Samsung Product Page Now Live For T-Mobile Galaxy S II

While we await details and more “in the wild” shots of the Samsung Galaxy S II, the T-Mobile GSII product page has gone live on Samsung’s website. Unfortunately we aren’t going to learn anything we don’t know already know and things we are desperate to learn about: such as the processor, processor and processor aren’t anywhere to be found.

Otherwise there is a precent decent rundown of features and specs but for most of you already following the Galaxy S II news cycle  you won’t find anything new or exciting. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting more reading material on the Galaxy S II for T-Mobile and are ok with some of the key details missing then hit the source link below.

Hah! No need to crack open an editor. But, I see some issue with your code. Your integers seem to be reversed.

          WilmaCash = 4;

Nice phone and feature, but no more samsung phone for me.

  • Raquel3912

How far in advance do companies typically post live pages before the actual release? Could this be a clue of when the release date is??

  • Wilma Flintstone

Now I’m in a bit of a rut:
    1. The N9 is waaayyyy overpriced right now ($924 to import to be exact – I expected an inflated price but that’s ridiculous).
    2. The LG Optimus 3D/Thrill4G is on (A)ccuse(T)orture&(T)errorize
    3. The GS2 is supposedly coming in October (I’m not going another month with this HD2)
    4. The Nexus Prime is showing no signs of coming to Tmobile outside of being a Nexus device which Tmobile usually always gets.
    5. The G2x seems to have alot of issues from what I’ve heard

So, now, what to do, what to do?  I know, take donations toward the N9.  Anybody want to donate to the “Get Wilma Flintstone a N9” Fund?  The joy you’ll get from knowing you’ve helped a valiant, rightful and just cause (of placing a Meego device into the pockets of one with such a dire need) will be oh so rewarding.

    • Chatter

Wilma – latest news out of Singapore is that the phone will retail for US$750 for 64GB but everyone expects the phone to drop in price almost immediately. Unfortunately, that means hanging on to your current phonef or atleast 2-3 months. This doesn’t help ya much but you are a MeegoGal so try to stay true….

I’ve heard that the price will drop soon as well.  Hopefully that’s true but as you said, it’ll be in around 2-3 months.  If only that person finished that Meego Build on the HD2, I’d flash that on it and that would hold me over til the price drop.  I’m getting the 64gb version because 16gb without a MicroSD card slot will not work for me.

    • Ash

May I ask what’s wrong with your HD2?
Did you try android or WP7 on it? Or even custom WM roms?

I’m sure it can last another month or so, yes?

Too much to name.  Just know that I’m on my 7th HD2.  From Software to Hardware issues without any Mod’s, custom Roms or anything.  Straight Manufacturer issues.
I tried Android on it but only through SD card Bootloader so not an actual flash.  Problem is getting my contacts, etc from my Windows Mobile HD2 to Android.

That’s quite unfortunate, first unit and never had any problems.
Now on sensation and HD2 is my backup/play unit.
What Zanefbanks said, and you can sync to outlook then install HTC sync and sync from outlook to your android, if you are running sense version.

      lol @ your: “Get Wilma Flintstone a N9″ Fund?…” <— Only you Wilma! ;o)

Sorry I cannot contribute, as I am saving my pennies for the (hopefully to launch with Tmo bands) Nexus 3/Prime. If it doesn't, I may have to consider the SGS 2 – either way, I'll be paying full price (no contract discount).Anyway, good luck with your phone decision – so many to choose from! =o)

      • Wilma Flintstone

Lol!!!  I agree with ya Bimmz.  Hopefully the Nexus Prime comes to Tmo.  Also agree with the NO CONTRACT portion as well.

Despite my general aversion to Samsung phones (bad Galaxy S experience), I am actually curious about the Nexus Prime. With Google’s direct involvement, I don’t think Samsung would release a phone that’s missing advertised functionality. My Sensation works just fine, but I always wanted a Nexus device. What to do, what to do….

Not much difference than the Galaxy S… not worth dropping money for same phone but with a FFC.

Almost sure it is Exynos because “The immensely powerful C210 Dual Core processor gives you the velocity….”  that processor is the Exynos and  later in that page they so mention each device individually so hopefully it means they actually wrote the whole article and specified the differences. ” It’s no wonder we gave the Galaxy S II a supersized screen—4.27″ (AT&T) and 4.5″ (Sprint and T-Mobile)”

sigh, its still 480 x 800 resolution.  Doubt i’ll be hopping on this when it releases.

Wanted: samsung phone with Super AMOLED+ screen at QHD resolution.
Reality: won’t happen for a very long time.

I’ve got a feeling 480 x 800 @ 4.52″ will look very grainy, but by golly, it’ll be vibrant with color!

I still remember before the US Galaxy S’ came out last year Samsung said “Samsung Galaxy S phones will come with 2.1 but will be upgradeable to 2.2”

They kept their word.  Now here we are today on the eve of the (US) Galaxy S II coming out but this time there has been no mention (like Sony-Ericsson has) as to if the Galaxy S II will be upgraded to ICS.

Now I honestly don’t doubt that the Hercules will get official(or unofficial) ICS but I do not want to go into spring regretting not waiting for a similar phone that COMES with ICS installed.

Not that the Hercules is not an awesome phone but for anybody who may be on the fence about this phone, give it a couple months after its released before picking it up.

    • Auser72

The longer this phone takes to come out, the less desirable and relevant it becomes. It’s trailblazing features when first announced have become quite pedestrian with the steep competition as of lately.

Unlike the Froyo to Gingerbread upgrade, the ICS will be a major leap forward. Giving smartphones alot of the tablet features of Honeycomb, and is designed to take advantage of larger displays and dual core processors that are now the standard of newer super smartphones. Also supposed have better systems integration for smoother operation.

I was thinking of holding out for this but ended up getting an early full upgrade so got the Sensation.
The huge deal breaker though was that the HTC email client is much better IMHO than Samsung’s offering.
But boy the Hercules is going to be fast fast fast.

Hopefully it can still use RCA out but I don’t know.  You will need an adapter for your MHL HDMI output because today’s TVs aren’t MHL capable but I really hope they hurry that up.  If its just like with the Infuse 4G then its pretty retarded.

    Can some one answer this?
    (a) Does this have UMA (Wi-Fi calling)?
    (b) Does this have hotspot (Wi-Fi Sharing)?

    thanks guys.

    • Yes, I believe both of those come with Android 2.2. Not entirely sure… But yeah, I doubt a phone this feature-packed would lack one of those features when my Samsung Vibrant is capable of both.

2.2 itself doesn’t have wifi calling.  it is a tmobile specific app/feature.  i’m sure this phone will have it, agreed.

” C210 Dual Core processor” straight off the samsung official page I signed up and got the email around 1am

    • Kevinmarchibald

      That’s the Exynos, correct?

      • Anonymous

Yes. But I’ve heard that the gs2 will be 42mbps capable, but the exynos can’t support that yet. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve heard conflicting stories.

        • Kevinmarchibald

That’s what I’ve read, too. On the other hand, I’ve also read that the Exynos can support HSPA+ 42 but that it wasn’t certified for that, so might be a matter of certification delay vs. when T-Mobile wants to release it that decides what chip is inside. That makes more sense to me because it would be odd to me if the Exynos couldn’t handle a bump up in HSPA+ bandwidth but could handle the all-new, and likely more complicated LTE technology. The same chip uncertainty applies to the Nexus Prime if T-Mobile’s planning on offering it in the October/November time frame.

        • Anonymous

My mytouch 4g couldnt survive being thrown across the room and I ended with an early upgrade and got the Sensation. So far very happy although I was planning on waiting and getting the GS@ddd69a48a7bc278d917eb0a1b411920f:disqus I am looking forward to hearing about how people are liking it once its released.
I use my phone for business and the huge deal breaker for me was that HTC has a much better email client than Samsung.

Love the Galaxy S II.  Unfortunately, not the one designed for the T-Mo version.  It’s too round for my taste.  I perfer the exterior looks of the one Samsung made for ATT – more square/boxy with sharper corners.  In my opinion, the T-Mo version looked the worst out of the three designs.  Kinda disappointed because of that.

    • Dime04

Totally agree. This phone has got me good. Switching to AT&T as soon as this phone is released. No disrespect to T-Mo, I’ve never had a reason to leave til now and fortunately down here in South Texas all 4 carriers have excellent service. So it was just a matter of which carrier was gonna have the closest looking to the EU version.

Hmm…  a phone purchased because of the corners. There’s some food for thought.

  • Kenshiro

Please, Samsung. Ship this phone with the same dual-core as the Nexus Prime.

  • Ilyas_k15

Ok people, since a lot of you like to complain, let’s get some facts straight:
    1) Those of you who say that the processor isn’t good enough (you demand 1.5 GHz processor), 1.2 GHz is more than enough to handle ALL of your needs. Even though it might not be the fantastic Exynos processor, the Quadrant scores are still over 3,00, which is great, so you don’t need more than that.
    2) If you think it’s ugly, too circular, etc., then don’t get it! They won’t change it just because you don’t like it. Switch to AT&T/Spring if you if you have problems with this version.
    3) If you’re not satisfied with the Samsung Touchwiz UI, don’t use it. Get LauncherPro, ADW.Launcher, GO! Launcher, or whatever you think will suit you best.
    4) If you say that the 480×800 resolution is too low for you, wait for the Nexus Prime or the Amaze 4G, their screens have higher resolutions. I don’t see why you would complain about something so unimportant, Samsung’s Super AMOLED screens are gorgeous, and extra pixels won’t make a significant difference.
    5) If you say it’s too big, GET SOMETHING ELSE! This phone is designed to be an entertainment powerhouse, yet still be thin and versatile. If the screen is too big for you, too damn bad, get a RAZR then.

As for TmoNews, I discovered (I hope that I am actually the first one to notice this) some new information. It might not be super important, but I still think it’s something that everyone would like to hear. The phone will have an 1850 mAh battery, which is a great for this sort of device. If you wonder how I got this information, it’s in the Accessories section of the link you’ve provided. I hope this information is actually new and useful.

I apologize if I have seriously offended anyone, but the complaining is becoming more and more unbearable every single day. Please people, do your research before commenting, look at the positives before whining about the negatives, and if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. No one cares whether you like the device/service/etc. or not, it makes you look bad, and it’s annoying for others to read.

Thank you all for your attention.

NAh man ur just speaking ur mind and heck some truth too. IM a sucker for a high end screen though. I love my QHD res. But i looked at the ATT infuse 4g with the SAP display and yes the res is bigger but so what just hold the phone further away from ur face lol MY problem is i wish it had HDMI out but a dedicated one. With phones like the G2x i thought phones were going this way but what happened?? MHL Adapters??? Come on thats GA… Homo Sexual of that device :) HAHAHA  (if u want scroll down to a older post of mine to get this joke) But i guess maybe they figure well if u gotta carry the cable why not the adapter. A docking station would be so much better that connects through the micro USB  to then full hdmi. There are so many plus sides to this phone over my sensation, The camera, the battery life are 2 that come to mind. But the Prime will be interesting to see with a 720p dis. bc it doesn’t really exist to my knowledge. I have lots of Divx Files i would love to put on my phone but rock player plays them poorly and I’m not sitting there and converting them. Either way the G2X is kind of a long lost memory and we as Tmobile Customers have ALLLLLLOT of awesome phones to look forward too in the next few months. lol i kinda wanna see if the Titan is just TOO BIG.

On your point about the CPU, if they are going to make T-Mobile customers wait until October to release a phone that will have been available through other carriers for a month, and would also be releasing along side the HTC Amaze and Nexus Prime (both with 1.5 GHz dual-cores), they should at the very least add some incentive to purchase the phone or it will lose sales to the HTC with a superior CPU and qHD display. It would be utterly stupid to release this phone as late as October without a CPU or HD display to compete the Nexus and Amaze. That’s why I say one of two things will happen. 1. It will release late September with the same specs as the other carriers, or 2. it will release in October as rumored, with an upgraded 1.5 GHz dual-core.

  • So what?  Am I supposed to buy this after seeing how hard DT is trying to sell T-Mobile?  Am I supposed to spend my hard earned cash knowing that it may work like I want it to in a few months?  No thanks, but I’ll pass.

    • Bratty

Ok….who asked you to buy this? Its an informational post – not a sales call to *you*. Chill dude.

    • Macman73076

The purchase of tmobile by att is not a guarantee and has hit speed recently i’ve heard. But I had also read that the purchase price att offered would cover the cost of handset replacements with similar handsets that work on att. If you bought the sg2 on tmobile and the deal goes through you would assuredly get att’s variant of the sg2 if and when it ever did go through. I have the htc g2 and am looking forward to getting the sg2 next month when it’s released by tmobile.

Then why is Android the best selling OS? Cnet did a poll…tech savy people prefer Android, non tech people like the Iphone better

        • Anonymous

I’m an android fan but to be perfectly honest with you, the reason why android is the best selling Os is because there are varieties of android devices, there are low end android devices which could boost the os’ sales volume..

        • David

Yeah but he said MOST people want Iphone. That is statistically untrue. Check out this poll, more people chose android and there are others on the net as well. Iphone trolls don’t do any research before posting http://mashable.com/2010/06/22/ios-4-android-froyo/

        • Anonymous

In comparison, if Apple sold a 3.2″, 3.5″, 4.0″, and a 4.3″ with and without KB’s… iPhones would be slaughtering the game.

I would never own an iOS phone because I find them extremely bland for my taste BUT I will admit that Apple would be far ahead if they got a little more creative.  Don’t they realize  this???

        • Chatter

Pimp, Apple could make multiple phones but their *one* phone kills every other phone in ratings, sales and profitability. They know their game. Market share is meaningless if you give phones away in bogo’s. Full disclosure: have an android but would jump ship it we ever got it on Tmo.

        • Anonymous

Hands down the iPhone is the best selling phone to date.  Mad respect to apple for that.

The Galaxy S one and two look to outdo that though/

3.7M iPhones sold in its first 8 months
10M Galaxy S’ sold in its first 7 months

17.3M iPhones total in 20 months
          5M GS2’s in just 85 days.

I don’t know the total to date numbers for the GSone or two today but I know that at this rate it is beating the iphones first years.

I see why Apple is trying to ban Galaxy sales lol

        • Anonymous

I’m not trying to be a fanboy or not defending either side, But when you think about it… maybe samsung was available to most carrier while apple was only to certain carrier… Just the US in example. That probably impact the number of sales of each phone.

        • Anonymous

Good point that makes a world of difference.  iPhone availability trickled out over the first year so they definitely had less of an advantage compared to Samsungs worldwide launch.

Hard to judge this fairly considering even the 4 was an AT&T exclusive for like 9 months in the states.

We’ll wait til 6 months after the GS2 and iP5 both hit the states and see whose the real champ! (in the states)

        • Phoney

If we add GS 1&2, then add Ip3gs &4. It’s only fair.

As people underneth already mentioned, 1 iphone vs. several android phones. That’s why Android is the best selling OS. Also, I agree with you tho… android is more for those who want to customized and do whatever their liking while iOS is more for those who want a simple ease to use phone. Of course you can always jailbreak it and all.

Don’t get me wrong, I been using android for maybe 2 years now… and its time for something new lol.

    • Mr_Vault

As I’ve said to others like you, the only reason you troll on Android sites is because NOTHING is happening at all in the Apple world. Once a year for a little while, you get some Apple-gasms, then it’s back to your boredom, so you troll here. Absolutely no other reason exists unless it’s that your nothing but a piece of sh*t retard. iPhoneys are for phony people and thats what you are.

Well from the looks of what it says above the processor is more than likely a dual core…. yet what speed is the question. Only reason I say its dual is because it can handle 1080p recording and from what I noticed… only dual core phones that aren’t modded offer 1080p recording.

But when a Ford owner goes on a Chevy website and makes derogatory comments, well, they get what they deserve. You do not post those kind of comments, thus you are excluded from said iphoneys. If you did post that stuff here, then I would be gone. And if all the carriers get the iPhone, then TmoNews can be a sort of middle ground as would all other “carrier” sites. However, a specific Android site shouldn’t have iPhone trolls anymore than iPhone sites should have Android trolls. And since Tmo doesn’t carry the iPhone (yet – if ever), then those comments are out of line.

I wonder if this will come pre-loaded with a movie, if it does which one do you think it will be?

Is it me or are they keeping the back a secret, because I’ve yet to see a clear shot of the back of the phone.

It does seem like T Mobile is hiding the back of it’s version.

The iPhone and IOS is just boring. It’s a good phone but theres no fun in it. Anybody can use an iPhone its super simple to use. Android is more “complex” and it makes it fun to play around with. Look at it this way: the iPhone is an automatic transmission, android is a manual transmission. It’s easy to drive an automatic car, but its not as fun as driving a manual car that let’s you control it.

Simply put comment.  But most of us are not tech geeks. I went to get my first ipod 5 years ago and opted instead for the competitor(cant even remember name) that was $50 maybe $100 cheaper.  Took it home and had trouble and frustration with it.  Brought it back the next day and got the ipod.  At first I didnt want to follow the herd.  But realized why sometimes the herd follows something.  Not just because its cool but because it works and is user friendly.
Apple makes things consumer driven.  They also have attained a place that competitors envy.
A god like reverance that is hard to take down.  And the price doesnt scare people.
The Apple Stores are not often crowded with excited people, they ALWAYS are…
I am looking forward to the iphone 5 release and may switch to ATT. The monthly plan compared to TMO deters me I admit.  But family members(ATT) always seem to have a signal when I dont.  I am getting less and less enthused with TMO.  The monthly price is right but little else

After clicking one of the links on the website (http://www.samsung.com/us/article/explore-the-galaxy-s-ii) it says that the Galaxy II uses the “immensely powerful C210 Dual Core processor” …this is a 1.2 Ghz Dual Core Processor…

It is not exynos or whatever you call it, 1.5 dual core. I know this from reliable source.

It would make sense that the T-mobile version would come with a 1.5, seeing as we won’t be getting the iphone 5. I’m excited for this phone because I love my galaxy s and it’s gorilla glass!

      • i heard the the iphone5 is going to be coming for tmobile and sprint. from what i understand from yahoo news that interviewed someone from Bloomberg, this is going to be the ultimate worldphone apparently its going to be both cdma and gsm for those who go to internation countries. so its been done before witht he palm trio why not the iphone 5. intriguing but want to know if it is going to be practicial in price

  • T-Mobile should have stayed with the 4.3″ screen.  4.52″ is slightly too large and is going to cause more unnecessary battery drain.

    • the battery life on this one is suppose to be really good because the infuse 4g has the same size screen and looking at the reviews from engadget and other sites the samoled+ saves more battery and the battery is slightly larger than the other galaxy s and other s2 models

but the only thing i want to know is the processor on this better not be a snapdragon dual core processor, because then i have no need to get this when i’m looking for something better than the sensation or my touch 4g slide.

  • Wow. I just checked the specs page, and its resolution is indeed just 480 x 800. That makes for an instant fail. I’ll stick with qHD resolution on the more manageable 4.3″ screen of my Sensation, which, now running a custom ROM and OC’d to 1.5 GHz (and, mind you, only ONE of the cores is OC’d to that speed because so far developers have been unable to reliably OC both cores on this unique asynchronous chip), has no lag and has already beaten the SGS2 in CF Bench.

    • haha ok

    • Ilyas_k15

Good for you, now stop talking

    • Jerrill

so you had to overclock your sensation to beat a stock sgs2? congratulations i guess. sensation does have a higher res screen but looks dull next to a super amoled + screen. and unless you have a magnifying glass and is really trying to find pixels on your screen, you’re never going to notice it. you can’t even compare these two. maybe the amaze 4g and the sgs2 might be better competition for each other.

    • Anonymous

benchmark test don’t mean nothing idiot. the sensation is a laggy POS, you can keep it with that sorry ass screen that it has. i’d take samoled over that black & white screen you got there. why you trolling here anyway.

    • Kenshiro

If your phone’s specs aren’t good enough for you stock, then it probably isn’t the phone for you. I think you OC’d your phone for the same reason people OC their PCs, so you could feel good about your decision to not wait and not having the best hardware out there.

You know what makes me feel good? A phone with a stock 1.5 GHz dual-core operating at consistently stable temps without making my phone hot and a warranty that isn’t voided.

      • JizzerWizard

WTF are you talking about Kenshiro?  OCing a phone for the same reason people OC their PCs – so they could feel good about their decision?  That’s the most ignorant thing I’ve ever heard.  People OC their computers to get better value for their money.  In this case.. a $200 cpu that can match or exceed a cpu that’s worth $900+.  Go read on your tech before you spew snuff out of your chipmunk.

Thank’s for the link but that’s the original Samsung Galaxy S2 . That’s not the US version nor is it T Mobiles version. The T Mobile version they never show the back of the phone. Iv’e seen AT&T’s back and Sprint’s back. A friend of mine went to the Samsung US launch event here in NYC and he said looking at the T Mobile version in the glass case it seems to have a brushed aluminum back. Very diffirent from all other models

Precisely, my friend, precisely. For me, it’s between these 2 devices as well. I am confident that GSII will take the cake, but I have a lot of faith in the Amaze as well. What I love the most about the Amaze is that the processor is clocked higher, and that it has physical buttons for both video and pics! Or at least just for pics, but still, and huge plus, the way I see it. Yet HTC’s camcorders really suck when it comes to audio, some of the worst quality sound I’ve ever heard. Well let’s just wait and see, I am really looking forward to these two devices beefing it out

Samsung great. but in compitition they should do much better than Apple because apple is doing much safer and much advanced things than any technology company.

apple’s job is to sue the world collect the $ and make a product then repeat.very advanced in thinking though.

Do you realize of all the companies, Apple has been the one with the MOST lawsuits against them for the past 10 years?  Everyone is protecting their own interests.  If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be in business.  Would you be happier if Apple didn’t defend themselves?

Aren’t the specs for the T-Mobile version on gsmarena.com?

    • Kenshiro

GSM Arena doesn’t know the specs of this phone, they just approximated the specs based on the AT&T and Sprint versions. If you look at the Samsung website, the T-Mobile version is the only one without mention of the CPU clock, which leads me to believe the T-Mobile version will have a faster dual-core, and this is some kind of damage control to avert less sales for the Sprint and AT&T versions.
