Blackberry Curve 9360 Dummy Phones Arrive, Launch Still Unknown

We’ve seen the pamphlet, the prepaid poster and we’ve seen a leaked release date that has come and gone and still we don’t know when the Blackberry Curve 9360 will launch. While we await an official announcement T-Mobile retail stores began receiving dummy units this morning which is a typical precursor to actual demo units arriving shortly thereafter. We aren’t going to learn much through these images but they do give you a pretty good idea as to what a T-Mobile Curve 9360 will look like.

This phone will not bring them many, if any, new BlackBerry customers…maybe some upgrades from old models. Oh well…another waste.

whats wrong with you ppl? thats the rim blackberry trademark look, of course its gonna look the same with a slightly new look, i love blackberry and going back to it

Don’t get me wrong, I like my 9700 – It has great battery life, UMA, and is rock solid. But, I cannot blindly consider every BB to be perfect. This one is far from it. Where is the UMA support? where is the nice large touchscreen? Where are the free apps? Does it sport NFC? A really great camera? How about a FFC?

This phone is fine if we were in 2006, but it doesn’t offer anything compelling, and cannot compete against phones that other manufacturers are currently releasing.

Things should get better over time, not worse.

Sigh. I just looked up the specs of the Bold 4G, but it too does not have anything that I’ve listed above.
          - no UMA
          - no large touchscreen
          - no NFC
          - no FFC
          - no great camera

Just another Blackberry like all the rest.
