T-Mobile Calls For “All Hands Day” For September 24th

Details are sketchy at best but we’ve just received a huge number of emails indicating that T-Mobile has called an “All Hands Day” meeting for September 24th for unknown reasons. Could this be a pre-iPhone launch meeting? Could this be related to the AT&T takeover or could this be related to T-Mobile discovering water on Mars? In any case, mark your calendars down for September 24th because something is going down.

I think that is the day for the Carly tour.  Buy a phone & service and you get a wink and a blown kiss from Carly.  Start a family plan and you get a hug.  Add a line and you get a kiss.  Start 5 lines with unlimited everything, plus handset protection, plus 5 tablets with additional data plans and you get…..

Hmm sounds more like that back to school sale/release date for the SGSII and HTC Amaze 4G

  • Xyc

They will probably run a sale. Apple is comming out with a new iPhone on att verizon and sprint. Tmobile will to do something to prevent it’s customers from
Jumping out of it’s train . They call it the “iPhone effect”.

    • Government Fromage

This is what I’m thinking too. Probably some kind of big discount on Android phones before the iPhone5 is released. “We’ll sell you these reaaalllly cheap if you promise not to leave us!”

      • guest2

Doesn’t work.  “Loyal” customers can be given cheap phones many times, and given the cheapest plans available without sacrificing service and they will still leave at the drop of the hat.  There are only a tiny percentage of loyal customers in the industry these days and the funny thing is that they ask for very little

    • Turbo2150

Not sure why the hell people love the iPhone so much… I have an iPhone 4 and have had a 3gs and yeah they are nice phones, but Android STOMPS iPhone… My iPhone 4 is sitting in a drawer collecting dust. I’ll be selling it soon, hopefully before the iPhone 5 comes out. Just not sure what the big deal is…

Have to totally agree with you. I am an Android user and do IT support work for a living. Had to help an older lady who had purchased an iPhone4 the other day. I will avow that I’m not an iPhone expert but she would ask the simplest questions and I had to search and do trial and error just to find the answers. The interface was clunky and very NON-intuitive. The browser was the worst I’ve ever used. I felt like I was in the app drawer the whole time. It was very non-impressive. And as for the so called “smooth” performance that I’ve heard about? My Android is worlds ahead of this phone. Maybe the iPhone5 will be better. I will say one thing though, Apple marketing has created this popularity, not the phone itself. At least with comparing a new up to date Android phone vs the iPhone4. However, I will state that I wish the iPhone would come to Tmo. I do think we’d have a BIG amount of ATT customers coming over to us and it would stabilize Tmo. But as far as being impressed with it, NOT!

What is Firestarter? i think it is the SGII and HTC Ruby. I kind of doubt the T-mobile will just sell the iPhone out of the blue without a press release like a month before and a pre-order sale so i guess will see

Good timing. My contract is over on the 22nd, and I’m planning to move to AT&T or Verizon on Saturday the 24th. Maybe I’ll be able to play the “Well T-Mobile has xxx phone for $xxx. Beat that!” tactic.

It was an equally dumb reply and an intentional one to someone who doesn’t respect that other people feel that one technology isn’t the best solution for everyone. Why you would lose respect is something I don’t understand I apologize if you misunderstood my intent. It’s funny that your comment is directed toward me while completely ignoring what is that I responded to.

All hands? they only have like a few hundred pairs left, LOL. 12 months ago it’d probably just been a normal day SUPER LOL

  • TMO INSIDER

If you ask me, this sounds like a promotion for mobile broadband. If you notice the first line: “To make the latest wireless internet services accessible and even more affordable for everyone…”

It will probably be a year free of 2GB mobile broadband or something to that effect.

If anyone here has worked for T-mobile, theyd obviously know that all hands is just like a firestarter store meeting for your whole market (8-14 stores in your area) Everybody travels to a central location between the stores(i.e. hotel/conference center) Its always on a Sunday because thats the only day EVERYONE can be at a meeting together at a reasonable hour.  And they give awards to reps/stores as well as announce whats up and coming when it comes to plans, stores, holiday season etc..

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1586820069 steadymobb

This is on a Sat. not Sunday and it says plan for increased business

My guess is the wireless service routers for better service?

    • PatheticLoser

Either you’ve never worked for T-Mo or just don’t know what your’re talking about. All-Hands days mean everyone needs to be there for selling. Mandatory meetings (like Firestarter) are totally different and they aren’t all required to be on the same day. Also, Firestarter is scheduled for the 23rd or the 25th meaning they’ve specifically eliminated that possibility.

    • CRT24

Do you or have you worked for T-Mobile??…..firestarter meetings have never been even remotely related to all hands days

TMO IS NOT GETTING THE IPHONE!!!! Please do not get your hopes up. The 24th is fora big selling event i.e. “All Smartphones Free”. Again the Iphone 5 has a UMTS/CDMA chipset (No AWS), which means no T-Mobile. Laugh, Live, Love…ANDROID!!!!

    • Enoel69

U r wrong my friend…how do u know which chipset the iPhone 5 has…have u seen it? THE iPHONE WILL BE ON ALL FOUR MAJOR NETWORKS and that includes Tmobile.

    • Anonymous

Nope.. you are wrong.   AWS is band IV UMTS.  It is included in iphone 5 chipset.

    • Chantelle_sa

Since you know something I don’t know, will it be like  where you get a new phone for free, if u sign up for a new 2 yr contract that costs like $20 more per month than a non contract plan.  thats the part that kills the deal.

Deutsche Telekom has admitted last year that the reason why T-Mobile been losing customers is because of lack iphone. Apple been testing iphone 5 on both T-mobile and Sprint

Well sprint is going to have an AHD and its specifically for the GS2 so im a bet on the GS2 being it or a whole slew of devices

  • derek 21

THIS HAS NOTHING to do with the galaxy s2. we wouldn’t be having a major meeting for a phone everyone is getting there is nothing special to prep for. like one of the guys on here said read the first line, it has something to do with a special promotion more then likely, and or a phone pre-order.

  • http://www.iphoneleaks.net/ Redsnow 4.3.5

So that will be the crucial day hmmm

  • Jays_on

Had Blackberry’s, Had Androids, and had iphones. They’re all good, but for me they don’t compare to the iphone. I am NOT an apple/mac fan, nor do I own any other apple products. But they figured this one out. Here’s to hoping we finally get it!!!!!

  • The Architect(of the Matrix)

Hopefully this meeting is to showcase the hercules specs and features to t-mobile employees, followed shortly after by a (proper) public showing.. But I suspect that is just wishful thinking on my part*sighs*..

Its been nearly ten days since the Samsung event, and no new statements from the mother ship, what gives?..

Honestly I am gradually starting to lose interest in the hercules*tear drops*.. I find myself more interested in the Samsung note and htc ruby respectively.. With over 50 days to go until the rumored release date(Oct 26), I fear I will have moved on by then.. *looks to the sky and screams why t-mobile, why* End rant

    • Chantelle_sa

Yes, this is my sentiment exactly.  I am going to wait for the note.  it makes perfect sense.  just the right size that I can get rid of my laptop/pc and use one device for everything.  tired of waiting for the samsung hercules.  only problem i am having, is wondering if the gps issue is going to be there.  still have unreliable gps on my vibrant.
