance?

      • Erc2003

I’m wondering the price if I have a full upgrade available. I called but the electronics guy just said that he is selling a laptop and put me on hold then I got rerouted to pharmacy :/

    • Bybochka

Yes,Long Island(NY) Walmart also have it,but full price of the phone is $650(T-Mobile-$630)

      • Bybochka

Iam interested in full price T-Mobile galaxy S3,and Walmart-$650,T-mobile-$630.
Walmart salesman told me,that $650 price is gonna stay for a while.

    • unfaix

I called, they have it in stock, but cannot sell them as they are not in the system for upgrade and new lines. They however, could sell at full price.

      • Cyclone

they told me same thing, contract price not in the system for staring new account, new line, upgrades. They can only sell at full price 650

  • Cyclone

They tell me next week stores will be flooded with galaxy s 3s

  • Taron19119

    Im geting one for 199.99

    • Bybochka

And after 2 yars of your service(just the data),you are going to end up paying over $700 for the phone.Do your math.

      • imsuperjp

and a lot of people use data and you will pay that with any carrier, so your point is stupid. Grow a brain

      • Taron19119

How when im geting one from t-mobile for 199.99

      • Arvin

that 20 dollars you pay is for a SERVICE not for a PHONE go back to school.

        • Taron19119

What are u talking about im geting it from t-mobile for 199.99

  • guest

just called the costco in fullerton and they told me that they will be getting the phone tomorrow for 199.00.

    • Traviedwards

Bastards didnt tell me the price when i called the one on clybourn. Whats the difference between costco, retail store, and 1800tmobile? Other then cost

  • Jared

T-mobile should have just delayed just like every other carrier. There are 29 “major” markets, i have a feeling they shipped roughly 2 phones per market if the availability here in sacramento is any indication. (there is some sarcasm in there, so don’t blow a gasket)

    • Being the first carrier to have it in the stores allows them to lock some people into contracts and to collect a little extra from the higher price. If released at the same time as other carriers, those same people may just skip to another carrier.

  • Eric Pederson

I’m in the Portland, OR market and only three T-Mobile stores here received this phone.  I got mine today in one of those three (SE of Portland in a suburb called Gresham).  This store claims to have 70 of them in stock as of this morning.

  • Bybochka

Costco might be the only place, where the Galaxy S3 full price could be lover, then $630(T-mobile price)
    Lets see it tomorrow…

    • ETphoneHome

nope, Walmart is $599 as well. At least in Naperville, IL it is.

      • Cyclone

they told me it is 650 without contract

        • ETphoneHome

Yeah it was wierd, they had a label saying it was 600 but it rang up 650

    • Scapegrace

You cannot buy phones off contract at Costco

      • Arvin

        this is true

  • Jdmap1

just went to my local costco in phx, nothing! told me next week

  • I was pleasantly surprised today when my store called (I was on the list) and said they had them in. Indianapolis isn’t on the 29 markets list.

  • edub1906

Can anyone confirm the price for the 16GB at Costco?  I am hoping for $249.00 w/ no rebate.

    • avengerzx9

       $199 in Long Beach, CA

      • edub1906

        Is that the upgrade price?

        • SGSIII

No… it’s the full retail price STUPID.

        • edub1906

Look you clown, my question is that the price for an upgrade or the price for NEW T-Mobile customer.  I see all of the idiots are out tonight in full force.

        • Grammatica di Polizia

Wow… in all caps too, I guess you meant it.

      • Remote_help

I am assuming you meant the one in Signal Hill, right?

    • TheReder

I just called my local Costco, and I was told $249 for the 16GB with no rebate. It comes with the accessory pack including screen protectors, leather case and car charger. I know where I’m going tomorrow.

      • Mm33

        they told me 199.99

        • Jdmap1

           $199 in Pheonix

    • spraynard

Called the local Costco and they said they’d be getting 10 of the 16GB Pebble Blue tomorrow morning…also told me that 30 people had called today asking about them so I doubt they’ll last long. The sales rep could not give me any information on pricing.

  • Josh

Really tempted just to buy the galaxy nexus due instead. My nexus s is getting laggy and just spent a ridiculous portion of a day off looking and waiting for a phone.

    • GS3

you guys ever wonder why they stopped making a 32gb version for the gnexus? to get more data plans maybe? if the gnexus came with both 32gb and 16gb in the US, it’d be a relevant device, it doesn’t make sense otherwise..

    • Paul1427

My Nexus S has been lagging lately too. If they hadn’t removed EIP for Value Plus plans I would have tried to buy one online today.

  • Jim Jiang

Let me say this, a store having these in stock is hit or miss,as they have  a wait list for people to first get the phones, then they are free to ell the remaining phones, so some store may sell out of all of them just by calling its wait list, soc heck a couple stores, and im 90% sure they will add alike a 80$ credit later at the full launch, as they are the ONLY carrier to have them ready to ship. So, If you want it first, pay 80$ or just wait, there will be a  price break.

    • GS3

yah most likely true.. i checked bestbuy website last night , their gs2’s were 249$ , i checked again earlier and the price went down to 149… same thing will happen on tmobile maybe next week..

tmobile will drop the price of the gs2, they need to… coz it’s an older device

      • GS3

it means the s3’s price will drop as well , hopefully.. lol

        • Marage19

S2 is free on tmobile.com today

      • Arvin

or they will raise the price of the gs3… oh wait… they raised both compared to other carrier.

  • B-Mobile

i have to say I’m a little disappointed: living in Richmond, Va i knew the t-mobile store wouldn’t have the phone in stock today. but not to have any dummy phones, or posters/pamphlets was very disheartening.neither did the local Walmart (no type of advertisement???)

  • Blklig

Got mine today at lunch and it’s amazing. Paid the 330 price tag but I’m satisfied. Cost about 390 after Tax and upgrade fee. Sd store had about 35 at each store so a total of 70 at that mall alone. Also, all the b.s. About no rebate for existing customers kid just that b.s. I got many mail in rebate soon as I paid for it

    • Arvin

What language are you using here ? It’s not English….

      • Blklig

one, i was using my phone and auto correct changed some words without me realizing it but whatever. if thats all you got out of what i said you must be a very disgruntled person anyways.

  • Blklig

Also, the screen on this phone is far better than the s2. If I notice any downfalls with it, which I haven’t thus far ill update you guys

    • Grammatica di Polizia

I think the screens can only get so good. But this is coming from someone who thought the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant screen was great, and my SGS II screen was excellent.

To each their own I guess. I would not pay $400 and sign a two year contract for a display that is supposedly “far better” than my SGS II display.

I don’t think it is far better anyway. I have not read any reviews that have said the SGS III display is “far better” than the SGS II screen. In fact, most reviews I have read said that if one has the SGS II it is NOT worth the money to upgrade to the SGS III.

But I am envious of your purchase. Before I went prepaid and on the “buy used phones only” route, I would have been right there with you, buying the SGS III and losing a night’s sleep using the phone.

I will have to be satisfied with walking into a T-Mobile store in about a month, to see what all the fuss is about. :(

      • Blklig

trust me there is a noticeable difference. also, there is so many cool features such as being able to take still photos while video recording, the cloud inbox with 50gb of space just to name a few. you’ll see once you have  it in your hands. i am honestly satisfied with the 390 i forked over.

        • Spanky

“there is so many cool features such as being able to take still photos while video recording”

That’s an ICS feature. With the recent ICS update, I’m pretty certain that the GSII will be able to do this as well.

  • Taron19119

SO WHAT ABOUT PHILLY I CALL 25 T-MOBILE STORES AND THAY ALL SAID THAY DON HAVE IT SO WHAT T-MOBILE STORE IN PHILLY HAS IT

    • Guest

I did the same thing here in Phoenix. No store had it. I called customer service yesterday and told me what store. They said they were getting it. I called them today to confirm and they never got it.

      • Jdmap1

Only one store in Phoenix got 3. All other stores don’t have it until next week.

      • Taron19119

customer service told me just one store in philly had it but did know what store it was but its ok cause cause next week im geting one for 199.99

        • Taron19119

          from the retention department

    • phills

You’ll be better off.  I know it suck but wait a few days and the target in south philly will most likely have it for the lower price (what im hoping for anyway)

  • SGSIII

Today I ordered the blue version of the GS3. I think the white back case  looks cheap (maybe too feminist or applish) and the blue one looks nice with the gradient: Check out for yourself .

  • Bkidko

So we are ok with paying close to $400 for a phone on a two year contract now?

    • Arvin

      whos we.

      • Bkidko

Tmobile customers. Why sign a contract and pay full price for a phone? Can you not get a plan without buying phone through Tmobile any longer?

        • Cyclone

Lets organize street protests in front of t mobile stores with signs” we want $199 back”

        • Bkidko

Haha. I think not buying yhe phone should do just fine. At least don’t waste an upgrade and buy phone elsewhere, make Tmobile give you a reason to buy hardware from them. I see people vuying screen protectors and cases and other, accessories as Tmobile store and I just cannot wrap my mind around it.

        • Spanky

” I see people vuying screen protectors and cases and other, accessories as Tmobile store and I just cannot wrap my mind around it.”

Ditto. Who in their right mind would pay $20 for a pack of 2 screen protectors when the same can be purchased on Amazon or eBay for about $2 (if that)?

        • 21stNow

No more postpaid month-to-month. You either have to do prepaid or sign a Value plan contract.

    • Grammatica di Polizia

Not me, not on a two-year contract. And it is $400 PLUS the additional amount one pays for the service. If I recall right, T-Mobile’s lowest individual plan is $80, plus $8 in fees and taxes. With other sign up fees, sales tax, etc. might as well say $90 monthly. That works out to $2560 total for a phone, or as some have said in here “just a phone.” That’s a lot of coin to pay for “just a phone” that has no computer functionality.

Post-paid carriers are like printer manufacturers. Sell the phone cheap, then nail people on the 24 month contract. Is it any wonder why carriers love post-paid contracts. Lock people in to draconian terms, and get them all caught up on avoiding payment of an ETF penalty (even if paying that will save them hundreds on the phone bill).

I am real curious what Verizon and AT&T make on TALK OVERAGE charges, and now with AT&T’s new AUTOMATIC DATA OVERAGE charges, they have to be making billions on that alone.

All a customer has to do is go over once or twice on talk and on data every year, that has to push up the monthly cost of individual service to $150+ (I remember when on my T-Mobile account my GF went over on her talk minutes twice in one year, I paid something like $400 in overage charges.)

That’s why I don’t mind paying $400 for a phone on eBay. I pay that and I am done with it. No overage charges on talk or data where I am at now, at Straight Talk prepaid. With prepaid there are no overage charges.

    • Factor24

Naw i walked out the store when they said 400

    • Spanky

My sentiments exactly. The fact that T-Mobile’s monthly fees are lower than those of other carriers is not the point. The $400 price point for a subsidized device is.

  • Francesco Borruso

Pebble blue 16gb is available on tmobile.com for upgrading if anyone is still looking

  • trackman1

Went to a T-Mobile store in Seattle today, they said that Seattle was pulled from the launch for the S3, and had it pushed to next week.

  • GS Fan

The Galaxy S2 is free on Tmobile.com. So they did drop the price due to the GS3.

  • Traviedwards

S2 is now free on the tmobile websiteS

    • Scarfacemario

You are correct its now free

  • Eunae Park

Hi, i am a big fan of tmonews!! :)
There is only classic plan about GS3 on your article.
And also in the tmobile website, only classic plan.
Why? I guess about 70~80% two-years contract customers are using value plan.
    I am just wondering.

  • Semi977

Is tmobile only selling the pebble blue right now?

  • Thecityboy781

sold out in Boston *sad face*

  • Sdaisy824

Just came back from Target, will be picking my galaxy s3 16 gb in white about 3 days for $199 upgrade for T-mobile, because I wasn’t going to fork over $280+ in the T-mobile retail store

    • Ashido480

Target has it?! Tell me more please

      • Sdaisy824

They ran out this morning ,but definitely they will have more in about 3days, if you up for upgrade for T-mobile, I suggest you go to Target, the Representative from Target also suggested me to trade my phone and will be less $ and if you have a Target pre-paid  or Target credit card if will take 5% off, this was in Queens, NY

        • Ashido480

Which target in Queens, because I live in Brooklyn and I would be more than willing to travel to Queens. :D

        • Sdaisy824

you can try any Target or best buy for $199, I went to Queens Mall

        • Ashido480

Thanks bro, my full 2 year contract is up for my Vibrant, so this is exactly what I was looking for. I def wanted to get the White one too, so this is good news.

        • Sdaisy824

I’m not a bro, (female here)

        • Ashido480

          Thanks Sis :D

        • im in the bronx and wouldnt mind traveling to queens either…im up for a 2 year upgrade, when you went to target, were you able to keep your data plan and everything exactly how it was when u got the gs3? thanks

        • Sdaisy824

I will have in about in 3 days, if should not affect your data plan, if just upgrading, we are grandfathered in my t-mobile family plan, when my son upgraded earlier this past March for the samsung sII , it didn’t change anything. But just in case tell them do not change your data plan

        • thanks for the response…so $200 if upgrading on a 2 year contract through target…ill be on the first train to queens mall tomorrow, thank you very much :)

        • Sdaisy824

but why travel far when you can go to any Target store in any borough?

    • Grammatica di Polizia

Target is a good place to pick up phones. I think they are trying to compete with Wal-Mart so they keep prices competitive.

      • Sdaisy824

I agree with you, early my son upgrade in march for T-mobile the samsung galaxy sII through Target for $99.00

    • WW

FYI for anyone in Atlanta.  There’s only 1 Target store in Atlanta that carries T-Mobile (all the others carry only Verizon, AT&T and Sprint).

I think it’s the one at 2600 Holcomb Bridge Rd in Alpharetta GA.

I don’t know if they have the GS3 but if you want TMo from Target (on contract; they all have pre-paid), this is the only one (based on info from a wireless seller in the store) in the Atlanta area.

      • Daisy

Here in NY it’s not also prepaid  you can also get them by contract and upgrades,, my son did the upgrade  through Target because T-mobile retail was asking to put down $280 for the samsung galaxy II and that same day he went to Target in got for $99.00 in white, without changing our plan

  • Taron19119

this is y t-mobile should of did a  preorde

  • Grammatica di Polizia

Well here’s hoping that the SGS III buzz causes the SGS II to plummet down to  $200 on eBay. :) Right now ones advertised as mint are $300.

Also looking at the Note, but those prices remain high. :(

Anyway, IMO the SGS II is not that much different from the SGS III, certainly not enough to pay $200 to $300 more for a III (I have to pay full price for my phones, that I use on Straight Talk prepaid. T-Mobile or AT&T 4G, 2.5 GB data, unlimited talk and text, $41 month).

    • Blklig

actually i had the gs2 and picked up my gs3 today and there is actually a world of difference. i would gladly spend the money again for it. plus after i sold my gs2 for 275 i only actually came out of pocket a hundred and some change

  • Traviedwards

Its free on the tmo website after 50 dollar rebate, ends at 11:59 tonight

    • exeot

WOW. They’ve been lying about the stock the whole time.
OK.. tmobile, you got me this time. Awesome move.. i’ll take two. Too bad the upgrade fee still applies:(

      • Taron19119

what are u talking about itsthe gs2 thats free

        • jhoff909

looks like it’s only free for new customers – tried going thru the upgrade and they still want $250 for it :(

        • exeot

          Nobody caught the sarcasm?!?!!! REALLY>!

  • Grammatica di Polizia

A search of Costco indicates it is selling the Verizon, Sprint or AT&T SGS III for $200.

And I am not sure if I am reading it correctly, but the Verizon SGS III is $175, after $25 mail-in rebate.

Like some said in here, perception is everything to consumers. Pay $175 or $280 for the phone. Given the choice, I think people can’t resist paying $105 less. They won’t pencil out who has the lower priced plans, they go for that up-front price. And in these hard times $105 is a lot.

    • sharklover

Tmobile only being sold in stores for now. my local store was meant to hve them this morning. Does not seem like they will have it tomorrow. I want it already.

    • jhoff909

Local Costco here in Seattle is selling them for $250, no rebate required.  They’re only getting 3 tho…

  • Grammatica di Polizia
  • Grammatica di Polizia

Hmm… I just thought of something, maybe T-Mobile priced this at $280 because it is the first to get the phone on sale, that is, instead of pre-orders which is what everyone else has.

Does that mean when it actually goes on sale elsewhere that T-Mobile will lower the price?

Just a thought. Why not make an extra million while no one else has the phone.

  • Dumbazz

OF COURSE ATT and Verizon can sell the SG3 at a lower cost considering they will CHARGE YOU MORE each month PLUS they can buy in GREATER VOLUME since they have a a larger customer base than Tmobile!
So those of you whining STFU

  • Taron19119

    what is tele-sales

    • Angelboy66

Calling tmo sales rep over phone is call Tele sales

  • cool down people. its a phone, not the end of the world…you have been waiting for this months..do you mind waiting a few days more?..behave like adults, rational human beings..no like monkeys anxious for getting the last banana available. TMO and Samsung are doing their best to make it possible….JEEZZZZZZ

    • Nemichoco

I know right… and ill wait another few more months for the GS4. I perfectly fine with my GSII running the official ICS.

    • Grammatica di Polizia

You remind me of that tortoise in the station wagon, in the Xfinity commercial. :)

    • Spanky

Again, this is just Samsung creating artificial demand. Remember what Nintendo did with the Wii? Six months after it was originally released, it was still very difficult to get. I remember waiting online at my local Best Buy (prior to the store opening) in June 2007, wich only got 25 systems and was issuing tickets to those wishing to buy the system. I was number 23, with about 30 more people waiting online behind me.

Samsung knew exactly what kind of demand this phone will generate, and are using it to increase the hype. Don’t think for a second that they don’t have warehouses full of GSIIIs. They are strictly controllining the amount of phones that are released for sale, that’s all. Want proof? Just take a look at the number of comments on this blog’s GSIII-related posts.

      • Spanky

*wich = which, before the grammar police arrives.

      • None

you waited online?  dump the dial-up!

  • Scapegrace

Anyone have luck with Walmart, Target, or Best Buy with upgrading and keeping preferred data plan?  I was able to at Costco, but wasn’t sure if they would do the same at the other stores.

    • Scapegrace

To clear up, I didn’t guy the S3 at Costco but another phone on another line a while ago.

    • Ikhtiaralam

I bought mine at Wal-Mart for 198 plus tax. Came to 214.34. Plus my $18 upgrade fee which will be implemented in my bill later.

      • Ikhtiaralam

They let me keep my data plan.

  • Justinreynolds98

I wrote T Mobile brass a letter its a little long but I believe its fair but critical of the launch and hopefully they can explain some things that many customers don’t seem to know about availability.
If you want leave critical feedback, I can take it!

    http://mobilespot1.wordpress.com/2012/06/22/samsung-galaxy-s3-another-launch-another-tmobile-flop/

  • Walmart, Costco, & Target all have it online for $199 but only for ATT, Verizon & Sprint..Costco gives you $25 back..i don’t really get what tmo is doing..they didn’t give us the chance to pre order..nobody is carrying the tmobile version..and the big markets stores basically had nothing to sell today

    • jbreyno

The reason they didn’t have preorders is because only new contract customers are getting the phone right away. Go online and try to do a upgrade and it will tell you that its not currently available, you will be able to purchase but it will give you a anticipated arrival date of the 29th. If you go to the website and go thru as a new customer before you checkout it will ask you want to express or ups ground. Im sure the cutoff time has passed to get it tommorrow but new cus that ordered before 8 pm tonite will have it tommorrow. Customer care handles upgrades and they dont even have access to the systems to order till the 27th. The department that has inventory is telesales who handles new customers or if your adding a new line only. Customer care isnt even aware that telesales is selling to new customers, theyre trying to keep it queit cause it doesnt look good if your using your inventory to sign up contracts before other carriers launch and making upgrades wait. With all these blogs and surface articles written, its ridiculous. Get the real story.Do a little homework and see what lies beneath. Well in my letter I told T-mobile I will hold them accountable and i’m a man of my word, remember other carriers are sending there inventory to preorders ala Sprint, Tmobile is likely holding the majority of handsets, they said there would be limited quantity in stores but in the Chicago market there where 5 stores with about 5 handsets each. Other carriers didn’t release cause that’s stupid, they decided to use limited inventory to satisfy pre-orders,  T-Mobile they only sold to new customers it would be to obvious, so they sprinkled a few in stores to detract from that. They never said how many were going to be in stores, just that it was limited. did it cause available in stores but its so limited it doesnt make sense. Its just to detract from the fact that besides a few devices in stores the only tmo customers getting the phone before the 29th are new contract customers via telasales or that set up new line of service on tmo site.Dont believe me try to proccess an upgrade and then go and try to order as a new customer.Or call telesales and say your new and ask if you can get it in one day. Tmobiles promoting being the first in stores but theyre really being shady whereas sprint sent there limited inventory to all preorders which is a new and upgrades and everyone has a fair shot at. People dont get it but I wrote that letter to tmobile executives and words coming out writers on these tech sites dont know much, they got sources that feed them info but they dont get the scoop. Everyone ran around looking for phones today calling customer care and thinking they had a chance to get one of the 5 devices available in every major market. Tmobile knew they were doing and I know what i’m doing.

      • Scapegrace

        What.

      • xSAVAGEx

Can you explain this again? You wrote a letter?

      • None

        too many words

  • dazed&confused

Tmo has a cheaper plans than other providers, therefore they charge more for phones.   As for today’s “pre-launch” I think it was a complete gaggle f*ck.  I went to my local tmo store and they said they will have 5 s3’s. all local corporate stores were to have 5-10 phones, all blue.  I changed my contract around and was told I was good to go and I can pick up my phone first thing in the morning.  I was called 1030am by my local store and they informed me that they did not get the phones because only 2 stores in my area were allowed to sell it.  I found one of the stores rushed over and got my s3 (amazing phone btw).  I later went back to that same store to buy a screen protector and was informed that they were allotted 100 phoness but only sold 13 on day one…. EPIC FAILURE on tmo’s side.  5 phones scattered around the city, OR the two tmo stores with stock publizied would have caused a sale out, but nope, they messed up…

  • rwc1792

I’ll say this, this phone is in demand.  Walked into a T-mo store in the Bay Area that didn’t have the phone, and while I was there, they received 3 phone calls from people asking for the phone.  What other phone has had that kind of demand?

    • Spanky

That other phone does….y’know, from the fruit company.

      • babalo

        juicy fruit?

    • dazed&confused

if you’re willing to drive to sacramento there might be some left.  call the tmo store 916 681 5077

    • None

Come on… that question is waaay too easy!

    • rwc1792

should have clarified, what other Android phone has had this kind of demand?

  • GinaDee

    Ripoff regardless of plan savings.

T-Mobile still sells the BlackBerry Bold 9900 for $299.99 while many online outlets give it away for free on a 2 year contract.

Should be $329 w/o a forced data plan or $199.99 with a forced data plan.

    • Jose Hernandez

It still amazes me how some people just refuse to understand how they have chosen to do business. It is not a ripoff is you are told before hand how much you need to pay, and how much you will safe with the plan after. Now, I am not happy that they are charging more, but I still choose to stay with them because I do safe a ton of money. You are not being forced to stay with them. If you are not happy, go to another carrier. Complaining here is not going to help you. And you seem to know that you will be saving money on the plan anyway. Why are you saying this is a ripoff? You have all the facts, how could they possibly rip you off?

  • Blklig

the reason t mobiles is so much is because if they let it go for 200 and the etp is only two hundred people would buy the phone and just quit their  plan spending only 400 for a 630 phone. the other companies can do this because they can risk it because they have a larger customer base and they just subsidize the cost by charging you far more for data and things like wifi tethering which come standard with the 5 gb plan from tmobile. just do the math on the plans and also check out verizons upcoming family plans and you’ll understand tmobile is not too shabby

  • billy padilla

Anyone got their hands on the S3? Please post whrere you got it and how much?

    • dazed&confused

I bought mine in sacramento it was 229+arm and leg, used the value plan..   call 916 681 5077 (store) to see if they have more.  they had 100 yesterday and only sold 13

      • billy padilla

im trying to find out if anyone has purchased it at a walmart/bestbuy/costco/target etc, they seem to have much better deals than tmobile store. thanks for the reply.

  • anyone know when the WHITE models are going to be released?  Ordered mine last night on the web, but says backordered and thats it.

    • Ydeavilas

I think the WHITE looks a bit too feminish and the blue I consider it more elegant… just saying

      • lol – had the white radar and iPhone 4s – all my other phones that i had have been black or blue or gray – and in certain cases the points moot anyhow. Besides I am secure in my manhood that i am not worried what color my phone is.

      • None

You are worried about a phone being too feminine when you use words like “elegant”?

    • dazed&confused

probably 6/27.  this was considered a pre launch

  • Travis edwards

Wah wah wah!!!!! Be patient I am sure they will drop the price after all the suckers jump on the first / second wave of releases. If not who cares, the phone is worth the money considering the cost saving with a service plan…

  • slayr

I agree with jbreyno.  I placed my upgrade yesterday at 11 am and received email today at 7 am that I’m back-ordered with no estimated delivery date.  I get that I’m keeping my current plan and was willing to pay more for the SIII.  Tmo is treating its loyal customers shabbily by giving preference to newbies.  Launch epic public relations failure.  Should have moved to later to avoid this debacle.

  • Junior23online

Go to Best Buy Mobile they match all pricing locally and will set the price with out mail in rebates. Thats where i get all my phones from!

    • Lani

Hey Everyone!  Please mention the store location when you specify where you picked up an item.  For example, most Best Buy stores in my little town of Los Angeles CA, do NOT sell Tmobile mobiles.  Last I heard, the Glendale Best Buy was the only Best Buy that sold Tmobile mobiles around my neck of the woods.

Why bother they neutered the phone again. No quad core = fail. Might as well stay with s2 or get the note. I’m still pissed about s1 without the flash and failed GPS

    • Drmad725

The Note has less processor and memory than the gs3 as does the gs2. The dual core gs3 has been benchmarked in real-life applications and the dual in the gs3 with 2GBs of RAM beat out the quad in most tests. I too was PO’d about the xchange until I saw the benchmarks, I’m fine now, thanks for asking, and you should be too. Also, we get the new phones to move forward, the Note has NO NFC.

just called my local costco here in los angeles and he confirmed the price of $249.99 plus $18 for activation fee and taxable on the whole sale price of $349 so your looking at about $300 out the door on upgrade with 2 year agreement. It also comes with an accessories bundle that includes screen protector, car charge, and some type of case. not bad. color: only in the pebble blue for now. walmart says they will start selling on monday 6/25. they could not give any deatails other than that.

  • Albo4lif3

Just placed my order online and the white one doesnt say its not available for shipment at this point like yesterday. yesterday if you went to order the white one it says this device is not available for immediate shipment but today it doesnt say nothing so does this mean its available?

  • Rdog24x

GOTO COSTCO! Definitely the cheapest out the door (249.99 + tax + 18 upgrade fee)and they will give you a free case, screen protector and car charger.  Can’t go wrong with that!  Only downside is the only have the blue color, but heck for a phone that’s going to get put in a case anyways does the color really even matter?  FYI all the costco’s I called have them, so i’m taking it one in your area will to.

    • Pnina_evans

I’m in the LA area and my Costco did NOT have the phones.  Sucks.

  • Travis edwards

Wow, just picked it up from the costco by work, they have a skid of phones… Mettawa il Costco… 249.99 ( 270 after taxes ) with free case, screen protector, and car charger… the blue looks way better in person. The weight is incredible and the screen was sick.. Linked my google account and loaded all my apps in a heartbeat…. 10 stars soo far, I’ll update later in the day when I’m home and have a chance to play around with it….

If price drops Costco will price match when it does………

I’m a new account holder and activation was waived by costco, rebate will be added to my account 2n billing cycle…..

    Good luck fellas…….

    • Rdog24x

Did they have both the white and blue? I’m waiting till after work to go pick mine up, but I forgot to ask the rep on the phone which colors they had… I’m also in il as well.

      • Travis edwards

Just blue.. Trust me when I say the blue looks sick. 16gb….
They coscto on clybourn in the city has them as well, I was going to get one there, cause it’s by my house. But it was easier to get it by my work…

        • Rdog24x

I was just curious, probably going to get the blue anyways… not like it matters phone will be in a case anyways lol but yeah I’m from the burbs called 3 around my area and all of them had them in stock.  Costco rocks! Kinda sucks that there better than the corporate stores but i’ll take it!

    • slayr

Congrats to you all who have gotten the phone.  I think I’m being held up because I ordered the Blue 32G direct from Tmo and got a text I’m backordered with no estimate of delivery :p  I live in Metro area not near a Costco.
Wondering how Samsung and Tmo are letting discounters beat out their retail stores causing lost profit and damaged reputations…

      • Travis edwards

Cant you cancel the order? Why get the 32g when you can use dropbox and add a sim card?

    • billy padilla

what rebate? and do you know how long coctco price matched itself?

      • Travis edwards

activation fee, im a new tmo customer… I am not sure how long for the price match

  • mark

    Got it at Costco. $249+tax.

    • billy padilla

how much was it total out pf pocket including tax and fee??

      • Travis edwards

270 for me…they will price match if tmo decides to lower it down the road

        • billy padilla

cool, im in los angeles so i think taxes cant go any higher than we have them here lol. ok i know what im up against. i also wanted the white color but i hear the blue looks really nice in person. perhaps i could get the blue and since tmobile returns or exchanges are 30 days in california, i could swap for the white one…. thank you guys!!

        • Pnina_evans

Just watch out for the $50 restocking fee… I’m not sure if that’s the case only in a tmo store or everywhere…

        • dodgerfan26

True, but I would think there wouldn’t be a re stocking fee since it would be an exchange not a return… Thanks for the heads up. Ill ask b4 I Buy

      • mark

There was an $18 upgrade fee which will be on the bill. The tax was based on their full price I think. My work area has a little bit higher tax and the total I paid was $286.06.

I didn’t know about the price match, but that would be nice if it happens.

Just wait ’til iphone 5 announcement! They’ll be giving SG3s away, just like htc one s!

  • Tom

Just wait ’til iphone 5 announcement! They’ll be giving these away, just like the htc one s.

    • Travis edwards

      and the IPHONE 6S,7,7S,8, 8S,9,9s,10,10s…

Being a former ATT customer and using the iphone 3 im not worried… Service was shitty and the plan was over priced… Who needs all those roll over minutes anyway?

I have a samsung tv and wifi galaxy tab. This just completed my collection….. :)

  • slayr

Getting the runaround trying to change my Tmo upgrade from 32G to 16G since 32G sold out.  Telling me to place another order for the 16G.  Totally disgusted with the way SIII launch is being handled by Tmo.

    • Travis edwards

just cancel the order…. Go to costco, save on shipping charges and get a free kit….all you need is the 16gb anyway… Dropbox and then get another sd card if you run out of space…

    • Pnina_evans

Yep, truly an epic fail launch.

  • Lounaya909

well it didint stop me i got mine on launch morning at a t-mobile store

  • Msoren8

Just picked mine up from Walmart…..$214 out the door!!

    • dodgerfan26

      What color

  • dodgerfan26

What??? What’s the price at walmart? How was it so cheap? What about the tax? That’s good!!! What colors do they have?

    • Msoren8

the price at walmart is $189, after tax $214……no mail in rebates or anything. I got the blue but they did have the white.

      • I called my local Walmart in Miramar FL and the price is $198.88 for new lines AND for eligible upgrades.  I called my local Costco and spoke to the guy there I know and he said they can’t price match and that I should get it at Walmart.  Only problem is the Walmart I called didn’t have any in that store!!

T-Mobile Galaxy S3’s are available all over the country. Click on the link for proof. The best time to go is when the Mobile Department opens at 9am. Store are receiving 2 devices sometime this week. So if a store already got there’s they wont get more till the 27, but if they haven’t gotten them yet tomorrow or Friday could be that stores day. One of the reps said only the store manager knows what day they’re coming. But as you can see on the link that my S3 was bought at 10pm this evening after sitting in the Walmart display case for 2 full days.

      http://mobilespot1.wordpress.com/2012/06/23/t-mobile-samsung-galaxy-s3-available-at-walmart-198/

  • Lani

A main Tmobile Store (not reseller) in Los Angeles, did not receive any SG3s on release day. O_o
They will receive them on June 27th if all goes well.

  • sdk4

If I want to use a corporate discount, do I need to go to a actual T-Mobile store or can I go to Wal-Mart for the cheaper price?

  • Sofeisty

Got one from Costco. Had to jump through hoops to keep my existing plan (TMO wanted to change my plan or go to a TMO store to keep my existing one) but FINALLY got the deal done.  Kept my family 1000 for $49.99, Preferred android $20 , Free My Faves,  Unlimited family text for $10, and TMO at home for $10.  I pay for $10 for one extra line, $40 for additional Preferred android web on the other two phones plus unlimited mobile to mobile for $20 on two phones.  Unlimited text, data, and close to unlimited calling for three smartphones plus my home phone.  $150 plus tax.  I think it’s a steal and that is why I have been with TMO for 12 years!

    • How much, at Costco?

      • Sofeisty

$249.99 which isn’t an outrageous amount for me seeing that I sold my two year old Vibrant on Ebay for $180 to help fund this purchase.

  • Pank

Where in NY is the phone available? I’ve been looking for it everywhere! 32gb Blue?

    • slayr

The tmo stores I called said they would have them 6/27 so I ordered blue 32g online and delivery is scheduled for 6/27. This launch has been a joke. Thought nyc was a major mkt.

      • Pank

Yeah, I heard the 27th, but obviously I hated waiting and thought we would get it the 21st. Bummer. I heard only the 34th street had it in NYC and they sold out that morning.

        • Yeah, 34th was the only store. I got mine that morning. They gave out bottles of water and had the blue 16’s only.

  • T Mobile is selling the 32GB version, right? Its not showing on the website, only the 16GB. I’m confused why I still am gonna have to pay $329 when I have a full upgrade to use? This is not any discount, its the same shit. I’ll call and see what they tell me, because the website will say 1 thing, or not say 1 thing. And when you call and chat someone up, you uncover other things. haha. I’m still gonna wait until the price goes down.

  • nitefallz

It’s $375 up front for the 16gb model with full discount.

  • B-Mobile

Finally saw the blue 16GB T-Mobile SGIII on the costco website: you can’tsee the price until you checkout. After you add a required data package (even if your keeping your current plan) the price is $249 with no MIR (for some reason i was under the impression this phone would cost $199 at Costco)

still want a 32GB White SGIII for $249

  • Jose Hernandez

This is the biggest load of BS customer service I have ever experience with this company. I called this morning, after being assured that I would be able to get the phone and what do you think happens? We are sorry, we don’t have the phone available for upgrades at this time. You can only purchase the phone if you are adding another line or come in as a brand new customer. I was told that only retail stores have the phone and good luck finding one that did? The web site will not allow me to do the upgrade either, It is pricing the phone for full price. Even Tmo’s phone system has a recording stating you can call today and get the phone. They need to just come out and say they don’t want to sell it as an upgrade and they don’t know when they will.

  • 1coolazn

called tmo this morning to order mine through customer loyalty…. to make a long story short, they didn’t have ANY! as far as i’m concerned, they didn’t sell a single one. when i asked about picking one up in store, i was told the tmo store may not honor what was quoted to me because the quote and upgrade were done through them. needless to say, i now have to wait until this weekend…. but i’m chalking that up to more like MID-JULY, since no one, nor their great-grandma, can tell me when they are expected to release the phone through CC. WTF!
