New Pixel 4 XL videos give a clear look at Google’s upcoming flagship

The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL aren’t expected to be announced for another month or so, but today we’re getting a clear look at Google’s new flagship hardware thanks to some hands-on videos.

First up, a high-quality hands-on video shows off the white Pixel 4 XL with dual rear cameras and an orange power button. The video from AnhEm TV is in Vietnamese but the Pixel 4 XL’s software is in English, so we can see features like Smooth Display that “dynamically adjusts the refresh rate between 60 and 90Hz”. There are also settings for Screen Attention and Ambient EQ, which “dynamically adjusts the display based on surrounding light levels.”

The video also shows off Android 10’s gestures on the Pixel 4 XL, like activating the Google Assistant by swiping up from one of the lower corners of the screen. The Camera app is shown off as well, but it seems to be a bit buggy. There’s a CPU-Z app on the phone as well, and it lists the Pixel 4 XL as having a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a 6.23-inch 3040×1440 display.

Meanwhile, another video shows off three color options of the Pixel 4 XL, including white, black, and an orange paint job that some rumors have called “Coral”. This video is much more focused on the hardware of the Pixel 4 rather than the software, but it does give us a clear look at the colors that the Pixel 4 XL will be offered in and shows off some sample photos from the camera towards the end of the clip.

Rumors have said that the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will be announced in October, just like the past three generations of Pixel flagships before them. T-Mobile began selling both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a earlier this year, and so it’s possible that we’ll see the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL hit T-Mo’s shelves after they’re announced.
