Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 To Have Super Specs?

First of all, if this is truly a Samsung produced teaser video, whoever chose the music needs to be fired. Immediately. Whoever got approval to use the rumored (and we emphasize complete rumor here) specs, needs a raise. We urge these specs are rumor only for the moment (did we mention they are rumored) with no way of verifying but if they are true, they are pretty great.

  • Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread (upgrade 3.0 Honeycomb)
  • 3D Display after upgrade to 3.0 Honeycomb. I’m not sure what kind of 3D display, really… will it be glasses-free?
  • NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor
  • Gorilla Glass screen
  • Back camera: 8mp, 1080p video, Dual LED flash. Front camera: 3mp
  • 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0
  • USB Port
  • 64 GB Internal Memory, MicroSD Slot, 1024 MB RAM
  • Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Barometer
  • 7″ 2048×1200 Super-AMOLED (Plus?) Display

No word on when or if we might see this one come stateside but with MWC around the corner and word that T-Mobile has set the current model Galaxy Tab to end of life, perhaps we’ll see this one on Magenta soon!

good question. Maybe its not fully stable? who knows…..

  • GinaDee

I have the original tab but my next one will be 8.9′ or higher like the LG Slate or the Moto Xoom.

Perhaps someone who leaked those specs aren’t aware that HSPA + is considered 4G here in the US so I’ll reserve my judgement that 3G mistake until further info is available. If it is only HSDPA in 2011 when all the rest are 4G then this will be a loser.

i am interested in the galaxy tab but my concerns are as follows: 1) Its Samsung. They like to take forever releasing updates and then over-complicate them when they finally do release them.2). Its Samsung. They like to ruin Android by putting their crappy and ugly touchwiz UI over it. Is it like this on all Samsung android devices? AND 3) Its Samsung.

They’re moving too fast. My concern is if I buy one, 3 months later the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 will be out. I understand technolgy & how it moves. But, can we have a year before they release the sequel to another phone. To me, it pisses off the customers. I was mad when I got the Vibrant & I couldn’t get Froyo, & I got tired of the battery life & switched to the G2. Now, if I would’ve kept it I woulda really been mad because now they have a Vibrant 2 coming out. U know how pissed id be to spend $500+ (installment plan) to get the best phone T-Mobile could possibly have, so I could be faithful & not keep upgrading phones every 6 months & keep a device for at least a year. & I know I don’t have to buy it, but I would’ve wanted the features the Samsung Vibrant 4G had in my original Vibrant. Those are my concerns. I will not be buying Samsung no more. They move too fast, ex: Vibrant-Vibrant 4G (6 month span), Galaxy tab, Galaxy Tab 4G (3-4 month span).

    • 4G_or_not_4G

wrong on this one…they released a device just to get into the market, now with dual core and honeycomb, if they do not compete, they will be left behind…they don’t have a choice but to upgrade to keep up with the Jones

      • http://cosmicbreeze.tumblr.com/ DtheArtist

Umm… how am I wrong? They knew about dual core before hand, but yet they didn’t put in on the device in the 1st place, you can easily upgrade to honeycomb (it’s software) if they really wanted too. Neither one of these are new. If it took them a few months to release a sequel they had BEEN working on it before hand during the time these features were knew of. They could’ve simply released 1 device with all the features. & “they released a device just to get into the market.” fail…. they can release a device anytime they want to.. Nobody made hype behind Samsung releasing a tablet, but themselves. Look @ LG, nobody made them release a tablet with less than stellar features of the current market. They decided to wait & release a G-slate when they wanted to with all the right features. Just like they put the real 4G on the Samsung Vibrant “4G” when 4G the network & capabilities was already out, eh? You don’t make no sense. Just like how Samsung released their 1ST behold 2, & promise Eclair, & Froyo, but left it in the dust for a Vibrant, then left the Vibrant in the dust & gave other countries Froyo, & then made a sequel device with real 4G? It’s not about keeping up with the Jones’ necessarily, it’s about them trying to get fatter pockets. Let’s see how you feel when you get less than exceptional products shelling out $500+ & then they turn around & release the sequel to your product months later.

        • Abc

thats your fault for buying. you should have done your reseach before you pulled the trigger. you have no one to blame except for yourself. samsung is just doing what everyone else in business does by creating planned or incrimental improvements on their devices to get ppl to buy.

          again, in summary
-your fault, should have done your homework
          -samsung didnt do anything wrong.

        • http://cosmicbreeze.tumblr.com/ DtheArtist

How is it my fault when I don’t know? Did anyone know Samsung was releasing a 4G version of the Vibrant months later? No… Don’t you think if that’s the case most people wouldn’t have bought the original Vibrant? Did anyone know Samsung wouldn’t release any further updates than Android 1.6 to the Behold II? No…, but Research said they would. Most people didn’t even know a Samsung Galaxy Tabs 2 was coming out & with these features. I’m pretty sure that’s why it’s posted on this blog as “New”(s), because it’s new info. The most anybody knew as far as the Galaxy Tab’s was is that a Wifi version was coming. Does research constitute for people knowing whether Samsung is gonna actually release any further updates? clearly not.

        • G2

Everyone knows there will always be a better phone after a short while (ie. months). Sometimes from the same manufacturer and sometimes from a different one. Just how it is.

        • DIce

While its understandable that a new device wil be out every few months, most other companies attempt to do better by their customers than Samsung. The Tab was a rush job. Even Google stated that no Android versions were optimized for a tablet. Samsung released one anyway instead of waiting the short 6 months for Honeycomb to be available. Now you have the 2nd one coming out in less than 6 months running Gingerbread? And people are supposed to believe that its upgradable to Honeycomb? I never get caught up in their hype. The last Samsung phone I owned was the T809. After that I promised myself I’d never return no matter what. Alot of their products just don’t stand up in terms of quality in my opinion.

I had a 12 month discount to use when I bought my Vibrant. I said F!@# that I’ma just pay cash and use a bigger discount sometime early this year on something BIGGER and BETTER than the Vibrant. I honestly expected a phone just like the upcoming AT&T Samsung Infuse to be coming out around this time but unfortunently its the phone I want but with a smaller screen size than I want.

Point is that we all know something better is coming out and even you know it. Just let go of the fact that your device(s) gets outdated in half a year instead of a whole year and you’ll come to terms with all this.

I still remember when Blue cellphone screens came out. MAN mine was still that old green color!

        • http://cosmicbreeze.tumblr.com/ DtheArtist

Umm… clearly I didn’t know it per se because I bought the original Vibrant. I’m pretty sure with $500+ at risk if I “knew” I wouldn’t have bought it in the 1st place. Yes, I do not better device’s release later (From other manufacturer’s & in a time period); however, I did not know that the sequel of the device I had would release with what I initially wanted so soon. I’d think about 9-10 months. But, now I know. With that said, I’m done replying. That’s how I felt at the time. It’s obvious I’m not necessarily saying I feel that way now because I don’t have a Vibrant anymore, I “chose” to buy a G2. I’m saying this is how i feel about Samsung from that point on (buying the original Vibrant) to now. We can stop the whole forum on my comment now. I don’t understand why am I the one everyone wants to reply to when it’s simply my opinion. Believe me, I’m not the only one who feels like this.

First I wanna say that its getting old everybody blaming Samsung for some of this stuff. TMOBILE manipulated the Samsung Galaxy S and they are the ones to thank for the missing/added features. The fact that there is no FFC on the Vibrant is T-Mobile’s fault for stripping it out not SAMSUNG’s. The fact that there is no HSPA+ radio in the Vibrant is T-Mobile’s
fault not SAMSUNG. Sprint put a 4G radio in their version so why didnt our carrier??? TMOBILE decided these things. THEY could have waited to sell the Galaxy S 4G but they wanted to hurry up and pimp it out so they wouldnt be left behind.

I understand your frustration but being a tech geek and as you said you “understand technolgy & how it moves” then you should also understand that it was 7 whole months AFTER the Galaxy S was released that a Dual Core phone was even released.

The Galaxy Tab situation is a joke and EVERYBODY knew that it would not be a good idea to by any of the manufacturer’s first generation Tablet especially considering that its running a phone OS.

You sir have just burned yourself. But I’m have happily been running FroYo for months now and enjoy Video with my FFC over the same Data speeds that my GF is getting on her MT4G.

please, dont be a moronic consumer and buy this device (if it ever actually comes out with these specs). samsung’s reputation precedes them. you know they dont like to update software. i have a relative that works for samsung mobile in korea. if they were to give me the device for free, it would still cost too much. I for one (current vibrant owner) will never, EVER own a samsung product again, no matter what it is
