Blackberry “Monza” Coming End Of June To T-Mobile?

We’ve been hearing few a solid two months rumors that an all touchscreen Blackberry was headed in the T-Mobile direction. Most recently BGR reported one of their sources had recently seen a T-Mobile branded edition floating around. With Blackberry World coming up in the first week of May we suspect a T-Mobile announcement may be in the works.

Given that, we’ve received a little tidbit of information from our own ninjas pegging the release date of the Blackberry “Monza” to the T-Mobile world on June 29th. Of course June 29th might as well be a lifetime away in the wireless world so that date remains subject to change. However, given that a date is available internally we’re pretty convinced we’ll be seeing this on T-Mobile store shelves this summer.

    • Anonymous

Thank God the answer is no! :)

  • Long duck dong

It actually will run all android apps f.y.i. :P

  • Swaggaboystackz

Its gonna be wak if its not a 4G phone

  • Nexus Guy

    Nice…

  • Peteypablo12

I’ve actually seen it. I’m not a Blackberry guy but it will be a nice addition to the lineup.

  • Will

you have a lot of e-mails

  • Andrew

Looks like a horrible android rendition

  • MIKEEEEE

one thing i always liked about blackberry as opposed to ANDROID, it’s so damn easy to tweak the thing exactly the way you want it.

if it runs ANDROID apps it’s even better.

@christmas time they will show up on ebay at super prices, just in time to get your grandfather ducks lined up for the ATT mess.

    its using BB 6 :x

  • http://profiles.google.com/fsutep152 Salvatore Di Marco

All this talk regarding 4G blackberries… Remember guys – One huge plus with BB is their data management… BB use much less DATA than all other smartphones, which also means the higher speed isn’t as necessary because the content is scaled down/processed before it gets to your phone…

    • Pcj14

      Sal, please explain further.

      • Anonymous

BB runs data through their own servers and uses data compression so they use much much less data than other smartphones.

hmmm i might return my G2X and get this. 5 days on and I still think my old 9780 handles many things better: phyiscal camera button, emails emails emails, bbm, phone call voice quality, email reading and replying screens. The G2x also seems to run out of battery very quickly

    • http://profiles.google.com/superg05.jeremy Jeremy Washington

when examine my friends android phones who complain about battery life i usually long press(press and hold the screen) select widgets power control and put it on there desktop usually to find they had wifi Bluetooth and GPS on i show them and explain to them and there like oh…….. and then after that there phones battery last much longer

      • Anonymous

My G2X battery is insane. It lasts longer than any other smartphone I’ve ever used. I get 20 hours with minor to moderate and 8 hours with moderate to heavy. You really can’t ask for more. Some people get lemons. Every phone has it’s lemons. If you think your battery isn’t lasting as long as you like after you broke it in properly, then exchange the phone. Don’t just assume all G2X’s have bad batteries.

      • Anonymous

But my BB always has wifi, bluetooth and GPS on all the time and never has a battery issue.

        • Anonymous

Cause your Blackberry doesn’t have as much power as a Android. Blackberry’s don’t need the CPU/GPU power that Androids have. Last time I checked, there really wasn’t any games or apps that needed a significant amount of resources in the Blackberry app store.

Until BlackBerry uses their tablet OS on phones I might think about getting one. BlackBerry might be popular but people that knows Specs and Hardware knows to stay away from BlackBerry and Symbian at the moment.

    • Anonymous

but if i had to choose then blackberry over Symbian ANYDAY! for me
i still love my blackberry but its time for me to move on……..G2x or HTC Sensation …….. feel free to warm your spot up in my pocket and daily life!

  • Annacaligurl3

All I’m asking for is a blackberry with a front facing camera and hspa+ or Lte speeds is that too much to ask for? I know some people might argue with me that they don’t need a front facing camera. Well I do because I think it would be nice to be able to make video calls to My friends or family without having to take out my laptop, if t-mobile or any other company took a bb with one I wud totally dump my old bb bold 9700 and get the new blackberry.

    • Pcj14

I totally agree with you. thats why im dumping my 8520 and getting the G2X.

You’ll never use it. My friends with iPhones NEVER, I repeat, NEVER use this feature. This feature is just another way for an apple user to look like a total dickhead in an airport.First carrying a ridiculously large tablet, next holding your phone in front of you face to talk into it.

You will never never never use this (after one or two times).

      • http://twitter.com/mrmiddl75 david middlebrooks

fyi, iphone video chat can only be used with wi-fi, and you are mistaken again in thinking no one will use video chat. I use my video chat on my galaxy all the time. sometimes i need an extra pair of eyes when im stuck on an issue at a customers site, or just to talk with my wife and kids when im on the road. and if im looking like a dickhead because of that, then so be it.

      • Do

I use Tango video chat all the time

  • Gabrieletejada

going to get that cell phone

  • Anonymous

Blackberry Smartphones cannot use Android apps. Only there tablet can use Android apps optimized for tablets. In my opinion, this phone is to little to late. I have already moved on to Android and it fits my business and personal needs. I can also have a lot of fun with my Android device and I could only have a tiny bit of fun with my Blackberry.

  • Santrontavar

i want the bold touch! whatever network that phone goes to im switching… hopefully its Verizon as that’s what the wife has.

    • J-Hop2o6

Tmo is getting that also this summer.

Please bring it with 4G, I so wish they had added a front facing cam!

One thing that I learned from owning the BB Storm, is that Blackberry and Touchscreens don’t go hand in hand. I will need to see this phone in person to see if it is good, but I would rather go with a Blackberry 9780

    • hy

not sure if you’ve installed OS6 on the storm, but i have a 9780 with OS6 and all the time I wish I could touch the screen. Non BB users who’ve used my 9780 also attempted to touch the screen to operate the menus all the time. In my humble opinion, OS6 was designed for the touch screen BB, namely the 9800 Torch. I had a Torch briefly and I thought it was brilliant. I would’ve got a 9800 if it was out on T-Mobile.

      • Pistoneb

        Blackberry is horrible

  • Anonymous

i really hope this does well, they need help.

  • SirWilliam

I havent used the newest blackberry OS but I’ve had two blackberries, I had a storm which I actually liked for awhile, then I had a bold which I also liked. They were just so complicated. BB has way too many menus. Ive also had 2 iPhones, I love them. My mom has an android I dislike how unorganized android is. With iPhone you have the app store and cydia(jailbroke) android marketplace sucks last time I used it. I’ve always used my phones on tmo though! Long live tmobile!

I think the specs are just find I wish it had a front facing camera though but thats it really I mean duel core is all hype right now just like the first iPhone ill make the jump when they iron out the battery problems etc But front facing camera isnt a huge issue fro me because if I make the switch back to blackberry ill be getting the playbook as well

      • Terry
