T-Mobile’s First 4G Mobile Hotspot Now Available

Sharing the spotlight with today’s launch of the $79.99 unlimited plan is the arrival of T-Mobile’s very first 4G Mobile Hotspot! We had a pretty good idea this was happening today and as our luck would have it, it did and we are happy to see T-Mobile join the ranks of the Mobile Hotspot offers.

T-Mobile’s 4G Mobile Hotspot will allow you to create a high-speed internet access point for up to 5 Wi-Fi devices. Calling this thing compact and portable would be putting it mildly, it’s pocket friendly and you can take it everywhere you go. Does it run on America’s largest 4G network? Well of course it does and it’s available now (did I mention that already) for $79.99 on a 2 year contract!

Can you get that with loyalty pricing? I wouldn’t mind paying a little extra for more data but $80 on top of the $160 I pay now would put me in my uncomfortable zone.

the price of the device is 79.99 not the service

Or you could buy one that works for 100 and get 14MD as opposed to 3M!

Nice offering, but if you’re already a customer you’re better off upgrading to a 4g phone with hotspot capability. Data pricing for the Mobile Hotspot:

    10GB for $85/mo
    5GB for $50/mo
    200MB for $30/mo

That’s not taking into account the 20% bundle discount for current customers though.

So what if your not a current customer?

This is nice, but I tether my Nexus S…

This would have have been nice replacement for Comcast, Qwest/CenturyLink here in St, paul, MN if not for the 5-10 GB limit. Once throttled it just won’t do for video.

If you combine it with a voice plan, 5GB of data is $40. Without a voice plan, it’s $50.
This is supposed to be a deal.
Except that the price of 5GB of data was always $40 for mobile broadband.
All they did was raise it $10, and add 10GB option.
