myTouch 4G Slide Sign Up Page Emerges

So you are liking the looks of the myTouch 4G slide and are eagerly awaiting its eventual release?  If that’s you, then listen up.  T-Mobile has posted the myTouch 4G Slide page  with a nice little ‘notify me’ section.  It also looks like this phone will go for (as low as) $199.99 (with a 2 year agreement and qualifying rate plan) sometime in July.  Go to the dedicated page to learn all the little details about the newest member of the myTouch family.  We are still thinking that you can pick this thing up on July 27th, but keep it here for further details!

    Cool…
The specs still don’t list Internal Memory (ram and rom).  I’ve read rumors, but I’d like to see something official in writing.

Nice dig.. Thanks for the link..

#randomthought I’m not knocking the phone but two things make me scratch my head about this phone and I guess this goes to HTC, why so much head room that could be screen and why no dedicated number row? Still a nice phone though and I must say I do miss a trackball/trackpad I think that spec is under rated nowadays.

I’ll agree about missing a trackball, loved the one my old mytouch 3G used to have, but don’t know what else you’re talking about. The slide does have a trackpad, just like to original mytouch 4G.

I was talking about my phone and just about every other phone that comes out these days not having a trackball.

Ah,  thought you were talking about the slide.  Totally agree with you. The lack of trackball/trackpad coupled with physical buttons being eschewed for capacitive buttons is more of a detriment than anything.

I’m gonna bring in my mytouch 4G and tell them, “Something is wrong with my slide, the keyboard won’t come out. Can I exchange it for another?”, because I live in a world of wishful thinking.

    • The Architect (of the Matrix)

*hilarious*.. I have to try that!.. lol

i am flustered by the hard keys and the static Icons at the bottom. Looks like a samsung production even though I know it is HTC.

    no headphones?
    WHY!
    hurry 27th mytouch 3g 1.0 is dying

    • jarjon76

Headphones can be had, and very cheaply. Besides, most headphones that come with phones are average at best, so you’re better off buying your own.

I am confused, are the HDR capabilties a software or a hardware feature?

    • Anonymous

Pretty sure it’s software, similar to what they do on the iPhone 4

      • Mark Cardona

does this mean, the sensation may be able to be altered to produce the same hdr pics??? I am just really loving the screen and build of the sensation is all.

This website has been active for a couple weeks. . . nice “news”

the mytouch 4g sucks i fix  phones all day and that phone has the most problems. Hope they do better on this one. but at the end of  the day HTC makes to many phones to keep up with on updates so alot of android and windows users suffer. also android in general has to many bugs.

  • Kevinmarchibald

Interesting. That HTC spec link shows 4GB internal flash storage. The unboxing video’s caption says there’s 1GB. What’s the right answer? How much RAM will it have? Sensation supposedly has 768MB. Is it really HSPA 21.1+ or 14.4+ like the Sensation? HSPA+ battery usage is supposedly lower than LTE, so the argument could be made that the the performance/battery tradeoff is worth it to go with T-Mobile and HSPA+ rather than say Verizon. Wonder if the case is as strong with HSPA 42.2+? Looking like the Hercules platform may be similar to the Sensation and Slide, but with 42.2+. Not sure if I should wait for the Hercules for that theoretically higher Mbps but likely higher battery usage.

Wow, I know people with the thunder bolt and when they enter the area I live they connect to 4g and there battery only lasts 5 hours sometimes a little more. I have the my touch 4g and the battery in my phone is smaller but yet I get great battery life compared to them doing the same exact things.

The HTC spec link says that RAM is 768MB.
As for the size of internal storage, seems like a spec (i.e., 4GB) on the phone-manufacturer’s website is more-likely to be correct than a caption on a YT video from a retailer.
