Nokia Lumia 710 Makes “Coming Soon” Appearance On T-Mobile Website

It’s common for T-Mobile to list upcoming smartphones on their website as “coming soon” so we’re not surprised to see the upcoming Nokia Lumia 710 Windows Phone hit T-Mobile.com. Actually, if I recall correctly, the Lumia 710 has been on the T-Mobile website for a few days now just caught internets attention. The Lumia 710 hits on January 11th for $50.

“Available in a black or white finish, the Nokia Lumia 710 features a 3.7-inch ClearBlack WVGA scratch-resistant display for outstanding outdoor viewing and a Qualcomm 1.4 GHz Snapdragon™ processor providing speedy access to entertainment and information on-the-go. It also features a 5-megapixel camera with Nokia’s leading camera technology, enabling people to take pictures in almost any light condition and share on social networks in seconds.”

That’s been on  for 2 weeks at least to be honest.

  • MIKEEEEE

t-mo better get some top of the line ANDROIDS to sell instead of this.

    • http://tmonews.com David

Come on Mike, not every new phone needs to be Android.

      • Gwapo

Yup yup!!! Amen!!! I might get a windows phone next year!!!!

      • Gwapo

David.. Any updates on the Tmobile and ATT roaming agreement? I want to know if we can get 3G on the Iphone 4$ soon :0)  Thanks

        • http://tmonews.com David

No, no details yet, as soon as I get them…I’ll post them!

There are some top of the line Android handsets in the line-up.  What’s wrong with having good handsets using WP7?

I for one am going to ditch the MyTouch 4G I have (tired of apps randomly crashing and the freezes) to move to WP7.  Just waiting for the right hardware.

    • Landmarkcm

Not everybody wants Android have you tried wp? Im stoked to get this!

  • Ching_Chong_Eggrolls

I’m really expecting to see that super windows phone htc is bringing in. Hope it’s coming for tmobile. But I’ll be saving up for GS3. Probably coming here in us in next December. Til then GS4 will be announced. :/

  • Jake

Any word on pricing? Both on contract and non-contract, I would really like to try Windows phone.

    • Landmarkcm

It will be 49.00 after mail in rebate of 50.00 on a classic plan. The euro  cost is showing like 270. So it should be about 349.00 US dollars. I am going to get mine on the value plan which is cheaper overall. Im hoping less then 99.00 down more like 50 bucks downpayment.. :)

  • Ilyas_k15

They should have released Lumia 800 instead, it looks better

    • Anonymous

I don’t think that the Lumia 800 was ever an option for T-Mobile.  AT&T is Microsoft’s premiere Windows Phone partner (which means that AT&T will get first dibs for all high end WP7 devices)

  • yoo

I think I may be getting this, but only because i need a new phone badly (Nokia Nuron truly dissapointed) and I’m curious about trying out WPMango, no other WP7 phones will be coming out soon right =/

    • None

that is what I want to know too — any other manufacturers 1st quarter for windows phone?

    • Anonymous

Why didn’t you get the C7 Astound?

      • yoo

My contract expired right around the same time the Nuron came out, and so i upgraded to it. But I’m thinking of either buying unlocked or giving WP7 a try.

Despite the bad reviews i really love my Dell venue Pro and i don’t see myself departing from it any time soon now that i saw this is what t-mobile has up there sleeve, This is cool and disappointing at the same time, i was hoping T-Mobile will be getting a power house windows phone like the 800 but no, thats for big boys like AT&T and Verizon, we get the low end stuff. *sigh* hopefully that will change in the future when another company with the money to take on the big guys help team up or buys out t-mobile and get the REAL good phones, not a modified version of a cool phone i.e SSGS2

  • Don’t Really Care

Nokia’s presentation @ CES is on January 9th BTW.

Good timing I say.  This way we should know if there are any other Nokia phones coming to Tmo before the 710 is available.

But having been a long-time Tmo customer… I know better than to expect anything else.  I think the 710 is the best we’ll get from Nokia, at least for 2012.

Trying to stick w/ Tmobile, I find no incentive to ditch my Dell VP either.  And if boils down to 710 vs HTC Radar, I’ll take the 710.

      Im with you 100%

  • Anima

    >internets

I see what you did there , they should get the colored back plates aswell , that’s what gives the phone it’s eye candy

  • Tomnewtn

I purchased the E7 unlocked, and love it. If the 800 or 900 come to US unlocked, and reasonably priced, I’ll bite. The heck with locked phones!

    • yoo

I’ve considered the e7 since its such a beautiful device. Does 3g work on it? What do you think about it?

      • Tomnewtn

3g works great. Worked great in Italy too. I use it in the Seattle area. GPS is outstanding as is the browsing, and maps/navigation. Got the Anna update and soon the Belle update will pimp it out nicely. WIFI is great, and you can tether.  Bluetooth connects great too. My impression is that the radios in Nokia are very good quality. I also have a G2x that works flawlessly, and my trusty reliable Nexus One.

        • Tomnewtn

and the keyboard, either on screen, or physical, are outstanding. I think I like the on screen keyboard better than Androids. The display in amoled clear black and beautiful.

I want the Lumia 800.  The Lumia 710 looks like something from the 1990s.  I rather get the HTC Radar instead of the 710.  I don’t know, maybe I’ll just go to Verizon or Sprint depending who gets a high end Nokia in the next few months.

Hoping Sprint gets some decent Windows phones since Verizon looks like they’re going to start gouging their customers($2/month for online payment).  Verizon is starting to look like ATT. Yuck!

    • Landmarkcm

This has better specs overall  then the Radar & to me looks better but everyone has a diff opinion..

      • Lubbalots

Lumia 710 has better specs than the radar?  No wonder tmo likes to cater to the poor.

        • Landmarkcm

Lame comment (w the poor part)  well im not “poor” as you put it. Your on Tmobile too so thats hypocrytical and besides the point & that im even wasting my time to reply to this.  Point is I like what I see with  Tmobiles offering of the Lumia. Not quite certain again how you feel the radar is so much better?  All reports say the 1.4 ghz processor on the Lumia is faster then the radars and makes a difference. Although wp7 im sure runs fine on both. and I would like to try Nokias camera as they are known for that as well. Specs sheet shows it as having a few more options.. Im actually switching back to Tmo from Sprint as they are to slow in bringing out new windowsphones :)

        • Landmarkcm

Oh just noticed thought you had the radar so assumed you were on Tmobile as well. Anyway still curious as to what you think is so much better on the radar to consider. If anything they are about equal overall.

        • Michael Prince

Lumia has Nokia quality. HTC … yeah … not so much,

  • Landmarkcm

I guess because people will always find something wrong but the 710 is not that much different from the 800 except for SLIGHTLY diff camera (remember megapixels dont make all the difference). Anyway they have the same processor and the screen quality on the 710 looks just fine to me. I actually like the way the 710 looks better as well. I love wp & am waiting for this to launch on the 11th to be my next phone will be getting the white one. Overall it looks to be better then the radar,  & the specs are much better! then other entry level smartphones.

    • Lubbalots

Better than the radar?  You kidding me?

      • Landmarkcm

Lol Matter of opinion they both offer slight little different things besides the front facing cam and the radar offers a cple of there own apps from htc. The Nokia im sure will take better photos even thought there both 5mp cameras also processor speed is faster on the Lumia, & I’ll take nokia drive a free turn by turn great navigation app over a front facing camera which at this point I have no need for. Plus I think the Lumia looks better.. I would get the radar if this werent coming out though. How do you figure it’s so much better??

        • tmoguy1

I work at a T-mobile store and I have a degree in business
so I speak from experience when I say that customers, who never use a camera,
still want the Best camera on the phone. Customers who never download apps want
the phone with the largest marketplace. You see, for most costumers it’s all
about popularity, brand image, and overall value for the money they spend.

If I’m shelling out $500-$600 for a phone, then I may as
well get the one with the best specs. If I’m entering a two-year contract to
get a phone, I should get the best. The average customer comes in asking two
questions, What’s Your Best Phone? And, Do You have IPhone?

While there are still frugal customers who shop smart
(meaning they buy what they really need), most customers want the newest
hottest most popular things. That’s why you don’t find a huge selection of
basic phones in stores any more.

The customer base is just not there.

        • tmoguy1

Sorry, That was in reference to why the 800 would be a better phone than 710.

        • Landmarkcm

Hey just reading this I hear ya. I still think I w be more then Satisfied w the 710 holding out for it over the Radar & I hope it sells well. Im picky but not that picky ya know what I mean. Plus at the price point its gonna be at. Your getting alot!

        • Landmarkcm

So for a wp lover like myself I think it will be great

        • Landmarkcm

P.S the best phone depends on the individual it’s been shown that reps in stores purposely have steered people away from windowsphone and towards android either because a thats what they liked! Or they just arent educated on it. They should probe a little bit more & wp would be doing even better. Hopefully the tide is turning..As I have read Tmobile has been instructed to feature wp more and push the 710 in stores!

  • http://twitter.com/markguim Mark Guim

I thought it was releasing on the 11th, not 14th?

    • Landmarkcm

It is the 11th! & cant come fast enough for me

  • Lubbalots

Rumors,  more WP heading to ATT: Nokia Ace and lumia 800, HTC radiant, and Samsung Mandel.

  • tmoguy1

I own a Samsung Galaxy S2, and won an HTC Radar. To be honest I used the Galaxy for about 2 months, and since I tried the Radar, I haven’t gone back. The apps are great *For Me* I have similar games to what I used on Android and Even some better ones that Never Crash.I have since bought my wife the same phone and she loves it, also coming from android (galaxy s 4g).

I honestly like the OS, and working in a store I can say that we sell a number of Radars, and They Never Come Back.
But I think this is a step in the wrong direction for T-mobile.
I was considering buying an unlocked Iphone 4S, mainly becasue I like smaller phones and it has a great camera. But it would be slow on Tmo’s network.
Windows could actually win me over if t-mobile would just carry one with similar Iphone 5 Specs, Duo core, 8 mp, MORE MEMORY!!

But Other carriers are getting those. (well not duo core). Anyway.
Windows is kinda cheating themselves putting out these cheaper handsets. The Radar feels better and more high-end than the 710.
That cheaper feel won’t win any customers.
If I were Windows, I’d launch a small handful of phones all with higher specs. In the long term I think they’d build a better reputation that way.
Now people just see them as Cheap but good.
That’s not a great way to be seen.

    • tmoguy1

Sorry meant Iphone 4s specs not 5.

    • Landmarkcm

Hey so I recently switched back from Sprint specifically for the 710 I am stoked to get the white one.. You really think the Radar is that much better? I was thinking of getting it but I actually think the Lumia looks better, will prob take little bit better photos and I want the Nokia drive app! Plus it has a slightly faster processor. I wouldnt consider it low end esp for the price! :)

  • Landmarkcm

The best phone depends on the individual it’s been shown that reps in stores purposely have steered people away from windowsphone and towards android either because a thats what they liked! • questionaire

is this one coming with interchangeable backplates? i watched a hands on video and they said that nokia includes 3 interchangebale back plates with the phone

    • Landmarkcm

I read where you get 1 extra color backplate included. Im wondering if you can choose the color you want like if i get the White phone that already has the black back. I would like my extra color to be the blue one..

  • Landmarkcm

Well after reading the review here and the camera is one of the main impt feautures to me Im pretty sure I am going to go with the Radar! instead & I thought the camera was Nokias Strong point. But I just read where the radars camera flash can perform even up to 10 feet away! And saw a pic taken in complete darkness which I believe because my htc arrive wp I had on Sprint was that good.
