T-Mobile Hosting Monday Night Event, Showcasing Latest In 4G

T-Mobile is promising to drop some “big, exciting” news tomorrow night at a Monday Night showcase during the @gigaom Mobilize Conference. T-Mobile sent out press invitations late last week promising to show off the latest in 4G devices. While our invitation is obviously lost in the mail we expect to finally get a “true” hands on with the Galaxy S II, perhaps see the HTC Amaze 4G, HTC Radar 4G, tablets and more. Of course we’re just speculating with what we might see but the odds are in our favor that we’ll see at least one of the aforementioned devices.

The event happens at 7:30pm West Coast time. We’ll update the blog as news releases!

The problem is, you were never with T-Mobile, were you? And if you were, what a bad move on your part over a phone! Tell Dan or Ivan to keep the lights on, daddy’s bringing home some EXTRA $$$$!

It would be nice to hear them annouce both the Hercules and the Amaze 4g. With practically the same specs besides the Hercules 4.5 inch screen the question now is do you want Touchwiz 4.0 or Sense 3.5. Both phones seem future proof… decisions decisions decisions

I just hope that T-Mobile tells us that the merger is off and AT&T can take a hike.

  • Tito!

If there’s only about 3-4 devices announced, I’d be annoyed. -.-

what T-Mobile needs to score is the HTC Runnymede, Samsung Galaxy Note, and Nexus Prime.
those phone’s seem orgasmic to me right now.

    • Idgaf

I agree Runnymede , nexus prime..

    • Guest

Prime is going to Verizon……   :(

      • Tito!

I’m thinking yes, the Prime will have a Verizon variant.

        there’s a DROID Prime & than there’s Nexus.
        everybody will have the Nexus.

    • George

It’s about quality, not quantity.  If you’re expecting a Nexus Prime announcement, you’ll be disappointed as Ice Cream Sandwich hasn’t even been officially announced yet.  I believe the Galaxy Note isn’t confirmed for the US yet.  And I hardly think a 4.7-inch “phone” is going to make or break them; customers are still undecided about the practicality of a 4.5-inch screen.  I’ll settle for the Hercules and Amaze being made available next month.  I feel their current dual-core offerings have critical flaws (MT4GS and Sensation with 1GB internal storage, G2X is unreliable with Gingerbread).  Hercules and Amaze would hopefully eliminate those concerns and at the same time give us an option between a 4.3″ and 4.5″ screen.

      • Tito!

        thanks genius! -.-

for telling me everything I already know. lol
No, I was not expecting anything of the sort.
I was simply saying those devices are on my bucketlist, & IF T-Mobile would like to hit two birds with one stone should probably be getting on that.
Why focus on one device, when knowing your audience wants another? is my point.

        wow. you’re a mcasshole you know that.haha.

Hope they announce the launch date for the Galaxy S2 and hopefully the date is before the rumored iPhone 10/4 unveiling so they can lock everyone into a new 2 year contract.

Honestly how are all of you happy and liking this, Tmo corporate just pulled the biggest heist, suckering everyone into the one day sale, come in buy everything stupid cheap, 2 yr lock up….and a day later announce all new devices and phone u cant upgrade to…or now ur stuck with the older phones, wow shame on tmobile……..dont get on here mad at me im a loyal tmo user and supporter, ive had them for almost 5 yrs now, but this is bull, ……..im off contract keeping my old grandfather plan going , if I dont see the gs2 release soon, or 4g wp 7s wit mango and wi fi calling, or the new nexus, ATT will be getting my business cuz idk I dont see tmo making it another two years

    • http://twitter.com/SParKlngCyaNide SparklingCyanide

I heard about this event days before they tweeted about it so a lot of us knew about this before the sale, maybe you didn’t but some did.

Why would you give up you grandfathered rate plan to go to ATT when ATT may come to you and you could keep your grandfathered rate plan?

new phones always come out…..constantly, frequently…..tmobile isnt screwing you by announcing or releasing new devices. you will never have the latest and greatest, bc theres always something around the corner…..we all deal with it

Apparently you! If you feel T-Mobile’s pulling BS, I guess you won’t be posting here anymore and if you do, it must be so you can spew out your disdain for the company. Whichever it is, cat’s out of the bag now! Right lubba?

I”m sure they will show the SGS2 and the HTC Radar.  Hopefully we’ll see the Galaxy Tab Plus( the 7in one.  Sorry folks the 7.7in model isn’t coming to the states) and another Mango device (something from Samsung based on the SGS2 like AT&Ts Focus S would be nice).  If the Radar is coming at a good price I might get it.  It is a better phone the the HD7.  I just wish the screen was 4in or better.

  • UMTSoverPCSplease

Someone at a T-Mobile store told me that Galaxy S 2 is coming on October 17. But that maybe for them employees only. I also hope that the news is that there won’t be a merger anymore.

  • http://twitter.com/SParKlngCyaNide SparklingCyanide

Well it had better be an announcement of more than just the htc Radar. I agree with others that they need too announce a few devices and a couple of them be high end not including the htc Ruby.

Bye Bye, I’m leaving to Verizon when the next iPhone is released.

      Why not GSII w/ Sprint?…

      • Anonymous

II wanted to go to sprint but 1 I prefer gsm and 2 everybody tells me how horrible sprint data network is. Youre leaving for the next iPhone? Wow. What phone do you have now?

        • Anonymous

I wanted to try sprint too, but I heard alot of complaints regarding data speeds, delay in text, and other stuff. I didn’t bother trying it… don’t want to go through the hassle of canceling and all that work.

Yeh, I been using the original vibrant for over a year now, and it was on the last toe, now I’m using my back-up iPhone 3g and waiting for the next one to come out. I a bit tired of android (especially the long wait of updating and the lag and all) and want something reliable and ease of use. I’m not really into customization, so it’s not that quite important to me. The GSII looks very promising and I like the spec and all, but since it’s from Samsung, I don’t want to go through w/ the update delays. lol.

        • Anonymous

I hear u I had the vibrant and I hated Samsung because of the updates. I think the GSII will b another story.

        • Jeryfrias

You should consider pulling your vibrant back out and installing Miui, i was tires of my vibrant too till i installed miui it brought new life to a dead phone.

I knew it.  The sale this weekend was mainly to get rid of the old stock.  Oh well, bad luck for the gullible.  It doesn’t matter.  If they don’t have anything silmilar to the HTC Titan, I’m done with Tmo.  I have many uses for Wp7 and a mid-range 3.8″ sreen Radar is not gonna cut it.

    • Bill Gates

Really interested in how MS is getting people to pimp the DOA WP7 platform. Very amusing. Oh, well, different strokes for different folks, as they say.

    • http://twitter.com/mlococo Michael Lococo

yeah that phone is lame!  The Titan screen size is good but the rest of the specs still seem out of date,  We need aWindows Phone just like the Samsung Note.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2K5TCSPGRIQID4IWGAH7LYVMXY lubba

I’ve heard even without the super specs like android, wp7 is very fast.  Also if I’m right, 1Gz proccessor doesn’t mean its last years proccessor.  And from what I’ve read first takes from tech sites, HTC Titan’s screen seems very good!  So with that said, don’t get caught and be dragged down by the Andorid spec wars.  Apparently they need the super specs to run smooth and it seems that specs is the major selling point for android.

        • n900mixalot

          It is EXTREMELY fast.

      …WP7?

yuck! I yet haven’t seen anyone use a WP7… it’s either android or iOS. no demand for WP7.

          The truth hurts huh?…

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2K5TCSPGRIQID4IWGAH7LYVMXY lubba

Na!  Its only been one year for wp7.  There’s no hurt.  Besides, its only one troll’s opinion.  In my experience with wp7, I’ve noticed many buy Android and Apple because everyone else has it, and they are established (ahead in the game).  I’ve shown my HD7 to many and they have no clue what it is or does, meaning they never seen it.  Your head clickin petey07?  Believe me there are people using wp7 and there is excitement for the OS. The problem is, there are not many devices supporting it.  But this quarter and next year may show a different picture.

        • Anonymous

I thought WP7 is out more than a year?… nvm.

Usually, I take the train to work during rush hour and never saw anyone held a WP7 phone. You’re right, most people get what everyone has… maybe due to what others have experience or recommendation.

The WP7 doesn’t excites me. I try to give it a chance, but it’s not for me.

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2K5TCSPGRIQID4IWGAH7LYVMXY lubba

If you like things simple and integrated, you’ll love wp7.  But if you desire all that changing, twisting, manipulating, clicking and looking and reading manuals to know what your doing or what happens when you do it, you’ll love android.  And if you’re one who does what the media and tech nerds tell you, you’ll love the iphone.

        • Anonymous

I like the last part… lol I’ll jailbreak it and have fun with it. lol!

I may give WP7 another try when they’re more mature.

          Good deal…:-)

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2K5TCSPGRIQID4IWGAH7LYVMXY lubba

Its a piece of sh**t I’ved enjoyed since the first day I bought it.  If you don’t stuff sh**t in peoples mouths, they won’t know what it is or what its like.  So did my part.

  • Sfa

shameful tmobile after trapping customers with that crappy sale on saturday you have the audacity to laugh in their faces by dropping this bomb. Serious no respect to their customers

    • Chrisangel13

yes, how dare they release new devices. maybe they should wait every two years to release a new phone so people like you won’t have to b1tch and moan about new releases during the duration of your contract. or maybe you could stop complaining and just be happy with what you got because no one forced you to upgrade in the first place… and btw, it’s called clearing out inventory, which is a very COMMON business practice for manufactures who would rather not end up with hundreds of warehouses of unwanted items just because a big portion of consumers have to have the latest and greatest so they look over said products even though they may be quite good, i.e, HTC Sensation & MyTouch 4G Slide, which like it or not are T-Mobile’s flagship phones right now, and for good reason.

    • Quit Whinning

Ever heard of a buyers remorse period?  Furthermore it’s not as if you wasted your upgrade discount this weekend.  If you took advantage of the promotion you paid full cost for the device.  Now if you switched from a grandfathered plan to a Value plan them yes you are hosed (no buyer’s remorse for rate plan changes…unless you can get the store manager to call care and say it was a “mistake”.)

  • http://cosmicbreeze.tumblr.com/ DtheArtist

Even thou it’s a mid-tier device, I wanna see the HTC Radar 4G. Android is Android we’ve seen & got a lot of that. We need to see a variety of everything else, at least that’s what I would prefer to see. If my Android ran more smooth, I wouldn’t mind seeing the other Android devices, but I think I’m off Android for now.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CNT4STRR32F4334TXB65VVNT3Y Rampage

Galaxy S2 FTW, I just hope the battery can handle the 4.5 inch screen long enough.

    • Anonymous

The battery is a 1850 Mah battery. It should be perfect.

  • Nearmsp

It is likely that the iPhone 5 will not be a 4G device. That means because of the statement “-Mobile sent out press invitations late last week promising to show off the latest in 4G devices”, this will unlikely be an announcement that T-mobile is also getting an iPhone.

    • Anonymous

I think most people lost doubt that T-Mobile will not be carrying the next iPhone (or probably never?… but they say… never say never).

Apple probably isn’t going to put LTE yet, but they may put HSPA+ since it’s more mature than LTE… who knows… *shrugs*

    • Dvaughn88

T-MOBILE IS NOT GETTING THE IPHONE 5 IN 2011 PERIOD!  GET OVER IT! Do you read the articles on this sight or just look at the pictures?!

      • Nearmsp

Can you please give me the web link for “this sight”? I read all articles on this “sight” and as well on other “sights”. I will only believe if iPhone will/will not be released on T-mobile  after an official announcement. Until then, I will hope that after almost 4 years, T-mobile may finally get a version of iPhone (4S?) at least. Until then I will continue my out of contract status with my Blackberry which I have come to hate.

      • Anonymous

There’s an estimated 1 MILLION iPhone users on tmobile.
That is a CONSIDERABLE audience so I can see how it would benefit tmobile to get an iPhone 5 4G. Those 1 million may also be eligible for an upgrade do

If you broke people want an icrap stfu and switch to another carrier already, fucking people are mad annoying with that lame ass phone. Or better yet, get a lovely Android phone on T-Mobile, go to Walmart and buy a stupid ipod touch, problem fixed, best of both worlds, but i bet you stop using that ipod after you learn what all the fuss is all about with the Galaxy S2.

  • Anonymous

Having seen the upcoming Vigor pics and specs, the SGS2 and Amaze come close but Vigor beats them with the 1280×720 display and amazing design, best looking phone since HD2.
To  add insult to injury, soon after the Vigor, the Nexus Prime comes out, Sprint will probably subsidize it like the Nexus S. What will T-Mo do? Buy a new dress for Carly, most likely.

And if you think we are hurting for good phones now, it will get worse, wait til the quad core phones arrive the and usual delay that we have to wait out whenever something awesome is rolled out elsewhere. Like the long wait for dual core, or the wait for the first 4.3″ Android phone.
