Motorola Morrison Hits FCC, Motorola Lives Another Day

Oh, all powerful FCC, what have you bestowed upon us today?  It seems like the Federal Communications Commission has outed an upcoming T-Mobile phone in its own special way!  Some people [s]with way too much time on their hands who know what they are doing have dug up the FCC report of the Motorola Morrison.  The Morrison has everything you would expect from an Android Phone ( you know, talking phone, speaker phone, camera, video, video player, music player, bluetooth, text messaging, html browsing, Android OS; you know, the works!) plus a little extra.  Deep inside the report uncovers that this special slider has 3G, Wifi, and apparently (wait for it….) UMA support.  Isn’t that a nifty set of features.  It seems like this phone has grown up a bit since the early pictures from a month ago.

It’s about time Motorola has come up with something. How have they managed to survive? They haven’t put out a new for for TMo for quite some time.

  • poochilau1

Now that people know it supports UMA some are going to be pretty peeved that they ordered the my touch. imo

  • Dan

Is this not justa TMO version of the Rival at Verizon

  • Bobomo

I know I’m in the minority, but I like how it looks. I hope they offer something other than electric blue, but with the slider closed it will look like a nice touch screen phone. And with T-Mo going full blast with MyTouch, this might be the only QWERTY Android phone we see this year.

  • bingbang

Excuse my ignorance, but what is UMA? My knowledge goes to a certain extent, haha. And I can tell that UMA seems important because I’ve read other articles on tmonews about phones not supporting UMA…?

    Thanks.

Does anyone have any idea when this phone is coming out?

  • ImaTmoFan

Oh I can’t wait. Everything I want in a phone, slide-out Qwerty, Android, 3G and UMA
I hope these are definitely the features. Dont let me down, TMO!

  • Dro

Damn I was hoping TMO would put out another android keyboard by the end of the year, just not one so friggin ugly

  • TomCruise

looks good, just hope they lose the blue color and it has a good fast processor.

  • rudy

uma sounds cool, wonder if thnis or the big foot will comeout first.

  • Robert_x24x

This phone is pretty sweet lookin’ and all, but it’s not as awesome lookin’ as the apparent “Shole” from Motorola that Verizon is getting. I wish T-Mo was gettin’ that one. Check it out.

  • mikeeeee

    dis is da one.

UMA with a keyboard and android.

just in time for my upgrade.

i still don’t understand why crackberries have UMA and androids don’t.

  • SEFan

Ackk!! Definitely not aimed at the professional market with that look. Too bad – the specs are impressive.

  • SEFan

Specs are appealing, but that look doesn’t say “professional” to me. Keep looking…

  • ala

the blue might not be for everyone but i think it looks good. i’m sure a black option would make the rest happy. looks like an ipod with a slide-out qwerty.

beats the verizon phone that motorola made. http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/4/2009/07/504x_motofono.jpg

The last one was the Zine ZN5…I believe. But yes, it is definitely good news on their part!

  • Bobomo

UMA is support for T-Mobile’s HotSpot@Home deal. Basically if the phone has wi-fi, you can get a special wireless access point from TMo to hook up to your home broadband and make free calls through the internet.

  • Bobomo

… and free calls through other T-Mo hotspots, like the ones at Starbucks.

  • ala

it also can use your wifi SIGNAL instead of the cell tower one… meaning if you have crappy reception at work, school, or home, this can REALLY be a lifesaver :)

  • Bobomo

According to the leaked “roadmap”, Holiday 2009.

  • James

Didn’t the MT3G pass the FCC with UMA and 5MP cam? those didn’t make it to the device.

  • Vendetta238

I heard that 3G and UMA would not be on the same phone from tmo so if this is released with 3G and UMA it will be the first one. Nothing to do with android as an OS.

  • FILA

until the G1v2 comes out this fall

  • FILA

T-mobile dont own them hot spots no more, where you been at man. Thats ATT’s turf now, has been for about 2 years
