As long as he doesn’t speak about anything marketing related, I think it should be a good address.  He probably knows a lot about wireless companies & the wireless market, but he sure doesn’t know how to market T-mobile!  Was there even any commercials or a big publicity push for that huge sale on Saturday?  I didn’t see anything on it (except here).

I saw a commercial related to the sale.  For that matter their Value Plan commercials are what got me to start the process of switching to Tmo.

maybe he will announce that existing long time customers can change their plan to VALUE PLAN without $200 fee per line  $1000 for  family lines of 5?

    • Buttons

It would be better to pay the $200 cancel fee per line and start from scratch!

Consumers want the iPhone even if the most hardcore Android or WP7 users pretend to hate it on the internet.  We aren’t getting it.  I stuck with T-Mobile USA for years hoping they’d get it.

T-Mobile management is incompetent and I’m glad they’ll soon be replaced.

    • Fate_

I think you should leave to another carrier for the iPhone. iPhones ruin networks for the consumers as it slows down bandwidth and cause congestion.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=710725095 Jason Crumbley

How does it slow down bandwidth and cause congestion? That’s a myth caused by At&t’s crap network. I don’t see Verizon’s network having any problem with it.

        • BigMixxx

There are a LOT of iPhones and a LOT of other data devices on AT&T’s network.  Verizon has a LARGER data network, while MUCH slower, their tower density is much higher than what AT&T’s is.

        • Fate_

You can’t talk and text or talk and surf at the same time with the iPhone on Verizon’s network. Once LTE is deployed and iPhone supports LTE, Verizon’s network will be congested too. If you don’t believe me, why did they cap your data on VZN & AT&T?

Consumers who want iPhones already have them so it’s really no big deal that T-Mobile won’t get them. To say that the iPhone will make or break a provider is not a very smart way to go.

Part of the reason I’m with T-Mobile is that they DON’T carry the iPhone. iPhone users are complete bandwidth hogs, the entire lot of them–they hop on just to hop on and EVERYTHING requires data usage.

Maybe he’ll explain why my “4G” is so slow and when they will actually speed it up.

    • David

Because T-Mobile is not a real 4G it is improvd version of 3G. Simple as that!

      • BigMixxx

and I guess LTE and WiMAX is? ‘Don’t believe the hype’ -public enemy. (yeah I said it)

Seems like CDMA carriers are really focused on getting GSM technology on their networks….
They are really just catching up to the other carriers….

        • n900mixalot

Man, I just got an Evo View 4G and I have NO IDEA what Sprint means by 3G. I get like 112kbps!!! What the EFF?!

I enjoy T-Mobile’s version of 4G as it is, it’s a great speed without extreme battery burn, and with decent coverage.

Verizon’s LTE is no joke though.

        • BigMixxx

yeah, I’m really disappointed in Sprint right now….

I’ve played with one of Verizon’s data cards for work….NO JOKE FOR REAL.

      • Anonymous

about 2-3 meg on avg in a full 4G area in KC.

  • Meagan

I agree, just because you have a 4G symbol at the top of your Tmobile mobile screen, don’t expect to get 4G speeds. That 4G symbol is merely for show, and to indicate you are connected to what is named a 4G signal, or 4th Generation of technology.

I hope Tmobile fixes their 4G speeds in Los Angeles.

I get 6-9 Mbps in Los Angeles routinely, great coverage. You may have a problem with your device, get that checked out.

Same, coverage in LA is great

    • T-Mobile Fans

T-Mobile offer the fastest 4G speed in nation.  but, even tho they have 4G speed, you still need to have 4G phone in order to recieve the speed.  if you are usin 3G or 2G.  LOL…of cause speed sucks.  Same as Verizon, AT&T & Sprint.  as right now, only carrier can complet with T-Mobile HSPA+ speed are Verizon.  AT&T just begin to roll out them 4G.  Sprint on other hand,  haha…had most worst speed ever.  so, there still thousand of thousand people who like T-Mobile.  if you don’t like T-Mobile.  then go with others.  but, i can tell you that, as soon as you see AT&T combin with T-Mobile.  next thing you know, Verizon goin to start taking Sprint.  if Sprint doesn’t allow them.  both AT&T & Verizon will force Sprint to CLOSE DOOR.  so, which mean, as consumer we have to pay high price for cell phone services in the near future.  as right now, don’t matter which carrier you with.  you want to hope the thing don’t happen.  cause, its goin to hurt our pocket very bad.  if anyone have time to do some research…for past 12 years T-Mobile been in the state.  They are the company been gave us the lowest rate.  because, the lowest rate they offer to keep the AT&T,Verizon & Sprint on hook.  so, as soon as this lowest rate player been remove by us (as consumer).  this is going to hurt our most empty pocket even more.

75% of devices sold this year are smartphones and 90% of those sold were Android devices.

    What a Joke!

When 90% of your smartphones you offer is Android crap then what other choice people have other than get Android if they want smartphone.

If customers want something else you don’t offer that much. How baout T-Mobile offer more of other smartphones and then come and say these nonsense numbers.

So how about not sleep with Google too much and offer other platforms and better devices as well.

    • n900mixalot

Well, their network already supports two different WP7 devices, several Nokia devices (N9, N900, E7 or whatever E they’re on now), iPhones without 3G, and whatever other GSM devices people can get their hands on.

T-Mobile has no problem allowing people to bring their own GSM phones, tethering and all, with practically no questions asked.

If you mean their subsidized smartphone offering is lacking, then perhaps it is, but if people are only willing to consider iOS, WP7, and Android as smartphone platforms, then there really isn’t much choice in the first place.

If they offer more Windows Phone devices and Blackerry and etc. then yes you are right.

But they really don’t offer that much of other platforms devices. Their Windows Phone devices is not as good as AT&T and same for Blackberry as well not as good as other carriers.

If they carry same amount of devices for all paltforms then you will see 90% will not get Android. But in T-Mobile customers has no choice really other than getting Android.

They don’t even advertise and do fair business in their stores for Windows Phone. So I agree with David. But you had some valid pijts too.

  • LowDrag

Oh gee how right you are. att + tmo is good for users.  Except it seems like economists and consumers tend to disagree with this as utter nonsense.

What me worry ?   Um completely.

  • JT

It seems to me that most of the comments I read are regarding how bad tmobile is.. slow network… crappy phones…no iphone which he stated tmobile wants but apple hasn’t made it available to tmobile yet…android sucks, etc.  We live in America where you have freedom of choice.  Why do most of you waste your time to bitch and complain about how bad tmobile is.  Go to sprint, verizon or the many other carriers that are out there.  As many carriers that are in the marketplace I’m sure you can find someone to fit your needs.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-Matthews/100000189923615 James Matthews

Except when you are under contract it would cost you a small fortune to get out of it.  So, if you don’t mind since I’m stuck with T-Mobile for the time being I’ll bitch, moan and at times even praise them as much as I damn well please. :)

      • Tbyrne

Great! At least true T-Mobile fans know we have less than 2 years to be rid of you! I’m sorry you’re STUCK with T-Mobile. Just hang in there. Maybe someone here will chip in the ETF so you can head on over to Dan, Ivan or Randall. Good luck!
