Google Releases The Nexus 4 Once Again Into The Play Store Wild

The title says it all, it’s available — and there’s limited quantities so you should already be clicking onto the Play Store page linked below. Both the 8GB and 16GB models are said to ship in 1 – 2 weeks and we all know this could be a gracious time for shipping. Regardless, inventory won’t last forever so acting fast is your best option unless you want to go down the Best Buy or route.

      Dang big baller

  • Zacamandapio

  • Linda Diefenbach

    Already did…and a bumper too.

  • sir1jaguar

    I ordered 2 16gb with bumpers…

  • Prox

    purchased 2 16gb’s myself.

  • just placed an order for 8GB..woot google reader RSS

  • ken879q

I actually got rid of my bumper after 2 weeks of use back in december looks nice but doesn’t really protect the back glass. Waste of money.

    • nexus1981

I just ordered a bumper but reading the comments makes me feel like I’m wasting my money on a bumper. Tell me Ken did u have a screen protector on the front an back? I have one on both sides, an I was thinking I could add the bumper too for the corners, so a screen protector on both sides an a bumper I should be be alright. I also bought a ringke ultra slim case for it as well. I got that from amazon.

      • ken879q

Yes, I bought the Spigen front AND back protector films on Amazon. It is very good, with a hole for the sensors too which was an issue with early protectors. You need the film protectors EVEN if you buy a covered case because dirt can get inside the case and scratch the glass. I bought the diztronic case somebody mentioned here.

        • nexus1981

Oh ok , yea the one I bought was from “best skins ever” an its the total body skin it came wit the front back top an side skins. I didn’t use the side skins as I was going to have a case on it an didn’t want it to peel it off. But thanks for the advice kinda glad I put the back skin on even though I have a case. I check out the bumper to see if I like it, if not I’ll go back to my ultra slim case.

  • They are already 2 weeks out, glad I’ve got one already. You all are gonna love it. Trust me. The bumpers though, are a waste of money IMO. They don’t protect the device at all. Go with a case on Amazon or eBay. You can also get a full body armor online as well, for pennies on the dollar. Glad you all were able to get one if you did…

anyone know if you purchase directly from google, if you get a data upsell message from tmo if you’re on a grandfathered plan?? i know this happend with the n1 since it was available subsidized from tmobile…. i basically want to use tzones with the n4.

    • predation

nevermind, looks like guys at xda are getting upsell. boooo!!!!

  • iansltx

Within a couple minutes of reading this, I purchased an 8GB. Won’t be my primary phone…that’s my Spring SGSIII-32GB’s job…but it’ll be my third T-Mobile compatible device (in addition to a VZW third-gen iPad and a ZTE Rocket 3), utilizing GrooVe for voice, Google Voice for texting and my old $40/5GB plan for data access.

And yes, I’ll be enabling LTE as soon as I get the device, so I’ll probably be the first to post when Austin gets T-Mobile LTE (they’ll be fifth in the city, as VZW, AT&T, Sprint and CricKet all have it already).

    • Dion Mac

*Ponders as to why this comment got two thumbs down*

  • Rstar

This phone came just in time when unlocking became illegal :)
I’m happy with my purchase now deciding if I should keep tmobile or go to straight talk

    • tirtawn

if straight talk can use wifi calling -> i will move. otherwise i will stay. I keep G2x for wifi calling (when travelling abroad).

      • Rstar

I have read by other reviewers that it doesnt use wifi calling.

        • tirtawn

nexus4 -> no wifi calling. But G2x -> yes. Hence I am using Nexus 4 for daily use but keep the G2x stand by for travelling.

        • Mobilewolf789

When traveling abroad why not just use the magic jack app or worst case scenario vonage app? They’re both free.

        • qpinto

that’s the only reason I still have my g2x.

  • Johnnybgood3

Best case for the N4 is from Diztronic, do a search on Amazon. I got two.

  • Edward351

Ordered. Now what to do with the Galaxy Nexus.

    • Spanky

I just ordered the 16GB version and will be eBaying the Galaxy Nexus, as they are still fetching a pretty penny.

    • thepanttherlady

Whatever you decide to do with it, please make sure it isn’t done on this site. Thank you. :)

      • Dion Mac

Dear Mod Lady, you just got three thumbs down. HOW DARE THEY!!! lol

        • thepanttherlady

Oh emmmm geeeee! And I even put a smiley face. The nerve! Lol

          I’ll still sleep tonight so it’s a-ok.

  • tomnewtn

People might say it won’t be their primary phone, which is fine, but better wait and see because I think you might end up singing a different tune once you’ve used it. Best smartphone I’ve had. Good luck to all shoppers.

  • ughhhhhh i really wish i saw that sooner. its already got “technical issues” but i wont give up… i cant, and i refuse to pay “reseller” prices.

    • im actually on the phone with a hardware specialist and though they dont do purchases AT ALL over the phone, hes trying to make the sale for me… fingers crossed.

  • Addam

Love the phone and pure droid but cant live without UMA.

    • qpinto

it was hard at first however if you have a signal issue you can call up tmobile and get a signal repeater for your household. thats what i did.

then again im not too sure if orange(if applies) does the same in the UK.

    • lifeisgr84all

why do u need UMA so bad? bobsled, Vonage let you make free calls over wifi, to name a few.

      • Addam

i travel extensively and i need my phone to function abroad exactly as it would in the US. I believe that UMA is the only seamless way to do this.

  • Lol worst phone release ever! Ppl should be over this phone by now

    • Dion Mac

Im starting to get very… put off 0.o by peoples comments. So because its been so hard to obtain, people should no longer want the phone. Its three months old. Hell the galaxy s 3 is six months old and people are still buying it. But I guess it makes sense… your flexing your muscle. #LilManSyndrome

  • kresk

I was finally able to order get an official bumper! There were a few times that I almost bought one from eBay with an exorbitant mark up on the price. Glad I waited. Soon my Nexus will be complete :)

  • Darkbotic

    Hey guys!

First of all, sorry for upper case title…
I want to buy this phone as a gift to my girlfriend and I want to know if Google includes an invoice or anything that has the price in the shipping package.
I don’t want her to know that this phone was so expensive.
I would like a response from someone that have received it already.

    Thank you very much!

    • Johnnybgood2

You mean you don’t want her to know how CHEAP it is :)
It only comes with a delivery order/packing slip, no price only item/description/ordered qty/unit.It says “for detailed info about this order or other orders from Google Play, visit”

    • Robert M

I haven’t bought the Nexus 4 (yet, thinking about pulling the trigger), but I have received 2 Nexus 7s and can confirm that the packing slip included the price of the tablet on it.

Would it not be possible to ship it to you, unwrap the main brown box and then rewrap the Nexus 4 box minus any packing information?

      • Darkbotic

        I see…
She is in a business trip in FL and I’m in PA.
I just wanted to send it directly to her and avoid paying again for shipping.
But I guess I will have to do what you suggest.

Thank you very much for your response.

        I really appreciate it.

    • qpinto

it does has an invoice from the play store enclosed saying the price and which account with the last 4 numbers of credit card used. you will have to have it shipped to you, remove the invoice, and then give it to her.

      • Darkbotic

        Thank you very much!

        I really appreciate it.

  • Mobilewolf789

Omg the phone is still available!!! I do believe in miracles! Actually they’re are times I like to call out rip off artists… like maybe some eBay sellers … You know, tell everyone under the product listing to stop bidding and go straight to Google.

very simple. the demand on a product increases when sheep realize its hard to get. have fun sheep people

  • perry

Cant believe it was available on Tuesday. I placed my order thinking I would be waiting for a few weeks. Last night I received my tracking number info! Nexus is on its way!!!
