metropcslogopurple

MetroPCS today kicked off a limited time family plan deal.

Starting today, you can get four lines of unlimited talk, text, and LTE data for $100 per month from MetroPCS. New and existing customers are eligible for this deal, but you will need to add at least one new line of service to qualify.

There are some details about this plan to keep in mind. While unlimited LTE data is included, video streams will top out at 480p, and customers that use more than 35GB of data in a month will have their usage deprioritized. Additionally, there is no tethering included with this plan.

MetroPCS will also give you a free smartphone (you pay sales tax) for each line that you port in. The phones that are available with this offer are:

  • Alcatel Fierce 4
  • Alcatel Fierce A30
  • Coolpad Defiant
  • LG Aristo
  • LG K20 Plus
  • Motorola Moto e4
  • Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime
  • Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime
  • ZTE Blade Z Max

what’s the best phone out of that bunch?

    • big curt

      Lg k7 plus

      • Melissa Cardenas

That one ain’t even on that list haha

        • Keith Stevens

And its a horrible phone lol

    • timmyjoe42

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is the only octa core processor and has 2GB of RAM which matches the most of any of those devices, so I’d probably lean towards that one as being best. You’ll just need to get a sd card to boost your storage.

      • Keith Stevens

yes for the price the J7 prime is good bet.

        • riverhorse

Yes, better than the Zte’s, which have software bugs. And the latest one has bad audio and video.

      • Blade Z Max has an octo core processor too (Snapdragon 435) with 2GB of RAM as well.

        • Bklynman

PC Magazine call it the best midrange phone out there,ZMax. You can get for only $99. after all rebates. The Pro is only $79. after all the rebates.

    • Melissa Cardenas

So just go with the LG k20 plus .

    • Keith Stevens

by far its the Moto E4. None of them are gonna blow your socks off but the E4 is newest and best long term i would say.

      • riverhorse

Agreed, I just hate that small size.

    • Best small phone is the Moto E4. If you can handle the size, the ZTE Blade Z Max is the best phone of the bunch.

      • brybry

yea i don’t plan on using the phones. most likely unlock and resell and use exisiting iphones on metro.

  • timmyjoe42

I wonder if they will let T-Mobile customers port over to MetroPCS. Many people would greatly benefit from this deal.

    • Keith Stevens

No. metro is owned by t mobile so they are not gonna reward you for switching from same company to the same company. The point of the offer is to get you to switch to them from a different company. Unfortunately they will never offer port offers from one to the other. This is a pretty sweet deal.

      • I am pretty sure you can switch you just don’t get free phones because it’s not actually a port.

    • Mike

You can port your current Tmobile number to google voice or a similar service and then port them to metro .

      • jdubtrey

I tried to port from google voice and was denied the $100 phone discount.

        • Mike

Ouch switch to any low priced prepaid mvno besides one on Tmobile towers and then port to Tmobile.

  • stuman19741974 .

What would this promo cost if you needed 5 lines? $125 flat?

  • riverhorse

Too bad LG Stylo 3 Plus not on the list($149).

    • You could still get the Stylo 3 Plus, you just have to pay $49 ($100 credit for each port in number)

      • riverhorse

Thank you, I shoulda thought of that, I did it years ago.

      • What if you BYOD do you lose the credit?

        • You can BYOD. What you should do is, get the free phone then when you get home call MetroPCS to switch over your sim to the old phone you want to use. Then you can keep the free phone they gave you as a backup or sell it.

        • What I meant was, can you apply the $100 phone credit to your account instead of to a phone. That would be way better.

        • No, you can’t.

  • Pak T

Glad I signed up for this and have stuck with it way back when T-Mobile offered one much like this one. I have 4 lines for $100 although with 2.5GB of data per line plus a bonus increasing that to 4GB for the same price. Tethering included and my 5th line is only $10 more. Of course this old plan you have to pay the fees and taxes on top of that still cheaper than current T-Mobile offering if you don’t normally blow past the 4GB limits per month,

    • brybry

im on the same plan with family state side international + mobile and taxes and fees are close to $45 bucks for me

    • Moises M

I got the same plan, but I also got international calls in all lines for $5, if I want to upgrade to the new plan I will have to pay $15 per line for international calls. My plan is $105 + taxes and fees, one plan and international calls would be $220

  • Sharti24

T-mobile should do 4 for $100. Think of all the customers they’d get

    • Acdc1a

Do 4 for $100 and have the $10 add-on for 10GB in high speed tethering or $25 for unlimited? It actually wouldn’t be the loser it sounds like on paper.

      • Sharti24

I just want them to gain more customers. More customers equal more revenue which can help improve the network. Tmobile needs to improve their reputation of being the “ghetto” carrier they once were. I’ve tried having people switch but they just laugh because of all the bad rap that they used to have. They use verizon or Att because theyre popular. Tmobile works just as well in cities/suburbs as the big two

        • Jason

Heh TMO doesnt need your help or advice in gaining customers, 18 quarters of atleast a million new customers net per quarter? Come on. Youre talking about an era long gone using personal anecdotes which are dubious at best

        • Sharti24

Lol it got you to reply ;) T-Mobile will NEVER catch verizon or Att’s subscriber base unless they merge with sprint, period.

        • Jason

LOL Of course it got me to reply, but that is the point of your clear history of moronic posts with an opaque agenda isnt it? ;-) Well Im sure you think its not discernable and quite frankly for most of the people here who read your posts its probably not, but youre not fooling me kid.

        • Sharti24

Moronic posts = cold hard truth. Just telling it how it is

        • mrpickem

          AT&T did 3M net add adds Q3 2017 http://about.att.com/story/att_third_quarter_earnings_2017.html

Not to say Tmobile hasn’t been killing it, just other players are performing too and Verizon is still #1 in sub base

    • Andrew Singleton

It would appear their subscriber growth is already killing it…

    • Pak T

They did have this same deal some years back. I am still on T-Mo’s $100 for 4 plan, plus a 5th line for only $10. Not unlimited data though.

  • Andrew Singleton

    dang 4 x moto e4 and 100m is -KILLER-

  • Clippers FANactic

This makes me wanna switch from TMo…
