T-Mobile Galaxy Note Training Document Talks Processor, Software

Like the rest of you, we’ve been eager to discover more on T-Mobile’s incoming Galaxy Note, notably the type of processor, software, and HSPA+ speeds. Thanks to a leaked training sheet, we’ve got some answers and can say that T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note will sport a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1080p HD video recording, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, 2 megapixel front-facing camera and T-Mobile’s 4G HSPA+ network. Unfortunately, we can’t confirm if the Note runs on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 21Mbps or 42Mbps network, though smart money is on the latter.

So there you have it, we can now put the processor debate for the Galaxy Note on T-Mobile to rest.

Im getting the note i dont care, no to ATT and their overages and yes to t-mobile on their value plan i will finance the note and probaly pay it off early. Andthe note sounds nice but we dont even no oficialy which carriers will have it .

  • So how much do we think T-Mo may charge for this phone on a 2 year contract? $350?

    • Thefencechild

I’m worried they will do what I call “Torching it”. Which is getting a phone after it has been out for almost a year and sell it as a premium handset

      • David Rosen

if they released it today it’s already “torched” haha. sucks cause i would have totally wanted it like 3-5 months ago.

        • Nunya Beeswax

You don’t need a cell phone, and you need a time machine.

    • MarcusDW

The phone is 8 months old and if it comes with a Qcomm s3 in it then I can’t imagine it costing more than $229-249 on a Classic plan.  Probably $199 for value.  Mark my words!!

  • Mordecai

So I’m kind of dumb with this. Will this be an S3 or S4 processor?

    • Thefencechild

You’re not dumb, we all want to know that. I like the big screen, but if it’s an S3 and the Galaxy sIII has 2 GB Ram, then there is no way I’m getting this.

      • B-Mobile

i agree: if the Note has an S4 processor and 2GB of RAM i will forgo the SGIII HSPA+ 42 will be a plus, but not a dealbreaker

        • Nunya Beeswax

We don’t know yet if it will have a s3 or s4, but it definitely will not have 2 gb of ram.. It will have 1.

        • J-Hop2o6

It’s BEEN revealed in pics its using a S3/8660. The EXACT SAME as the AT&T version.

        • Jnicholson510

which carriers will have it does anyone know?

        • J-Hop2o6

I think the Note is only a GSM device. So for the US its only Tmo and AT&T.

  • Blackerwater

What that’s stupid. The debate was if it had the s3 or s4 processor, not what size it was.

  • Joe Biden

Doesn’t that mean it’s the same as the att note which had an S3 processor? Since the GS3 has a large display I think alot of us will pass on the note since it’s kinda old now!

  • You guys are funny. You know this phone will have an S3 or S4, get over it already. Most of you won’t even buy, and are just Window shopping as usual.

Oh I can’t wait for that to come out! It shows up, then it’s. I will wait until the other version comes out, because it’s gonna have an S7.

    Kick rocks.

  • The phone has an s3 snapdragon David had shots in the wild and it was an apq8060 same in the galaxy s2. No reason to get this phone Since the S3 is better. Also 1 gig ram just wait for the next note. I’m pretty sure samsung is trying to push the galaxy s series to galaxy note size eventually. Next year the galaxy s4 will probably be 5 inches. Samsung will most likely save the galaxy note name as their new tablet. So they have two brands people recognize. Like the iphone  and the ipad. It will be the Galaxy s whatever number and tablet will be called the note.

  • B-Mobile

one thing i noticed not mentioned above: the T-Mo Note comes with ICS (as it should: being that its dropping July 2012) but from what i understand the at&t Note is still on Gingerbread (for now)

    • That is True, Samsung promised to have the ICS update out for the AT&T sometime in the 2nd Quarter which is almost gone. I think AT&T is sitting on the update to try and get people to purchase the GS3. Even if they already have the note.

  • If Tmo put the GNote on the market with an S3 processor on HSPA+ 21Mbps, that would explain why they always fall short and should fire the fool that made those choices. I understand that they don’t want the Note to eat some of the SGS3 cake, but they need to understand that there is a large group out there waiting for the GNote and not the SGS3. That is why the SGS3 is not sold out on their network. Me personally prefer the GNote over the SGS3 and will pay full price for it. If the GNote turns out to be a flop, then i’ll save my chedda and keep my fingers cross that HTC answer to the GNote. It would be cool to have 5.3″ HTC Flyer with a pen running Sense 4.

    • I have the AT&T version that I have rooted and put a stripped down stock ROM on and I have to say its about the best 600$ I have ever spent.

    •  I bet it’s be S3 and HSPA+ 21Mbps……that’s how TMo rolls baby!

      • HeLLo

Why don’t you leave then it’s pathetic already that the only crap you’re posting is nonsense.Grow up already loser.

      • MatthewMurawski

Why would it have 21 Mbps HSPA+? That would make absolutely no sense. It’s going to have 42 Mbps HSPA+ and I’m not even second guessing that.

    • Galaxy Note has Snapdragon S3 and HSPA+42. We already know this.

  • MarcusDW

Yeah David you might wanna re-write that because it’s never been a question of how many cores in the processor but what generation it is.  s3 or s4, worlds of difference.

BUT I’m pretty sure it will be the former.

  • Sean W

IE 6. Someone is asking to be hacked.

    • Ken Sze

that is what all tmobile store computer uses, and the firewall for these systems block pretty much all external traffic.

    • Ash

Safari was the easiest to hack…not IE.
And if you know what you’re doing, you won’t get hack either.

  • Andrew Vallejo

All I want is real conformation on the S3 or S4 processor. S3 = Unlocked Galaxy Nexus and Nexus7. S4 = A little money saved.

    • J-Hop2o6

       Its a S3/8660.

    •  I don’t care what processor it is.  No matter what, it is going to be faster than any device I have ever owned so far…. heck my current phone is plenty fast enough as it is which is a MyTouch 4G…… which I’m starting to get sick of looking at now lol.

  • Get_at_Me

That rules out the exynos processor… Ofcourse the s4 and s3 chips have the same clock speed so listing a 1.5ghz dual core is still vague.

  • None

Pardon the dumb question (and I will duck just in case you throw something) but will this be the identical case as the original.  Is the casing changed in any way?

    • MarcusDW

      Yes, no.

      • Brent

its a different case, no ohysical home button

        • MarcusDW

Same case.  The back, sides, and front are exactly the same aside from the replaced home button.

    • MatthewMurawski

It looks exactly the same as the AT&T version (i717) except that it will be T-Mobile branded and not AT&T branded.

  • How much longer do I have to wait -___- Im buying it no matter what!

  • Bonay

As much as I want this phone im gonna wait till November and see if Google is gonna have this as one of the 5 new phones they are gonna sell. Thant way it doesn’t have any of T-Mobs crap on it and so Google gets my money and not T-Mob.

  • Ne0

t-mobile is terrible having the least any good phone of the 4 carriers. their latest 2 phone, s3 cost $100 more than other carrier and the note show how terrible t-mobile is.

    • HeLLo

Terrible really?.I rather have “terrible” phones on T-Mobile then having Verizon/AT&T raping my bank account like theres no tomorrow.

      • GwapoAko

That’s right!!! Verizon robbed us for 2 years family plan 700 minutes with dumb phone for $80 ,, We are now with Tmobile 1,000 minutes family plan using iPHone 4$ and 3GS ( 200 MB on iPhone 4$) and paying $65 a month.

    • GwapoAko

Just do a research they sell it in Walmart and Costco :0)

    •  I don’t know what your talking about but the only reason I have stayed with t-mobile is because most all of the hyped up phones on the other carriers are butt ugly…. like the no style droids that verizon sells….boo!

  • Wilma Flintstone

Whats the point of getting this now that the Note 2 is Launching in September?  That’s only 2 months away from July Launch of this device.  That killed my hype for this device.

    • MarcusDW

Exactly.  But you know we won’t get a Note 2 until about a year from now, so in their brains it makes sense.

    • Johnmcjohnerson

Where are you getting September? Last I saw it was rumored to be announced in October. We won’t see it on US shores until Q2 next year.

    •  Even if it lunches in September it’ll be europe and asia. Add 3-4 months for manufacturing and distribution and maybe europe will get the Note 2 in Q1 or Q2 of next year. US (as always) will get it 3-6 months later and TMobile (as always) will get it 6 months after everyone else. So if your a TMobile customer you should be able to get the Note 2 by Christmas of 2013. I’ve been with TMo for the past 12 years and if you ask me they won’t have the Note 2 till 2014 because that’s how TMo rolls.

      • NathanParks

tmobile got the galaxy s3 less than a month after europe. you suck at logic. try to troll properly to occupy your spare time.

        •  I have nothing productive to add to your comment Nathan other than HAHA LOL SNAP!!  “try to troll properly to occupy your time”  lol.  I needed a good laugh today :)

  • Is it the Snapdragon S3 still or did they update it to the S4?

    • J-Hop2o6

S3/8660. Its already been proven in previous pics. S4/Exynos Quad is for Note 2.

  • mingkee

It’s about time to call Loyalty and ask for some deals.
SIII and GNex are good but I need something with bigger screen and it’s not huge as Galaxy Tab Plus.

  • After 12 years with TMo I’m signing with Verizon or AT&T because of this kind of BS. The Note was released LAST YEAR and 7 months later we’re sitting here looking at leaked photos for the past 4 months. FU TMo and your staff of morons, you never have any new phones, NEVER! You can take your old ass Note and show it up your ass, I’m out of here, I’m sure Verizon will be happy to take my money.

    • Mgmessner

      you mad bro?

      • PCJ

        swing on me. hahahahah

    • Tbyrne

Then GTFOH! Sheesh! Same ol, same ol. The phones a beauty. I for one will love having it.

    • Jim Jiang

Exclusivity my friend. Talks to sign the phone only started in May.

    • I bought the ATT version when I switched to T-Mobile from Verizon. I
unlocked it and patched it using this radio hack from XDA and it works
perfectly on HSPA+. The Galaxy Note is AWESOME. There’s great things out there. You just gotta look for them. :)

      • Lani

But does the camera and video cam work correctly?  Which hack did you use?  Blaze?

    • HeLLo

Never heard of exclusivity moron?.Instead of making an ass out yourself why don’t you read up before posting like a child.Good riddance once less little child on T-Mobile.

    • tomnewtn

So the 1S isn’t new? The Lumia isn’t new? Now if you want to argue that they don’t get the top shelf devices, you have a point. And it’s amazing you’ve had your own cell phones for the first 12 years of your life.

    • GwapoAko

Then you are welcome to be robbed by Verizon or AT&T..
It is not the fault of Tmo… It was exclusive with At&t. Even VErizon and SPrint do not have the Gnote.

    • Jordan Pereira

It’s not T-Mobile’s fault since Samsung signed an exclusive contract with AT&T.

    • bleeew

Verizon hasnt updated theor phones besides the gs3. Why are you complaining im on verizon

And just like the exclusivity contract that all the others have mentioned we had to get Samsung to put the DC radio in the phone so it will be 42Mbps instead of 21. And lets not forget that Verizon will not be getting this device.

    • Why don’t you reword it to mean T-Mobile doesn’t get any of the phones you like when you want them and how you want them. They were the first in the US to sell the GSIII. And yes Verizon will be ecstatic to take your money because you’ll be paying them more of it.

Dude stop bitching, we all know that T-Mobile cant always get the exclusives, thats just business. And since youre happy with giving Verizon your money, go ahead, spend more of your hard earned money on a contract from Ma Bell #2(Verizon). My advice to you is man up, untuck your sack from between your legs and deal with it buddy. You sound like a 12 yr old boy who didnt get that shiny train set that daddy promised him but couldnt get because it was sold out. GROW UP!!!!!!

  • Sun

Ah… I want one. Wonder how much it’s going to be?

  • This has been the best time to be a T-Mobile customer, the SGS3 has been a great ad to the list, the SGNote which is still listed as top 3 phones out there but T-Mobile’s Note will come with ICS as stock operating system so this phone will scream not like the laggy AT&T version, I know because I had one and sent it back. The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus is still listed as top 4 phones by most critics. T-Mobile has really turned up the heat, they are getting their 1900 radio band up and running on HSPA+ and I am sure there will be lots more ahead. If anyone is leaving for Verizon, you are just kidding yourself, I have accounts with both Verizon and T-Mobile, I will always stay with T-Mobile, their data speeds in my area are freaken screaming fast, the price for their plans are the best, they allow more data in their plans then all other Carriers. If you shop around you will find that T-Mobile is the best deal in town and their list of top phones keeps getting bigger. Love It.

    • Samsunguy

lol the manufacturers really need to work on there updates, phones are just now receiving there updates to ICS and JellyBean is already out…

      • Nehemias Rodriguez

your right about that… I hate waiting for all these updates or being behind on updates becuz my phones hardware won’t support it

  • tomnewtn

No thanks. I’ll go for a premium Jelly Bean device, unlocked if it’s not a Samsung.

Just get a Nexus, so there wont be any headaches with the update game

Just get a Nexus, so there wont be any headaches with the update game

      • tomnewtn

Good advice. I have the original nexus, and if someone builds another as nicely as the first, I’ll probably bite. Not too enamored with the plasticky cheap feeling builds of Samsung.

  • bruce_leer0y

Was hyped about the Galaxy note, now i’m just gonna purchase a Google Nexus 7 device

  • Adal

note 2 is coming out september. who in the world is going to buy this phone?

    • Matthew Murawski

I am. The note 2 is rumored to be 5.5 inches (crossing the line), and is probably going to be following the design of the galaxy s3 (which I HATE). Also, it’s probably going to be really expensive compared to this, and I’ve been waiting long enough.

      • Justinreynolds98

If you’ve been waiting this long I would keep waiting for the Note 2. Your going to feel salty in a month when they announce it with hardware upgrades and improved software. This is no means official but I would almost guarantee that it comes with the Snapdragon S3 processor and 1GB of Ram.(Basically a bigger T-Mobile Galaxy S2. There could be a super slim chance  they add Ram, but doubtful. With the S4 processor shortages there’s no way. Its going to be just like the At&t version, just like the Galaxy Nexus wasn’t changed  for Sprint. Plus T-Mobile will probably charge $425 with a $50 mail in rebate for the phone. That was a joke!

    • Lani

Me.  If AT&T is expecting the Note2 in September 2012, TmobileUSA may not start selling their Note2 till September 2013, so I think I’ll just get the Note1 from TmobileUSA…

  • Nehemias Rodriguez

    • tomnewtn

Sounds reasonable. And let me say, it matters not to me whether you use upper or lower case type. It’s easier to read in upper case, and besides, it doesn’t negatively impact on my ego in any way. Upper, lower case, I could care less. Some people need to step out of the basement and into the sunshine once in awhile.

      • Nehemias Rodriguez

huh? what are you guys talking about?

  • tmonews_fan

I have to agree with a couple of previous posters, telling us it has a dual-core 1.5Ghz CPU doesn’t technically even narrow down whether it has an Exynos chip (albeit there are no current phones running the 4212, it _is_ a dual-core 1.5Ghz CPU) or S3 or S4 (both have a DC 1.5 variant).  As for JHop2o6’s certainty that it is an S3, please direct me to the images that backup your comment (I’d like to know).

Im happy that T-Mobile is getting this phone. It will be a most welcomed addition to their lineup, which has gotten good since the introduction of the Sensation. Im still holding on to my Nexus One, and eager to upgrade to a Nexus device, and cop this Note for my little bro

i was thinking about geting the galaxy note but the GSIII seems very convincing. and i stil dont know the specs of the tmo note

    • MatthewMurawski

Galaxy S3 is ugly and has an unpleasant user interface. I’d suggest waiting for the note.
