T-Mobile LG V30 update now rolling out with August 2018 security patches

LG V30 owners, a new update is coming your way.

T-Mobile is now updating its LG V30 to version H93220k. The update is now rolling out over the air, and TmoNews reader Red received it on their V30 today. Included are the August 1, 2018 Android security patches. T-Mo hasn’t updated its LG V30 support page as of this post, so it’s unclear what other tweaks might be included.

If you’ve got an LG V30, you can manually check for this update by going into Settings > About phone > Update Center > System updates > Check for update. Alternately, you can wait for the OTA up to come to you, which should happen in the coming days.

Thanks, Red!

System seems to be a bit snappier, but that could well be psychosomatic :-D

Will Chromecast support work properly? Love the phone but using it with a Chromecast is terrible .

Has T-Mobile or LG ever said whether the V30 will get Pie or not?

Not relevant to me. This LGv30 will be my first and last LG device, and for that matter the last time Tmobile milks me for a phone monthly. Tmobile broke my trust when they decided to make the lgv30 a non rootable device. I will give my money gladly to someone that wants it for a rootable device (international device). That on top of the crappy way tmobile has supported its own customers with LG as a device maker, shameful to say the least. I have a brand new tablet LGv530 I bought with my LGv30. It still has apr 2017 as the last update! Un freaking real! Screw you Tmobile.

This link kinda sums up everything I’ve heard so far. I want to say there was something on one of LG’s pages, but can’t remember where I saw that. Anyway… link: https://www.theandroidsoul.com/lg-v30-update/
