Has anyone else had and issue with their battery loosing it’s charger quicker in the past few days? It seems like as of a few days ago my battery hasn’t been keeping up nearly like it used to.

    • Yeah right?

Carl I had this issue yesterday morning.  I don’t know what caused it.  But my phone went from 100% @ 6:40AM to 40% when I looked @ it near 10AM the same day.  I rebooted the phone when I noticed it.  Got a full charge from there and haven’t had a problem since.  I too was shocked when it happened but I am fine now.

Let me just let you all know of my opinion. Our local LG rep “claims” the os is “vanilla” which means its straight stock (and claimed that about froyo 2.2) which was originally loaded on the device. They asked us to pull stock, and we didnt get shipped new ones for well over a month. Then they come back saying gingerbread “vanilla” is on it, and all issues are fixed. Dont believe the hype. Its hard for me to believe that stock froyo makes phones misbehave its present on more than half of the smartphones out right now, and gingerbread stock just fixed the issues. PLEASE I want a teardown to prove that this is a new hardware revision so they can basically be put on the chopping block for rushing hardware out.

The LG version of 2.2 is most definitely not stock 2.2.  I have CM now so I don’t know about their Gingerbread, but I’m sure it’s also not stock.  Froyo that came on the G2x was actually LGs customized Froyo build with a vanilla skin on it.  I would expect the same for Gingerbread, but certainly can’t say for sure.

The new G2x they sent me over a week ago came with GB preloaded and it’s been flawless. Battery life is very good too, and I have a Nexus One with 2.3.4 that has incredible battery life to compare it to. The stupid telenav is still here, so I stop it from running after startup. I manually updated the market to the newest version too, and that works great.

With GB, and at 10 hrs on battery, I am at 88%. Is that so bad?

Since Gingerbread my battery life has hit the dumpers. I lose 20% an hour with very little running in the background. I would love to sell this and get something else. Anyone interested email me oldirishfireman@gmail.com

Updated with LG updater yesterday at work (OTA update never came.)

WOW. My G2x feels a lot better now. I love the Gingerbread UI. Looks great.

I love that the unlock screen pops up quicker and I can go straight to sliding the unlock bar rather than waiting that awkward half a second. Also, I can start flipping through screens a lot quicker after unlocking instead of, again, waiting that weird half second where it just won’t respond.

I couldn’t tell the full story of the battery life yesterday because I had it fully charged halfway through the day to do the update and didn’t get to see how long it lasted.

Going through menus feels more responsive and I like the scrolling feel a lot more too.

Haven’t had any random reboots (the night before I updated, my phone just shut off in the middle of the night and thus I missed my alarm and slept in… grrr.)

Anyway, really excited about this update. Makes it feel like a new, fully functional phone. FINALLY.

Can’t zoom in on my emails anymore, can’t click and highlight words on swype to correct them, and no way to turn off the sound from the camera. A few things I found weird and annoying about the update. :/
