MyTouch Fender LE Sells Out? Eric Clapton Rejoices

mytouch_LE_outofstock_tmonews_wm

One of our sources hit us up today with the image above. Apparently, the MyTouch Fender Limited Edition will no longer be available for existing customers that want to upgrade to the handset. Additionally, the original MyTouch 3G in the shade of black, will no longer be available for upgrade either. Our sources are claiming that the reason for the Fender LE removal is because the handset is out of stock in the warehouse. Did the MyTouch 3G Fender really sell out that quickly? I’m not a big fan of Eric Clapton, but the Fender Edition definitely looks sick! Also could the removal of these handsets have something to do with the upcoming MyTouch 1.2, slated for a February 10th release?

Wow…that’s interesting. I’m glad I was able to get the Fender Edition last week. It ROCKS…

      Hello,
I too have the Fender and am not understanding how to download music from my computer to the phone…it seems to work at times and not other times. can you help me? thanks!

  • john

The Feb 10th release date is 100% accurate : )

    • mobiledout

yes. i just got off the phone and order my T-Mobile® myTouch™ 3G 3.5mm Jack – Black. Although the website says says “comming soon” if you actually call them, they have it in. Cant wait to get mine.

  • Zmobile

thats odd, my Tmo location has yet to sell one.

  • deej

Interesting, I just upgraded to the mytouch on Sunday and I had the option for both, of the mytouches. The guy didn’t say anything and I was fishing for info and he gave me a lot of stuff, or at least confirmed my questions. Hmmm

    • mobiledout

crazy part is i was just on the phone last wk w/ tmo getting all the info i needed to upgrade & update my plan. I finally decided on the My touch & it’s GONE! not once was i given the idea that it would be discontinued… I have mixed feelings.

I used my upgrade option to get the fender edition on Saturday, jan 30th. I’m a guitar player with a fender sunburst strat, so this phone was a must-have for me. and now today I read this? I’m glad I was able to upgrade when I did!

  • sean connery

Anybody hear how many they made?

    • Anthony

I remember seeing an article(inside tmo) that said they made 200k

  • Galen20K

well the Fender edition IS the best available MyTouch right now, you can’t deny that fact even IF its style isn’t exactly YOUR style.

  • randy

Hard to believe it sold out inever heard to much buzz about it not to mention never really caught my attention but kudo’s to them

  • Spike

Uh, but doesn’t “sold out” mean like the main warehouse is out of stock and all units have been shipped to retailers? Not necessarily that the retailers have sold out?

    • sorandkairi

Not really because the “warehouse” is not the only place where your items come from when u purchase them online. For instance, if u have purchased clothes online, your clothes probably didnt come from the “warehouse” but rather your nearest local retailer and shipped to you!

  • TehAndroid

This is common with phones that are very popular. All this means though is that you can’t order it from customer care or online. If a store still has it then you can purchase it through there. Though most of the stores in my area are either sold out or only have like 2 left.

Funny I looked tonight on My t Mobile and since I’m eligible for upgrade clicked on the my touch. The white was listed at 149 but the black and merlot were listed at 119.
    Strange

WELL IM GLAD I GOT MINE LAST WEEK. I LOVE THE DESIGN NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS. SO FAR EVERYBODY THAT’S SEEN MY FONE LIKES IT AND I DO SO THATS ALL THAT MATTERS; BUT IN MY OPINION ITS JUST A BETTER VERSION OF THE ALREADY GREAT MyTouch PLUS THE AMAZING 3.5mm HEADPHONE JACK….I WAS SOLD;!

  • Ahh Yo!

As much as I like T-Mobile, I have to admit that they do have some cheesy phones. Either they are over priced or very weak (or both). I don’t care what colours they offer, their still not worth investing or renewing contract. I hope that this year they come up with some real good phones/smart-phones/PDA phones. But then, maybe I’m asking for too much. Is it too much to ask for a bigger screen with multitask and longer battery?

    • john

Ever heard of the hd2? Tool.

      • sorandkairi

I know!! Why bother posting something like that!

    • Bargle

Uhhhh….I know it’s archaic, but the G1 and MyTouch are boss. The Touch Pro 2, Blackberry Bold 9700, Motorola Cliq, HD2, Nexus One….what are you smoking?

  • Todd

I stopped reading when I saw “I’m not a big fan of Eric Clapton”…..you lose.

  • Sam

My store just got 2 fenders…so they’re still out there

Since i have even more plus plan, i have to buy phones at retail price, i rather buy unlocked phones from Nokia cos they seem to be getting cheaper lately. Nokia N900 is getting cheaper everyday. I currently have Nokia e71 and its only 269 now. I paid 400 dollars last year for it. Tmobile phones are just a little too expensive!!

  • Kal

How can anyone not like Eric Clapton?

    • sorandkairi

      idk…???

    • Catherine

      go figure! He’s incredible!!!

  • http://TMONEWS.COM Uchenna

I meant two years ago, in 2008

  • Rickb

I saw a Fender at a store, and I was a little underwhelmed. Not a very vibrant cover, just not poppin for me.

I’ll pass. Now to get back to forming veneer for my G1 cover…..
