Dell Streak 7 Passes FCC With T-Mobile AWS On Board

A nice little treat this morning courtesy of the FCC comes in the fashion of the Dell Streak 7 passing the FCC with T-Mobile AWS and AT&T bands on board. It was just before our holiday break that we heard word from our own ninjas that this device was indeed dropping for T-Mobile and we expect an announcement coming up next week at CES.

On board there is an SD reader, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, rumors of a Tegra 2 chip powering the device and WiFi b/g/n. We’re still not sure what Android version the Dell Streak 7 will ship with but we expect at least one T-Mobile honeycomb tablet to be announced at CES. Could it be the Streak 7, or something more?

Sure hope this does better than the original Streak

Another carrier Tablet destined for mediocre success at best. Hurry up CES so we can see the REAL tablets already. We the majority do not need/want to be tied to a carrier for our internet when we will use a tablet primarily in our house over WiFi. Why don’t they understand this yet??

Not sure how much of what CES has to show will actually make it. I go every year and I can tell you firsthand that tablets FLOODED the floor at CES, yet we have to viable ones available (the iPad, which wasn’t even there and the Galaxy tab). Yes, there are some knock-offs and a couple of wanna-be’s, but those are the real contenders.

Yes, I hope that there are more this year, but CES will probably once again be flooded and maybe this time around, we’ll get more product out for the carriers.

or is this one an actual phone unlike the Tab?

  • Wondercoolguy

This should be a phone/tablet! it better have dual core and a physical search button too and oh yeah some ads showing ppl this thing exists before it comes out and not 6 months after it has already failed.

    • Wilma Flintstone

Tegra 2 is dual core. Not sure about the phone and other capability though as it’s not 100% guaranteed that this is the Dell Streak 7. Few more weeks and we shall see though.

“Could it be the Streak 7, or something more?” Seeing as how Dell is still selling devices that come with what 1.5? 1.6? out of the box I doubt they have whipped up anything with Honeycomb yet. HTC and Tmobile have a pretty good relationship so I would say our first Honeycomb tablet will be HTC made.

Nice wanna at least try it at the Tmo store. Its obvious by now what kind of tablet I’m waiting for (MEEGO) but I’ll definitely try this one out at the store. Keep it up Tmo and Thanks David and crew for bringing us the news.

Yeah, REAL obvious at this point! :-D

  • Wondercoolguy

wait it just dawned on me 2 hours later that this is a 3g device!!!! Why would any new device on TMO not come out 4g? They don’t charge extra for it. Dang it Dell you are making tablet/phones after my own heart but failing at doing it

Fuq Dell, after the shenanigans with the Dell Venue Pro, I’m done with them! I got my device yesterday after waiting 23 days and returning a wrong 8GB they sent me. Then they screwed around with my activation, today I found my phone crashing several times day. I finally just called them to return it, good riddance!
