T-Mobile Galaxy S III Confirmed Through First Test Pic Shot?

Well, what have we here? The boys at PocketNow have acquired what they believe are the first test shots for Galaxy S III US carrier units. There’s nothing here you can print and frame, but there is at least one picture labeled as the SGH-T999, which we’ve wholeheartedly believe is the Galaxy S III. Unfortunately, there isn’t much here to tell us anything that we really want to know, like a release date or price…but the existence of the pictures themselves tell us one thing, T-Mobile has a Galaxy S III variant hanging out somewhere in the world.

what i wanna know if its gonna have quadcore exynos or dual core snapdragon s4

    • tomherguz

Apparently all of the US GS3 are not going to have quad-core.

      • haters on the rocks

tmobile might have a chance that it could be quad-core because most of the quad-core are not lte compatible but are compatible to hspa+ that’s what i read on other blogging website.

        • Ilyas

According to Samsung, only the Korean version is to have quad-core Exynos with LTE. All of the American versions are to utilize the dual-core Snapdragon S4.

        • MarcusDW

but the Quad Exynos doesn’t go up to 42Mbps HSPA+. Only 21.

I would like to see us get the Quad-Core S4 but that probably won’t happen.

        • People aren’t getting those speeds anyway, so it doesn’t really matter. Also…

What would you want? A faster phone with fast speeds? Or a fast phone with faster speeds ( depending on the network )?

I will always take a faster phone, that’s just me. I don’t have any phones with carrier branding right now, and I love the performance of my devices.

        • MarcusDW

I hear you J. I would take the Exynos 21+ over the S4 Snapdragon 42+ cuz I’m on wifi at home and edge at work and 21Mbps is just fine for me in between.

        • Yes sir, yes sir. I don’t need 42mb speeds on my cell phone, because I have home Internet services ya know. I stay on wifi as well. I have the 5gb plan, but my Note runs on edge. My Nexus, blazing in at very fast 4g speeds for t-mobile.

        • jessejames111981

you guys are forgetting the fact the s4 isn’t an inferior chip

        • Get_at_Me

TMO has less of a reason to go S4 than the other big 3. Sure,
theoretical download speeds of the exynos are half of the newer qualcomm
chips, i dont think it matters in the grand scheme of things. TMO
still considers 21mbps to be 4G….i remember doing speed tests on the
Sidekick 4G and Galaxy S 4G….i was able to get 12-14mbps down on those
phones…..Thats what i average on my gs2…..Altho ive gotten as high as 24mbps on it!!!!…..I vote exynos!!!!

        • now_onTMO

let’s hope so, but knowing how carriers promote their phones… they want to advertise their 4G to attract customers… pffft

        • jessejames111981

people care more about download speed over different processors.

        • Kevinmarchibald

I might be okay with the S4 Pro, with its higher clocked GPU and dual channel DDR3 to be a closer match to the overclocked Mali in the SGS3. GPU performance seems to matter more now with GPU acceleration of the Android GUI in ICS. Any chance that the S4 Pro would be ready in a summer release of the T-Mobile SGS3?

    • NuShrike

As it has always been, TMOUSA will never get any Exynos, period.

      • jessejames111981

most customers don’t know there is a difference so can’t be bent over

  • Deadeye37

Can I get the job where I get to test drive these phones before they’re even announced?

    • Not writing like that… Saying “Can” is implying we know something about you… How about asking “How”; you might get the actual answer you were intending to receive.

      • Kenny

        Buzzzzzz minus 1 pal!

  • rwc1792

Does that post-it note say T669 or T699 on it?

    • Deadeye37

      T669 I believe….

      The mystery deepens……

      • Wilma Flintstone

        THE BUTLER DID IT!!!! O.O

    • MarcusDW

Looks like T669 to me too but I can’t make out anything else at all.

  • phonegeek

If this can make me forget my galaxy nexus I’ll be highly impressed.

I’m starting to get tired of all these rumors about devices. I’ve been waiting for the G-Note after a rumored device was seen in the wild. Now there are rumors about GS3. When does all this madness stop? Where is the G-Note that we saw almost one month ago?

    • Just import the N7000.  It will be working on their 4G network by the end of the year, and it has not bloatware from T-Mobile.  Also, it is down in price now, much less that it will be full cost through TMo.  Just a thought for you.

But just a word to you….if you are tired of all the rumors, take a break and go read something else.  Everyone needs a break sometimes.

      • jessejames111981

bloat doesn’t mean anything because its always removable. Why wait to have it work on 4g when you can get a att or future (maybe?) tmo version that could work on 4g when you first get it. I don’t see the point in waiting. No one knows exactly when it will happen. What if it happens next spring. You want to spend a year on edge?

        • Patience, it pays off.

        • jessejames111981

chances are if you are willing to import a phone its not a far stretch to assume you are the type of user who doesn’t usually go 8 months without upgrading your phone. So by the time the switch happens you’d already have a new phone or be looking for one.

        • Assumptions

    • Wilma Flintstone

Same here. I’m in need of a new phone and am also waiting on that Note.  Come on Tmo, hurry up with that pricing.  If it’s above $500 Off Contract then I’m have to say HELLO Unlocked AT&T Version because I’m seeing them go for $500 on Craigslist.  I like the White version’s Look BUT I like the Black version’s texture.  The Black Note feels MUCH more durable than the White Note.

  • now_onTMO

i’m speculating that we’ll get the quad core exynos version.. from the android police video where the t999 was listed on the deviceand in the area (probably), i feel somehow it’s a similar version to the international version… LOL , i hope i’m right, it’s just what i feel.. lol

  • now_onTMO

quad core exynos with hspa+ 42!!

    yes please

  • AM3RIG

I have the SGII in my hand. If SG3 went with Dual Core, See No point in upgrading from dual core to dual core since the SGII AND SGIII hardware are very similar! therefore SGIII is wasting !

  • eBruins77

This is going to be my first android device in my smartphone user career, ditching a long line of blackberrys, can’t wait!

    • Gordo

You are in store for an entirely, all around, hands down, much better mobile experience!!
