T-Mobile Accidentally Adds AT&T Smartphone To #FindTheElf Image?

Bravo to TmoNews Reader Cory who just pointed out in the comments what nobody else had managed to discover. T-Mobile made a little #doh mistake with the addition of an AT&T Galaxy S II smartphone in their How it Works guide for the upcoming #FindTheElf Twitter holiday contest.

We’re not reading anything into this other than it being a little photoshop mishap as they happen to even the best companies. Still, it’s rather funny that of all companies to use…they used AT&T. As Andrew just pointed out to me, they didn’t specifically say this was only open to T-Mobile customers so…maybe AT&T customers can win as well? The contest rules do state it’s open to legal residents of the US age 18 and older. Still, using an AT&T smartphone strikes me as humorous.

Little bit of weekend fun for you!

      Yup Lmfao

  • Simple and tiny mistake, but I’m sure there are going to be people with some really stupid ideas in their head as to why this happened. There always are.

This is what #attmobile looks like?

    • First of all, it’s not a “tiny” mistake, more like stupid – that is if they didn’t do it on purpose…hmmm…

    • MagentaMadness

I’m sorry but this “mistake” should never happen. Ever see Chevy use a Ford in their  ads? This was done on purpose.

  • Nolachef54

It is also in a AT&T Store, check out the Orange and Teal lights behind the phone, def an AT&T store

    • Malarco4

its just the lighting in the pic. The original playground stores look like pic with the yellow bars before being redesigned removing all the yellow from the stores. I use to work in a playground store when I worked for T-Mobile and the lighting in them can be weird at times.

  • epic fail…

  • MagentaMadness

HAHA, someone def had a little fun with that one and it got past the proof readers lmao.

T-Mobile use the same AT&T phone image in the internal upgrade order form. Employees, check it out next time. My co-workers and I find it quite funny.

  • BigMixxx

    Really?  REALLY!?  *facepalm*

This promo was geared towards Tmobile customers and customers who don’t yet have Tmobile. Nothing wrong with using an AT&T phone, I’m sure some people with AT&T phones participated in the promotion :P

  • Are we ever gonna get the Galaxy Nexus?  I like the Galaxy S II but it’s already obsolete when it came out lol, I want Ice Cream Sandwich

    • Jaygqitalia

From the reviews that have been posted about the phone itself. Seems like a big disappointment

Yet another stupid TMo Marketing Move.

  • J. Williams

    Very sad mistake, damn.

  • HH

I don’t believe this was real. I think the picture submitted was either altered or fake.

    • It was real…I grabbed it off their webpage. Look at the previous article we did on it, same image with the same phone.

  • Haha awesome!! Thanks David!

    • Ha, you found it! I never even noticed that and I don’t think anyone else did! Nice work!

That not an AT&T Galaxy S II, it’s actually an AT&T Infuse 4G.

I guess that mistake is easy to make since the Infuse 4G looks so much like the European Galaxy S II.

    • Ehh…not so sure about that…looks more like the Galaxy S 2.

  • J Mobile Hite 352

    GREAT :<4 IT! T*MOBILE!

Looks like u can do better than Sprint keep up the good work!!!

  • Soooo….  T-Mobile wouldn’t be interested in getting AT&T customers?  Dont see why this is at all a deal, much less a big one.
