Google Play Updated To Version 3.5.19, Who Can Find Something New?

Google has pushed out a new version of their Play Store to devices as of yesterday updating the store to version number 3.5.19. No word yet on any changes and no changelog has been made available. Early reports indicate a slightly faster experience while searching in the store, but we’re not sure if that’s the placebo effect or a reality. You can grab the .apk below and install via your desktop or wait for the push notification from Google directly.

If you spot any differences, let us know in the comments.

It seems quite a bit faster for me, I can’t really see any new functionality to speak of…

I installed it on my Sensation and it turned it into a unicorn.

      No, that’s a quadricorn.

Play Store would crash when I clicked on “99 Cent Movie Collection” yesterday but it is working today. Otherwise, I can’t tell a difference.

Seems a little faster, I read this before i downloaded it which could present bias. However, I do believe that because I went and used the prior version, then downloaded the new version and ran it again. It seemed a little faster, but I can’t really account for cached files and such. T-Mobile’s 4G in NYC is almost too fast to tell the difference if there is one though.

I was having issues purchasing items on there yesterday with my CC and trying to bill to my TMO account so maybe it’s a fix..

  • h_f_m

It has 0.0.03 more awesome.. pretty obvious..

How can I jump back to the previous version?

    • Blkbear

Hopefully you do backups before installing updates, if so, all you need to do is restore your last backup for the play store. If not, find someone that still have the 3.5.16.apk and download that to you phone or computer and install from there.

Doesn’t default to play links anymore

Definitely feels snappier on my mytouch4G

Same here… for me the MyTouch 4G is an already fast phone.. the newer phones look great but too big of a screen.. i love the 3.8 inch screen.. it’s a perfect size

You said “install via your desktop. ” I used my phone to download and install the apk directly. This is android, not ios. ANDROID reserves me the right to not be dependent upon a desktop :)

Definitely faster and more responsive with update. Wish there was an update like this for the fb app

I think that it’s just meant to fix a few bugs and to make it a little faster. I don’t think that it really adds any new features to it.

Well, I was trying to restore my android phone and the new Play Store updates after about 4 apps are restored and totally cancels the restore! Infinite loop. I don’t know how to prevent the auto install of Play update to stop interfering with restore. Nice

The reviews tell you whether it was for the current or older version of the app

  • Mandroid

Here’s a noticeable difference: if you install as a widget, now you get dynamic app ads, and they are large. Wouldn’t call that in improvement, but definitely a change.
