CINCINNATI!!! BOUT TIME
Buffalo is finally on one of these leaked lists! Can’t wait!
hmm well…. as I right this I am getting 3G in Henderson NV…. only getting between 2 and 3 bars but its better than the previous 2 that I would get (because I am so close to Las Vegas) that would always seem to switch from 2 bars to full edge then back and forth…. which seemed to drain my battery quickly. I did drop to edge once while writing this but only once…. normally its every 30 secs. Lets hope they are still improving… great start though and better than no 3G at all.
Well if some of you crying knew ur stuff, ud know that the government has to jump off of the certain bands in the new area to get it started in that area. So you might have the equipment installed New Orleans, but u have to wait til the government gets off of the bands there before ur graced with 3G. Don’t blame tmo, blame the government
Edge is great for me here in Rochester Ny, can’t wait to see how 3g is. Touch Pro 2 or Driftwood, hard decesion.
Carolinas probably should be somewhere on this list. There are cities left off. I’m not sure why. It could be because the cities aren’t expected to be completed until after 4th quarter. That does not mean they won’t launch before then. A city can launch as long as they have a big enough footprint to warrant the launch. It just may take a couple more months to expand the coverage or fill in the gaps.
Does anyone know how far 3G reaches into the suburbs of these cities? I live in Concord, NH about 8 miles outside of Manchester, NH which gets 3G in the 2Q. Do you think it will reach?
Richmond, Va about got d@mn time, I’m tired in drive on I95 and as soon as i get to northern Va i got 3G all the way to nYc but none in capital of Virginia
This is great to see…been really debating whether to leave for ATT to get the 3G coverage. Anyone have information on 3G possibly coming to Gainesville, FL? Can’t believe they would leave off a huge college down and yet bring it to Cape Coral, FL.
T-mobile owned store in Covington, LA says New Orleans will get 3g Sept 15th.
i live in montgomery,al but i;m from jackson,ms how the H3LL dont they have 3g!!!!!!
I see that the list says “Lake Charles, TX.”
Lake Charles is in Louisiana, not Texas.
Finally for the Indy area! Can’t wait to use it with the TP2!
@Anthony
You’ll probably get it under the Oceanside/Escondido rollout. Its weird how t-mobile rolls it out to certain areas but list some of the smaller cities when they announce them. Like Moreno Valley, which isn’t that big of a city but will probably cover Sun City and all the bordering towns.
Gainesville, FL is part of the Jacksonville market. I’m not sure if it will launch at the same time as the core of Jacksonville. If not, it won’t be too far behind.
That Make My Day My City Is On That List (Columbus,GA) I Cant Wait Till I See That 3G Symbol On My Phone !
FILA says:
Q1: Jan, Feb, March
Q2: April, May, June
Q3: July, Aug, Sept
Q4: Oct, Nov, Dec
Good job FILA, at least you know your math. Your special education teacher will be proud of you, and don’t forget the short buses are parked in the back until further notice.
Tmo rolling out 3G in PA is good and all BUT I was driving in the Poconos and BOY do they need more COVERAGE. Edge is sparse. I often was on G… WTF? G? it’s like a freakin fax modem. Just saying… 3G is cool but maybe they need to improve in the coverage area first (atleast when it comes to certain more rural areas).
Wow, still no chattanooga tn. Un friggin believable. I bought this phone specifically to use 3g…sprint, verizon, at&t all have 3g here already. Tmobile’s customer support center is here as well and still no 3g??
I just got off the phone (611 level 3) and New Orleans will NOT see 3G until AFTER Christmas 09! (Sometime early 2010). Previous LIARS @ 611 said June or July 09! Yet, 3G in Shreveport, LA already? That’s like having 3G on an abandoned burned out oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico….per ca-pita wise! I guess, let’s put a 3G setup 1st and foremost on the “Bridge to Nowhere” in Alaska! That way the 6 or 8 commuters a day can have 3G access while driving across a bridge that should not have been built. Naaa, don’t put a darn thing in New Orleans, an area where twisted pair land lines can’t be replaced in many areas even after 4 years.
rocheste? st cloud? not minneapolis or st paul. wtf?
The twin cities are already 3G
I should admin that.. Minneapolis is 3G, and has been since late last summer.
Cross Wichita Falls, TX off the list of no 3G, we just got 3G this morning.
Should Des Moines be IA instead of ID?
what the hell. what about new orleans
Yay for 3G in Wichita Falls! It’s about time!!
Hmm… About half of Mesa, AZ by area or 70% by population has 3G already. Ignoring a chunk to the east that shows it on the map but it is not actually there, and another chunk southeast that is on the map but it really isn’ there either. As in if it is installed, it’s not turned on, but more likely it isn’t even installed. Which hasn’t changed since Q4 2008. Since this is pretty much the end of Q2, I’m thinking this is catch-up or fictional. Scottsdale is pretty much covered already since Q4 2009. Peoria is also solidly lit up, like the map says already. So is this just someone’s blind guesses, or a list of fixes/fill-ins/completions? Glad I don’t live in Maine any more, there is NO 3G there, nothing north of Haverhill MA. ick.
WTF no NEW ORLEANS!!! How much longer do we have to wait!!! Im gonna be switching soon if I have to wait to 2010 to get 3g!!!
@rick928 – Your such an idiot,Q2(apr,may,june)is not almost over. There is more than a month left plenty of time to cover the needed cities with 3g.
Yes 3G is finally coming to athens. I have a 3G phone now for the network!
Who cares where 3g is available. When T-Mobile gets a 3g Blackberry…then maybe there will be something to be excited about.
What about Hickory NC and Asheville NC?
Well when do they plan on giving Springfield, missouri 3g??? This is fuck** up!!!!
ha springfield mo? that place is whack
GreenEyedBandit tmo rep, I’ll be watching. Notice I was pointing out that large areas of coverage that are at this very moment showing as 3G are in fact *NOT* receiving 3G, and have not since Q4 2008.
To put it another way, it’s been about 6 months since I was supposed to be receiving 3G at my home, and it still doesn’t work. And large chunks as well. Even the 101 Pima Freeway from the 202 up to McDonald are without 3G, much of which was working in March 09.
Perhaps you’d like to open another ticket to Engineering for me? It would be my third. I’m waiting for the Q2 rollout to complete before I bother again, since CS has so far been unable to get the problem resolved or even follow through with a ticket.
Not intended as an insult, just a statement of fact. Around the middle of July I may start whining again, but again, I’m waiting by then over 8 months for coverage TMO says I should have NOW.
Admit it. The maps are not perfect. Or the network isn’t perfect.
Wtf is really good! Am I gonna have to move to use my G1. I live in New Orleans now and I’m sick of waiting for 3g service. If one more Iphone user tells me how much better that peace of crap is cause of 3g I may stangle someone. Tmobile……get on your A – game! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
Where’s NJ?????
NY State CAPITAL Albany doesn’t get 3G but BUFFALO, Rochester & Syracuse DO get it??? Albany’s getting screwed w/our pants on. Must be payback for having all the State Workers & Elected Officials housed here. Buy the G1 on the promise 3G is coming & sit for MORE that half your contract without the STATE CAPITAL even being mentioned. T-mo, you boned us.
In Michigan just about 50 miles north of Detroit and still no Tmo 3g yet. 3G is in downtown Detroit and most of the suburbs within a 20 mile radius of the city. I have had my G1 since day 1 and have 3g when I travel in many cities. I’m still tired of ATT having a larger 3g network by far. Although after a recent trip to Vegas I noticed that it sucks my battery life like no tomorrow. I was constantly looking for a charger literally charging my phone 2-3 times a day just to keep up with my normal usage. G1 needs to do something about 3g battery life!
WTF! Shreveport, but no New Orleans, what kind of fuckery is this?
Tired of waiting for 3G in Jax, FL. Already shopping AT&T. Bought G1 when it first came out. Feel like I was raped. FU T-Mobile, I hope you go bankrupt!!!!
Where is 3G in New York’s Capital Region????? Buffalo is getting it… what about the freaking capital???
We got ours in Wichita Falls, Texas 1 June. Earlier reports said it would be end of April, but we have it now.
Buffalo FTW. Been waiting on this. Hope it comes true
Okay Mark B. and Colin Small, I have to tell you something. Albany is the capitol of New York, not the “capital”. I’m sorry, but especially when you CAPS the word it only makes me laugh harder. All of that aside, I do hope you get some 3G fun soon.
I got my cupcake on the first and had to safe mode master reset, and when my G1 came back on with the default setting to search for 3G I had it. I live in Lawrence KS and would have had no idea if I didn’t have to reset my phone. The local 3rd party dealer said they flipped it on at the end of May! The coverage dosnt even show up on the coverage map. I am happy, but why would a small market college town get it before a larger market?
@dehof Sorry to tell you this, but Albany is indeed the capital, not the “capitol”, of New York. It’s okay to try and correct someone, but when you try and make the person feel dumb, when you yourself are providing a wrong answer, you just look like an even bigger bigot.
WOOOOO HOOOOO! Beaumont TX is live and 3G is awesome I’m getting 360kbps the lowest so far is 267kbps and my G1 is in love with speed.
Woke-up this morning with 3G in Salem, Oregon. Woohoo!!!
Unfortunately, I seem to be between two towers, one 3G and the other EDGE, my phone keeps switching back and forth.
