    • Daniel

Getting ready to head down to my local store today and get new phones! They were nice enough to hold our phones until the sale today. We’re taking them donuts as well. ;)

      • Frigadroid

Americans could have saved a lot of cash if we would have bombarded the middle east with krispy kreme, dunkin donuts & some starbucks extra bold sumatran blend to wash em down. Donuts make friends lol;-)

    Biggest joke of a sale I’ve ever seen. This isn’t a sale-it’s a scam.

    • tmofasho

How’s it a scam..normally no MIR on value plan pricing…now you can get up to a 150 off a phone… If you look at it like this the sensation is 499.99 you %20 off through a MIR…

      • Cmanning0385

I think that it is the fact that it is being advertised as a HUGE sale when in reality it is not.  It will save customers money-just 100 bucks…

        • http://twitter.com/caseymcg Casey McG.

You are just wrong.  You and all these whiners who can’t do basic math JUST. DONT. GET. IT.

By your reasoning, its a better deal to make car payments of $500/mo vs 300/mo, so long as your down payment is a thousand dollars less.  Pay no attention to the fact that you will pay $10,000 more for the life of the loan.  That kind of thinking is why cars are still sold the way they are in this country, i.e., hugely variable pricing based on the confusability of the average customer.

        • n900mixalot

Do the math. These plans only save about 150 over the lifetime of the plan. The savings from the subsidy granted in the Classic plans are accounted for by the additional amount paid for the device. It is a negligible savings.

Any way you go you are spending between 1800 and 2000.

It is a sale. You’re getting a discount on a phone with a value plan! Sure mirs suck, but that’s how it is.

stupid MIR crap i dont want a damn MIR just let me put down $99 on the sensation and thats it!!!!

  • Guest 2011

Walmart has the htc sensation for only 98 dollars. Just picked up 2 on an upgrade. No mail in rebates and I got to keep the same plan. That is way better than this sale.

    • OKDave

Yeah, but how much is your plan right now? The key is comparing apples to apples. You’re paying for that phone whether you realize it or not :)

      • Guest 2011

I don’t mind being on contract for another 2 years. (Pending on what happens with the acquisition). I’m on a family plan, paying $20 for 5 GB data for each line, 3000 minutes, unlimited text, and each line pays $5 to share unlimited text and minutes. We hardly ever use up the minutes as we mainly use it for texting and data.

        • Tylergoneaway

Yes, he asked you how much your plan is doofus. You pay at least $155 for your plan. The unlimited everything plan with two eip’s is $135. That’s $20/mo over two years = $480 savings.

Walmart deal = good for now
T-Mobile sale = good for the long haul

        • Anonymous

Really…so how is it that I have 5 lines unlimited calling, text and web for 160…..discounts…thats how….

Name calling is not really needed!

        • DMKC

Exactly!  Same with us…we’ve never gone over our minutes or data.  I have one more line to upgrade next month, so will be looking at the Samsung Hercules (GSS2).

The plan includes unlimited TALK, TXT and 2Gb data.. right? I ask 1 Tmobile CS and said that its not unlimited talk but 1000 minutes. Can anyone clarify this.

Value unlimited talk text web (2gb) for a single line 59.99.

This is false advertising. Went to local store and they said the G2X was $150 out of pocket then $50 mail in rebate.
You have to get the $49.99 truly unlimited plan for this to actually be worth it, but in the end, you’re still paying full price for the phone, minus whatever you get back in the form of a mail in rebate.

    • Phershey128

Look at the big pjcture. Ratd plan is only 49.99. No scam. New phone and rate plan is saving me $5 aonth for 20 months and the $20 a month after the phone is paid off. No scam

      What is false about it?

Compare the cost for the full 2 year contract of the Value Plan with today’s discount vs the same service level with a Classic Plan (i.e., up front phone discount only).  You will pay more money over the length of the Classic Plan every time.  Its pretty simple.

    • clint battle

You are correct.  Its false.  Its $99 down not $99 total. I called my local tmobile store.

  • Respawn

Any of these phones besides the G2X able to be used on AT&T’s 3G network as well? I don’t want to commit to something I may regret later…

I still find it almost impossible to believe that Tmobile marketing is so incompetent that as an existing customer, I did not get one piece of communication about this sale.  No email, no phone call, no text. Why bother having a big promotion and not telling anyone, especially the people you want to keep.

    • motu

I agree this sale hasn’t really been marketed in the traditional sense, but I think that’s because the sale is really targeted at a specific group of people – people who are willing and able to buy unlocked phones at full price. And those people have found out about it through blogs and whatnot.

      • Ross

Check out the other web site my simple mobile dot com and see if that is a better deal if you are going to buy an unlocked phone at full price anyway?  They say they run on the tmobile network and have unlimited plans for forty to sixty dollars

      • KrispyKreme

yeah, but, Ross is correct. i am an EM+ customer (they should be targeting me) and would not have known about this “promotion” had it not been for Tmonews.

      • Ross

If you are willing to buy unlocked phones and full price in exchange for cheap plans on the Tmobile network then check out these articles on this other cell carrier that uses the Tmobile network and offers unlimited plans for those of you with unlocked GSM phones.

Simple Mobile Unleashes $40 Unlimited Everything Plan – Industry Fallout InsideBy Christopher Price on September 23, 2011Simple Mobile had already rolled out the first all-everything plan with unlimited 4G data at $60/month. Simple Mobile is one of only two Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) on the T-Mobile USA network. However, they have gained praise by many for supporting and embracing unlocked (and T-Mobile-compatible) devices and for offering rates competitive with first and second-party prepaid offerings.Today’s offering slots in Simple Mobile as having the cheapest unlimited-everything plan in America. The plan is $20 cheaper than Virgin Mobile’s unlimited everything plan, and $15 cheaper than Boost’s similar offering. It is not yet clear how Simple Mobile is offering “3G Only” service. Like T-Mobile, Simple Mobile uses HSPA+, an upgrade to HSPA, and declares it to be a 4G technology. It is possible that Simple Mobile is barring access to HSPA+ on SIM cards provisioned with the new plan, but it is more likely that the carrier is throttling. The company also began formally supporting BlackBerry BIS customers. Similar to Virgin Mobile, the $60 plan price-point remains the same, however for customers that wish to forgo 4G service, the company also offers a 3G unlimited everything plan for $50 per month.

        • guest

Is this a T-Mobile site or a Simple Mobile site?

      • None

But what if I am happy with my service and want to tell my friends who will have *new* accounts.  It is silly not to advertise to current customers, even if they do not qualify for the event.  If i dont qualify, fine.  But if I know people that do, they should want that word-of-mouth.  There is NO ONE that can sell TMO better than a happy TMO customer through word-of-mouth.  It is silly that they do not understand that and at least let me get the word out to potential customers.

  • Ross

Check out the new wireless plan called Simple Mobile (Just Google it for the website).  It provides cheap unlimited plans ($40-60) while running on the Tmobile network.  Its a bring your own phone plan which works with unlocked GSM phones.  So if your Tmobile contract has expired and you already have a phone, or maybe you’re thinking of buying a phone outright – this probably would be cheaper than a value plan…and you’re still running on the Tmobile network. This may work for people.  Read about it on a tech website; had never heard about it before,

    • n900mixalot

MUCH cheaper. I’m headed over to them as soon as T-mobile gets rid of FlexPay on my account. I’m not signing a fuggin contract until I know for sure that i won’t be sold to AT&T. Plus, 40 a month for unlimited 3G works perfectly with my Optimus 3D. I wouldn’t need to pay 60 unless i had a 4G phone and the truth is that when I had a G2 I couldn’t even see the difference between 3 and 4G.

      • Ross

THANK GOD…FINALLY SOMEONE TOOK ME SERIOUSLY AND CHECKED INTO IT INSTEAD OF SAYING IDIOTIC COMMENTS OR CLAIMING I WORK FOR WALMART.  Ive been a loyal Tmobile customer for as long as anyone…Ive never had another cell phone carrier in my life….But I read several articles on various websites about this company and it seemed like it would be of interest to Tmobile customers since they run on Tmobile network and use Tmobile/GSM unlocked phones…So to me – the non-techie – it seems like it would be the same service at a lower price if you already had a phone.  At least someone didn’t demagogue and actually checked it out to see that Im not making this stuff up or pulling it out of my ass.

Now, the company is offering a new middle ground to combat rival Virgin Mobile.Simple Mobile is one of only two Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) on the T-Mobile USA network. Boost Mobile customers can use the Shrinkage offering to lock in a lower rate, as low as $35 per month, but that requires a customer to constantly pay on-time. Otherwise, the rate goes back up to $55 the moment a customer misses a payment, or chooses to suspend service. It is not yet clear how Simple Mobile is offering “3G Only” service. There are a LOT of terrible people online who want to do nothing more than try to make others look bad or feel dumb. There are quite a few here as well.

I have been following Simple Mobile for a while now, and I think they are the obvious choice for people who love T-Mobile, have a Tmo phone or device, and who are out of contract.

60 per month for unlimited everything at 4G speeds, or 40 a month for 3G. The only problem I see is their no tethering policy. Tmo allows tethering so… But, I dont know that they enforce it heavily on unlocked phones.

So yeah, I support tem and think Tmo should sell them towers and specrtrum so that they can operate like MetroPCS, and keep GSM freedom of choice and availability alive. CDMA carriers with ONE nationwide GSM carrier, AT&T is UNACCEPTABLE.

        • Tbyrne

Congratulations Ross. You did it! Made your first sale with simple mobile. I guess David should start the process of renaming this site SimMoNews. Hell, let’s just have one carrier in the U.S. and we’ll never have to worry about anything anymore. We’ll just fork over whatever we’re told to. I’m losing hope that T-Mobile can continue to be. T-Mobile’s dead! Long live T-Mobile!

Would it be a smart idea to G-Slate? I just really want a tablet. & this sale seems really tempting. (:

If you want to pay for internet and have a tablet, then it is a great deal. I personally have the EEE Pad Transformer and it is amazing.

      • Tito!

        Yeah. Right?

Because I was thinking. I’d only pay $99, after the MIR.
& only pay the $10 monthly + $10 for the 200 MB Value Plan (thanks to Voice discount)

I have tethering on my phone. so, if I’m ever on the road I could use my phone’s internet.

Sounds like a better idea to me. I got the EVO View 4G on contract and I’m paying the ETF and getting out of the contract as soon as it drops to about 200. By then I think their will be some good options out there.

Thing is, I have wanted this tablet for a long time and so whatever happens, I won’t mind because of how badly I wanted the thing.

I’ve seen GTabs for 350, by the way.

I am so use to not being in contract that I can’t possibly think about committing myself to one, besides; none of these phones are enticing, I’m actually happy with my dell venue pro. Hope you guys are enjoying this, but it’s a shame T-Mobile is using this sale to compensate for not having the iphone 5.

    • Tony in Miami

I agree with you, and is a shame that after 8 years with them, this are the only things that some bright genius “THOUGHT” that this could compensate for NOT have either one of the Iphones…….Sad Sad Sad.

    • http://twitter.com/caseymcg Casey McG.

If the iPhone is the only that matters to someone than they should not consider T-Mobile (kind of odd comment coming from someone with a Windows phone, but whatevs).

But if you like money, and don’t like giving it to others, then T-Mobile is not the joke you seem to be implying.

Say, e.g., you get the HTC Sensation (which I hear does not suck, see CNET or other reviews, i myself don’t have one) and you choose unlimited phone, unlimited text plus 2 Gig data.

With T-Mobile, this will cost you $1740 over the course of 2 years (including cost of phone).

With and iPhone from AT&T, the same level of service plus cost of iPhone = $2960.

So, you pay over $1200 more for the joy of having an iPhone.

For some its worth it.  For some, its not.  Some just don’t even have a clue how much more they are spending.

It’s obvious that you misunderstood my post. For 1, i was in no way implying on the massive spending’s you get when you go for AT&T for the iphone but it’s ok “because its an iphone”, I love T-Mobile. I have the money to go to which ever carrier i want, and i am sure you do too but I choose T-Mobile for obvious reasons, pay less and get more! 2, I was in no way saying the Iphone is better than any other phone, if that was the case i would have an iphone 4 running on EDGE and looking down at anyone who doesn’t use an iOS device, but i don’t because i am a PROUD windows phone 7 user cause it does what i want (but whatevs right?). i am a fan of ALL mobile phones, just non of these phones on sale spark my interest. What i was trying to say in my comment (last sentence) was that i didnt think it was wise of T-Mobile to not ADD the iphone5 to its portfolio of smart phones, i WANT t-mobile to succeed, which is why they should have listened to the crying public, they want the iphone! 1 million users use an unlocked iphone on there network!! that’s a fact! By having the iphone on T-Mobiles network with amazing low prices t-mobile wins. It sucks yea, that people are blinded by Steve Jobs creation but whatever he did its working. I would NEVER switch carriers because of the iphone, makes no sense to me. But this is about T-Mobile succeeding not crying about not having the iphone. They know this is true, lock those in before the announcement is made next month and T-Mobile not carrying the iphone 5 (thats low ball T-Mobile). Of course this is all RUMOR until Tim Cook clarifies and if i am wrong i will be glad then you can kindly disregard this post, but it sounds like it is true.

Couldn’t of said it better myself!

      • jarjon76

Well said! As an owner of the Sensation, and someone who is very familiar with the iphone, I can tell you the Sensation is a FAR better phone. It’s not even close. I’ll take it a step further and say the Sensation is better than what’s rumored to be on the iphone 5.

If you want to pay for a name, go with the iphone. If you want a true smartphone, go with the Sensation.

I know that Walmart sells the Astound and from my understanding it is considered a smart phone. True it doesn’t use any of the popular O/S systems but it’s still considered a smart phone. I know the Nuron wasn’t though.

“Feature Phone” not a “Smart Phone”

        • Anonymous

Educate yourself beyond what the US media feeds you and beyond your limited experience and opinion. Symbian, all editions, is and has been a smartphone OS.

        • jarjon76

Psst, you’re not nearly as smart as you think you are, Deaky.

        • Anonymous

I never said I thought I was smart. I only stated corrections to the posters saying that Symbian isn’t a smartphone OS and isn’t “considered” a smartphone OS when factually it is and has been a smartphone OS.

My other comment was about the statement of Symbian not being a popular OS, I stated that Symbian IS infact popular and has the largest installed user base throughout the world.

Who said anything about being smart? I didn’t come up with that information about Symbian, it is freely available to all, if you take the time and look for it and learn about it for yourself, hence my educate yourself comment.

        • jarjon76

Psst, you’re not nearly as smart as you think you are, Deaky.

everyone who was foolish enough to get it with a required feature should punch themselves in the face… but T-Mobile still asks for a $10.00 data plan to get the mir.

      • Anonymous

Popular? Symbian has the largest smartphone user base in the world. People outside of the US buy smartphones too and they did before iOS and Android we even dreamed up.

Fact beats consideration. Symbian is smartphone OS and there are many different editions os Symbian so Symbian = Symbian is untrue. The Nuron’s Symbian is not the same as the Astounds Symbian that isnt the same as the N82s Symbian that us even different from the N86s Symbian, even the 701 has a different Symbian.

People have a blind opinion as if Symbian is one OS. A best buy rep asked what OS was on my N8, i sad Symbian, he said ugh!, I showed him Symbian^3 Belle and he was amazed.

He thought it was the same as the Nuron.

Speaking of Nuron, dont you all know that the 5230 was the lowest of Symbian touch phones, what kind of performance did you expect from 434Mhz and NO GPU. Dont blame Symbian, blame Tmo for picking the weakest Symbian phone ever created.

Lets atleast educate ourselves if our media isnt going to tell the whole story. We may live in the US but that isnt an excuse to be ignorant of the Truths of the world.

        • JBLMOBILEG1

What I mean by popular is from a US point of view. It’s not my fault Nokia doesn’t release more of their nicer phones to the US without either having to buy them unlocked or from overseas. Ask anyone who uses or even has a smartphone and more than likely they will know what Android is over Symbian… unless of course they have a Nokia. I remember when Nokia was like the iphone in the US. Everyone seemed to own one and they had faceplates with just about anything you wanted on them. To me Nokia still makes quality phones only they are limited in the US. Why I don’t really know…. maybe because Googles and Apples O/S are more popular here. I know I would buy a Nokia with the Android O/S in a heartbeat. Last I heard they were working with Microsoft.. to me that’s a mistake… but whatever floats their boat.

        • Bruce Banner

Hey deacon, if symbian is so popular why is nokia failing to the point that they’re switching to windows 7? Symbian is dead get off your high horse.

I wonder how busy the stores is… I don’t see this as a “big” event, if all smart phone were free up front, then It might create some store traffic, but paying abit up front plus dealing with MIR. I’m not sure if this would be successful.

Plans are attractive, but Phone prices are not.

    IMO.

    • Derrickps3

not that busy, well at least my local tmobile stores, was only 2 or 3 people when i went to speak to the female rep at the time , lol.seemed like a normal business day

  • customerSince2003

All the stores in town have banners saying “2 Day Sale” – went in one and it was not especially busy. My rep was really polite and knew his stuff.

On EM + family plan now, and the current value plan is actually attractive. We would save about $400 over the 2 years. Wish there was a better incentive than this, since we don’t need new phones right now.

I can’t believe that one Tmobile CS insists that we have to pay additional $20/mo to get unlimited talk. She said the value plan today is unlimited txt + 2Gb + 1000 minutes (2 lines)…

We have unlimited talk+txt+ 2Gb for $80/mo but she said to change it to 1000 minutes after a month or if we want unlimited TALK, we have to add additional $20 a month.

Can she change the plan from unlimited talk+txt+ 2Gb to unlimited txt+ 2Gb +1000 minutes talk after a month? I thought I entered a contract for 2 years?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1350219741 Derrick Ford

Because this requires a contract… this is almost no different than the old “subsidized plans”

  • Prahawalker

My contract is only 6 months old and they want $150 to change it to a “better” $49.99/ phone. I still haven’t got my OTA update for my MT4G

    • Tmo Rep

Go to the store, they will put a micro sd card in your phone and do the update for you in 10 minutes or less

      • Meagan

That’s if you are lucky enough to find a tmobile store that has the sd card. Most don’t, and won’t be getting it, and most reps don’t know of a nearby store that has it.

Tmobile should have an update on a webpage to state which stores were sent the sd cards. How hard is that?

      • Prahawalker

Funny thing is that my wife got the OTA update months ago and I’m the one who is really wanting it.

OK, why would anyone be dumb enough to renew any contract with TMO when they have no clue what’s going to happen next year with this so called buy out. Either way the German’s are out of here and that shiny new phone is instant junk!

    • Tbyrne

Not true! Whatever happens, our contracts will be honored. Duh!!

      • Me

Yes dude thy will be honored, but whn u want a new phone or promotion thy will jack up ur rates. Thts what AT&T does. ;)

        • Mopar6464

Not if you buy your replacement phone off contract , cash.
Then your rate will stay the same.

    • Ross

Well if you have a contract, your plan will be honored at least for those 2 years.  What happens when your contract expires is another issue…but if you have a plan  you want to keep for 24 months, you can sign a new contract

    • jarjon76

If the merger/buyout is approved, it’s still going to take at least a year for AT&T to complete the takeover. Signing a 2 yr contract right now isn’t a bad idea, esp if you have a grandfathered rate plan and want to hang on to it for as long as possible. I love the paranoid consumer.

That’s because you recently got a phone from them dbag.
So now you want more from them?
MAYBE you should teach your family to appreciate what they have instead of blaming tmobile for not giving you more.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2K5TCSPGRIQID4IWGAH7LYVMXY lubba

Just plain stupid to do big sale on old products.  Tmo should wait for the new phones to arrive then do the big sale.  One can imagine the many customers new and old that will show up. Maybe this is to get rid of old inventory or meeting with investors is coming up shortly.

    • Tbyrne

They’ll arrive. You can count on it!

thats what SALES are for!  clear out the old crap to make room for the new stuff coming in.  why have big sale on new devices in high demand…or higher demand than out dated stuff anyway?

  • Terrillorme

I dont often post but today I had to, I thought today was one sweet deal at least on the gslate tablet, which I scored for 99$ even if i decide to cancel the contract i still have myself a 300$ 3D android honeycomb tablet that normally retails at 599$ or 399$ after a rebate. T-mobile’s one day sale had me winning like Mr. Sheen, as I wanted a Tablet anyway and was in the market but price point kept me away….. but at 99$ for a 4g tablet, even at 299$ if I cancel is a sweet frigg’n deal if you wanted a tablet.

    • W3m1975

LMAO your math is jacked up, if you cancel and end up with the balance of the device and the etf you just dropped 499.99 on that old tablet.

      • Me

        Dude you just got jacked!

Coz now of u cancel, you pay $200 + ($15*20) + 300 for something that no one wants to buy.

U have 14 days, go cancel dude.

    • W3m1975

LMAO your math is jacked up, if you cancel and end up with the balance of the device and the etf you just dropped 499.99 on that old tablet.

    • Anonymous

Terrillorme, did you sign up for the value plan with the gslate? If so, when you cancel after 30 days and before your contract ends, you will have to pay the full retail price of the gslate. At least this is what I understood when I read their tos for the value plan. It’s the classic plans that you only pay the $200 etf. Check it out and please let me know if I’m wrong.

    • Meagan

Dude, I got a feeling you’re going to be one of those Tmobile-scammed-me-so-now-I-whine-and-complain-on-every-forum-because-you-didn’t-read-the-contract-you-signed-and-thought-you’d-only-be-out-$300-after-canceling.

Happens all the time…  You’re not alone…  Cancel now, and read that contract completely before you go sour.

    • Anonymous

You think you’re smart with this deal huh?…

    • Lol

Lol you’re another one of those “i know it all” customers I deal with constantly for the past 5 years. Just don’t come to my store for help when you realize you’re wrong.

    • ItsMichaelNotMike

LOL… I can’t believe how accurate your comment is.

You say you are just like “Mr Sheen” winning. You foo-l. Charlie Sheen LOST and big. He even admits he didn’t “win.” On the Tonight Show last week when Jay asked him about “winning” he said “Well, no I didn’t, I got fired.”

Please, cancel your contract like you suggest. And let us know what that tablet really ends up costing you.

Does not matter does it. After all, you are WINNING.

    • jarjon76

You should go back to not posting, unless you enjoy being laughed at.

    • jarjon76

  • Terrillorme

No my math is just fine, 99$ (after 200$ rebate) the rebate is 200$ the same as the etf if i cancel after rebate its still 299$ for a 5 month old tablet with full support’ however you slice it its 299. How do you come up with your figures? 499?

    • George

Did you sign up with a value or classic plan?

      • Terrillorme

        I signed up for classic

        • 034rocco

How? The $99 deal was only for the “Value Plan”!

    • George

Did you sign up with a value or classic plan?

    • Truth

it says above that there is a monthly cost of $10 for 20 months for the equipment installment plan for the gslate. it is build in to your monthly payment. You will have to pay the full installment plan immediately if you decide to cancel. Plus the 200 early termination fee for the contract. Plus the 99.99 you paid after rebate, so you are paying a total of 200+200+99=499.99 plus your monthly service and activation fees. But if you keep the service you only pay 99.99 +200 eip =299.99 for the glsate and monthly service, not a bad deal.

  • Mzdiana2010

I went in to upgrade my old phone. I was told by the store manager that this sale was really to get new customers. If you notice, most of these sales are geared to new people. I got the HTC Sensation, and within about 4 hours dropped it and the screen is shattered. I am having the hardest time filing a claim for this phone. Is there any other insurance other than Asurion for cell phones?

    • None

If they are geared towards new people, shouldn’t they do some advertising?

  • MzDiana2010

Did everyone’s due date change. I just made a payment on the 4th and another one is due on the 28th? I called and was told that everyone was changed because of some misunderstandings. So they said this affected everyone.

It effected a large number of people (could be everyone) but it was a hot topic on here for a bit.  Mine changed as well.

Maybe the answer is to not be a slacker and pay your bills at the very last minute. Another possibility is that maybe you shouldn’t have a service you can’t afford to pay in timely manner.

What a rip-off!  Those are no better than Target Mobile’s every day “no mail in rebate” prices!

    • JBLMOBILEG1

Or even Walmart. ;-) The Sensation alone there on a new or existing contract is only $98.88 and no mail in rebates or extra payments on the phone. Just one flat fee and that’s it… well besides the upgrade fee Tmobile charges you for of $18.00 but still.

      • I wish

Is this true!? The website shows me $154.99 for upgrade :(

  • Lesa

Went to my T-mobile store yesterday to find out if I could get a sweet deal on the Sensation and my rep said the phone wasn’t “on” sale but rather it was 200.00 up front then you get a 50.00 rebate making the phone 150.00 and that is the going price.  She then told me to wait for the GS2 and it would be the same price.  I really doubt the GS2 will be sold for 200.00.  My plan right now with my Samsung Vibrant is 3G and I’m paying 90.00 a month for it.  I’m sick of paying so much for such crap 3G service.  I’m seriously considering going to At&t and at least get the GS2 sooner (release date rumored 10/3) and getting WAY better service in this area.  Tmobile I can’t even get service 10 miles south of my house or at my mom’s.  I’m paying 90.00 a month for a crappy 3G Vibrant with crap phone and data signal.  It doesn’t get any worse than that I don’t think.

    • Rdfrancis516

Agreed… riding this out until I can cancel with TMobile. Trash company now.

    • Alex

All prices have dropped Lesa… Please check the newest prices.  I was paying $79.99 for unlimited talk text and web (no contract) and even that has dropped down to $69.99 so you might want to look into it.

      • Lesa

Yeah I guess the least I can do is call and find out what they can do for me instead of whine. :) Im still thinking about the limited service I have in some areas but I’ve known that for years. I do think it’s wrong though to charge a long time customer who has a 3g phone same as someone who gets 4g service. Not that I think t-mobile needs to jack up their 4g prices. Soon I’ll have a 4g phone too.
I’m afraid to jump ship because other carriers have so many extra fees and don’t have any true unlimited data plans anymore. I still don’t get service at all at my mom’s or mother in laws house which is starting to bother me enough to switch to At&t. I have called T-mobile and confirmed that they don’t have service in either of those areas but I can’t cancel my contract without proving I live there which I don’t. I’m still in debate to keep my cheap phone contract that works 80% of the time or pay up to 30.00 to 50.00 more a month for better service but way more corporate bullshit. T-mobile has been nothing but stellar from a customer service standpoint. Ugh.

Most carriers are launching the SGS II in October. Be patient, there’s been some tweaks and changes for the U.S. units.

      http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/09/13/initial-hands-on-with-the-samsung-epic-4g-touch-for-sprint/

Sidenote: Samsung just announced that in the five months the SGS II has been available it has sold more than 10 million units. That’s quite impressive considering it has not launched in the U.S. (with the exception of Sprint who debuted the Epic 4G Touch).
