HTC Rhodium Hits The FCC!

rhodium2

Those waiting for a much delayed update to the Wing, can start salivating a little more now. The Rhodium aka Touchpro2 just hit the FCC according to the fine folks over at Engadget. Not much info comes in way of the FCC report, and unless you are really interested in looking at pictures of radioactive levels, don’t bother hitting the FCC link that will follow this article. Either way, with the codename RHOD100 out in the wild now, feel free to peruse the FCC database as often as you might like to find more information!

    pls dont copy-paste!

That phone does NOT include UMTS Band IV. (TMO AWS)
In fact, it doesn’t include UMTS Band II either. (ATT)

Unless something in that report is wrong, that phone only supports UMTS Band I (EU) and UMTS Band VIII (ASIA).

This one doesn’t have T-Mobile 3G or AWS… so it can’t be the one heading for T-Mobile but must be an unlocked version or a version headed for AT&T.

    @Jon
Actually the EU uses 2100 not 1900 for UMTS. While AT&T uses 850 and 1900… so this is AT&T 3G

    so close yet so far

They list 2 phone NM8RHOD100 and NM8RHOD210. The only one they tested was the RHOD100. What about the RHOD210?

  • iFloss

Im so happy. This phone better be some hot shit seriously. If we get no Rhodium by June then im leaving for sprint and fxck you t-mobile! x_x
No seriously though this is my Jesus phone for t-mobile.
No Rhodium no more customer. And t-mobile needs to step it up fast because i know of around 15 people who are leaving t-mobile because their phones take too long to be released and their service isn’t even that kick ass compared to others.
I hope this thing takes 7.2mbps HSDPA i wont die if it doesnt but if it does ima be that much happier.

Emiliano, where do you see 2 models listed? All I said is the RHOD100. Though, it is interesting, because the leaked T-Mobile ROM is listed as RHOD21000.

  • B

    Ah, nevermind, I see it

    @startBlue

UMTS Band I (2100) uses the 1900 frequencies to upload. Just read the report.
    “WCDMA/HSUPA/HSDPA
    Band I 1922.4MHz – 1977.6MHz
    WCDMA/HSUPA/HSDPA
    Band VIII 880.4MHz – 914.6MHz”

Those frequencies match UMTS Band I and VIII here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands
Band I UL Frequencies UE transmit (MHz): 1920 – 1980
Band VIII UL Frequencies UE transmit (MHz): 880 – 915

    So, again:
That phone does NOT include UMTS Band IV. (TMO AWS)
In fact, it doesn’t include UMTS Band II either. (ATT)

Unless something in that report is wrong, that phone only supports UMTS Band I (EU) and UMTS Band VIII (ASIA).

That report for the Rhodium is for an Asian phone.

  • sino8r

Umm.. why would the fcc need to approve an asian or european phone?!
    This obviously for at&t…

  • alt-mobile

hmmm there is a lot of technological jargon going on…

  • t1 connect

The Wing has been $199.99 after a 2yr plan for a few days now, coincidance?-Don’t think so.

  • RS

wow, this phone is clearly not coming to Tmobile USA. Maybe european or whatever but not the US.

  • no name

This is no surprise the wing hasnt sold in months and most stores have been sold out for a while. this phone has been discontinued for about 5 months now and the price was just lowered as of the 1st of April just to get rid of them. Prices go down like this when only a few stores have them and phone is just not moving at all.

Most new HTC devices will be out by q3 and q4

  • RS

i went back and saw the date on the article April 1, this is a joke right?
