No thanks, I’ll stick with my 1st-gen iPad Air which I got during that Wifi-only pricing discount back in April. Too few reasons to upgrade here…

      Same here

wish I had jumped on that deal maybe next year they’ll put it up again.

I’ll probably stick with my 1st-gen Air, too. Although IF there is 2 GB of RAM onboard the Air 2, upgrading may have to happen. I’ll admit that Safari on the Air sucks because of the constant page reloads every time you switch tabs.

Question for those of you who jumped on the Wi-Fi iPad pricing deal this past spring: did your EIP start showing up yet? I checked my agreement and it said that it would start showing up on my bill in June, but I haven’t seen it yet. It also doesn’t show up under my EIP agreements on MyTmobile. Anyone else have this issue?

Did you buy in store or online?

        • trife

          Online.

Well check with a store rep to see if the EIP is on your account… if not, congrats on your free iPad!

I just bought an iPad mini 2 at $100 discount. It’s discounted to make room for the iPad 3 and the only meaningful difference between the 2 models is the finger print reader. I will pair the iPad with my T-Mobile LTE hotspot and I feel like I came out ahead. Should I be patting myself on the back? Sure I would have liked a cellular iPad model but I feel the hotspot gives me added flexibility for less.

FYI: You can buy an Apple Refurbished iPad Mini 2 with Cellular right from Apple’s web site. They are as good as new, and come with the same Apple warranty. Even though they are listed as AT&T models, they are unlocked and support the same bands. My T-Mobile SIM works just fine (including LTE).

      16GB is $349, 32GB is $399, 64GB is $449, 128GB is $539.

You mean like EVERYTHING? I have a 128 ATT Space Gray Air and am getting a 128 Apple SIM Space Gray Air 2 as soon as the first plane lands from China. All specs are new and improved. Plus they’re $100 cheaper than last year. For anyone to think there are “too few reasons to upgrade” from Air to Air 2 isn’t paying attention.

Wow, you sound like a douchee bag… Thanks for you ¢2.

Dave, please refrain from making disparaging comments while representing yourself as someone remotely affiliated with T-Mobile. Each person is entitled to their opinion and we respect their right to voice themselves. FutureMedia was expressing that he is excited to upgrade his current device to a newer device and we support them in their choice. We apologize if this comment we viewed as abusive in any manner.

Given the lack of comments on this particular article, it is safe to assume that iPad pre-orders will NOT be crashing the T-Mobile ordering system (unlike how the ordering system was crushed by the horde of customers trying to pre-order the iPhone 6 and 6+).

The pre-order is finally open… confirmed that only 16GB models are available. There’s three shipping options ranging from UPS Ground delivery by 10/31 to Expedited Next Day which claims it will be delivered by 10/23 (tomorrow). We’ll see what happens!
