That’s right, news that I am sure has kept at least a few of you up at night! Effective December 1, the Nokia 5610 will make its return to the T-mobile lineup. After a little error in production causing it to be yanked from shelves, T-mobile and Nokia are proud to announce the return of this music centric device back to the holiday phone selection.

Of course the reality is that only a few phones were affected by a display issue that resulted from a production flaw and T-mobile took steps to remove the product from inventory before any more defective phones could be placed in customers hands. Regardless, T-mobile is aware that in the interim customers may have trouble with already existing devices and offered a number of solutions to help solve any troubles that may have arisen via warranty of insurance issues.

Look for this phone back in the Retail channels after December 1.

Word on the street is calling for a total recall halt to sales of the Nokia 5610 from all T-mobile sales outlets. Apparenly a flaw in the manufacturing process has led to some defects in the device which causes it spontaneously break out into a rendition of “YMCA.” I’m making up the last part, hopefully everyone already knew that. No word for a return date back to stores but I imagine with a nice collection of upcoming devices, this won’t be a big blip on the radar.

The problem lies in a defective component that affects the display screen in a small amount of phones. T-mobile isn’t taking chances however and had recalled the entire lot of phones sold. If you are experiencing issues with your device you should contact customer care. T-mobile has stopped advertising for his device for the remainder of 2008 and customers in need of a warranty replacement or insurance claim will be offered the option of the Nokia 5310 or 6301. There is no indication that the phone won’t be returning to the lineup as the information stated that Nokia has identified the problem so we can expect new handsets sometime after the beginning of the year.

I guess I’d rather have a defective screen than a battery blow up in my pocket.

We saw here that T-mobile added a sticker to their accessories stating their compatibility with Nokia models 6133, 6103, 6136, 5300, 2760, 6263, 6301, 3555, 1208, 5610, and the 5310. The bolded ones are the handsets that haven’t been released to T-mobile yet. The good news is that we can expect all five of these out in the next three months. The MyFave-less (See: Without MyFaves) 2760 and 1208 will be prepaid T-mobile handsets released on April 30th, at Wal-Mart stores on May 5th, and Target stores on May 19th. For those with standards so high that a VGA camera wont suffice, the other three Nokias should be out on May 12th, 19th, or the 21st. Hallelujah It’s raining Nokias!

Note: We have conflicting info on whether the 2760 will be prepaid or not. Lets leave it at TBD for now.
