T-Mobile Galaxy S9, S9+, and S8 Active getting updates today

Today’s the start of a new month, and it’s bringing with it software updates for a few Samsung phones on T-Mobile.

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are now receiving updates with the May 1, 2019 Android security patches. Galaxy S9 owners should be on the lookout for an update to version G960USQS4CSD3, while S9+ owners are receiving version G965USQS4CSD3.

Also being updated today is the T-Mobile Galaxy S8 Active. The update is version G892USQS5BSE5 and, like today’s S9 updates, this one includes the May 1, 2019 Android security patches.

These updates are now rolling out over the air, and TmoNews readers nightdiceman1 and Casey have received their updates already today. So if you’ve got a Galaxy S9, S9+, or S8 Active, your update should arrive in the coming days. You can also check for the update manually by going into Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.

Thanks, Casey and nightdiceman1!

I never got the previous –CSC3 update, it keeps getting network failure error message.

….aaaaaand just got same error message from running the software update manually. Model SM-G960U1. “Network server failed to connect”. What is T Mobile doing wrong? I received the original update to 9.0 on it back in January, manually with no problem/hiccup. The current version is on –CSA3. I noticed previous reference article to –CSC3, which I never got (due to same T-Mobile network server failure). Now on June 2, same issue.

I’m assuming the S8 Active still hasn’t got an Android pie update? Pathetic.
