I like the design aesthetic of the G2X a lot better…but the reboots and overheating are really starting to bother me.

Hopefully the people that buy this phone won’t have to deal with problems like that…but just to be safe, anyone who wants this should give it a few weeks…I made the mistake of buying the G2X the day it came out…and now I’m really upset about it

    • TypicalWhitePerson

Yeah your right, ppl should wait awhile before purchasing the Sensation to see if there’s any reports of technical issues regarding the device. But that G2x phone was a FAIL from the beginning. Sucks for you! Lol

      • jarjon76

They’ll be problems with the Sensation, just like they are problems with virtually every new smartphone. The real question is will said problems be major or minor and what will HTC and T-Mobile do to fix any and all issues that pop up.

        • None

I don’t mind the software problems because they usually get ironed out.  It is the physical ones that really stink.  We can only hope for software problems being the worst.

        • jarjon76

Same here. Software issue are going to happen, esp with these new high end phones.

I bought G2X day one and returned it due to issues yo umentioned, now I am buying sensation day, some people never learn :)

Then again I bought G1 and G2 day one and both were excellent phones with no issues, so I blame LG

      • Anonymous

Bought the G2X day one and it’s been the best phone I’ve ever owned. I have never seen a phone so smooth and fast. I haven’t had any reboots, freezes or lag. I feel like I won the lottery being I got such a good G2X and hearing everyone else’s horror stories. However I will be giving the G2X to my Wife after the SGSII variant hits T-Mobile. I was going to go with the Sensation but it’s not a upgrade to the G2X (as long as you got a good one).

SAME HERE…but heres the deal guys…after i had these issues i looked around on day 2 on the web and guess what…i went to android central and i saw a forrum post on the g2x when it was released in Europe a month before ours. Heres what they said and i quote ” This G2x is having rebooting issues and screen bleeding, man..i hope LG fixes these issues before the US launch in a month from now”. Hows that make u guys feel. I was fuckin pissed! So i checked the forums again and im not finding any issues in europe with this phone yet so i think its safe to say we r good. but then again who fuckin knows.

You obviously didn’t look hard enough or you are just a HTC fanboy trolling away. I just looked at the first page of the Sensation forum on XDA and he is a list of the problems people are having with the Sensation:

        1) Display has a greenish yellow tint and whites appear almost grey.

        2) When watching a video, the audio cuts out at the 2 minute mark.

        3) Bad reception. There is a thread on XDA that has 12 pages of people complaining about it. Some have tried multiple units and multiple SIM cards.

        4) Dust under the screen.

        5) The LED notification is so dim it shouldn’t even be there. Everyone says you can’t even see it unless your in a room that is pitch black. Some are even saying it’s not working at all until others tell them to go into the bathroom and turn the lights out.

        6) Phone is rebooting after taking a picture.

        7) Swype is not recognizing traces properly.

        8) Phone is getting very hot.

        9) Some people having bad battery problems

        10) Bluetooth audio quality is bad and sounds distorted over multiple devices.

Well, it only took me 10 minutes to find 10 problems. I only picked out the problems that multiple people were having. Good luck to everyone who buys the Sensation. Your going to need it.

        • jarjon76

Did the folks who made the Sensation insult your mother? I ask because you seem awfully touchy about this phone. Relax, it’s just a phone.

        • Rasdon

For EACH problem u posted, only ONE person posted a problem.. ur obviously trying to pick out every little prob.

The phone NEVER gets hot!  my friend has it and he neverhas this problem, he said BATTERY IS AMAZING,  he said swype works and it never rebooted while takin  a pic, he has no dust under screen and receptiuon is great.. dude sorry your g2x sucks!!

        • Anonymous

Like I said. I picked out problems that I saw multiple people having. If you would like me to post threads I will.

        • Mandi

dude i have the sensation and the screen is perfect! my battery lasts for 2 days! my phone never gets hot and it never reboots! i never had any of these problems! lol u look like a g2x or sg2 fanboy!

I like the design of the Sensation much better than  the G2X, which I own.  The G2X looks too similar to all the other rectangle slabs.

  • Ktwist

Maybe the cellphone fairy will bring me one if I put the pic under my pillow:)

  • qwak

is june 26th the date when sensation goes on sale for $150??
and if this isn’t true, how much discount will father’s day do to the sensation??

    • mmeyer4663

Where did you get that price and date?
Everything so far points to no later than June 15 and $199 with $50 MIR.
BTW, the no later than date implies that some TMO stores might get it before the 15th, like the 8th maybe.  Wishful thinking on my part.

      • Anonymous

I was actually told June 8th they would be in store by a t mobile employee today.  So I would check into that at your local t mobile store.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1578965964 Erik Robert

I spoke with someone at T-Mobile last week and the employee confirmed that they would be changing their plans ( i didn’t see a difference from what he told me and what was already on the site) and that the Sensation would be at the store on June 8th.  My wife and I are going to wait til Father’s Day or whenever they announce their sale.  Last year any phone no matter how new was free on June 19th with a new 2 year contract.  I think I can hold off one more week to save a shit load of money if that’s the case.

    • Anonymous

I haven’t heard about a Sale for the Sensation yet.  Surely that would piss a lot of people off who bought the phone less than two weeks prior.  There would be a lot of people coming back asking for the $50 difference.

    • k-mack

yeah, june 15th is the date.

    • Aerofanbig

I think you misunderstood. Its not 199$ and then a 50$ rebate, its 249$ then a 50$ rebate for a grand total of 199$

      • Anonymous

I believe he’s asking about a Sale ON the phone, not when the phone is FOR sale.  I hope.

  • JayeJaye

I honestly can’t wait to get this phone.!

    • Mjj2515

Dude, you and me both! lol I was pissed when I seen it’s being release on the 15th and not the 8th. I am soo flipping ready for this phone!

      • chris

I played with a demo of the sensation at a t-mobile store. Good lord this phone is gorgeous. It’s so thin. High quality materials. Fast as all get out. This is THE phone to own. I’m telling you ladies and gentleman you will not be disappointed.

        • Deff

and call in the next 15 minutes, and we’ll send you TWO! hats right count em, TWO! only for 19.95. Call now!

people are claiming that the phone too fat for some reason! i got my case off ebay and looks like its gonna be a good size, a tiny tiny tiny bit thicker than the hd2. the screen is a tiny bit thinner than my hd2′s but the same length.

ya got my case early, but worth saving 20 bucks at a retail store. or those overpriced kiosks at the mall!

      • JayeJaye

Me too man.! I’m ready to retire Wima( my myTouch 3G Slide) Lol

  • xnifex

Did anyone ever get any type of emails from signing up on the HTC site for more info when they first put their page up?

    • Anonymous

      Nope, didn’t receive any notification.

      • Deff

me either. been waiting eagerly for 2 months… gimmie a discount or something -.-

        • None

Spoken like a true TMO customer!  HaHa!

  • Osama

My G2x works fine and also is 2 times faster compared to HTC sensation the benchmark scores is on YouTube for everybody, I got one on my store yesterday, the 3D games looks much better on G2x,I like the Camera, but one more time the G2x stock is better, the only thing I say this is cool: the display size!!! Good lucky guys!!!!

    • Kareem810

Just give it time your g2x will crap out just like the rest of ‘em

    • eYe

At certain point, benchmarks don’t matter anymore.  What does matter is now usable the device is in real life.  As a die-hard “vanilla” android fanatic, I can say that I’m pleased with Sense 3.0 and I’m not even sure that I will root it.  I think replacement launcher and minor tweaks will do it for me.  I only hope that I comes out earlier then 15th.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Christian-Sandoval/100001043919220 Christian Sandoval

im seeing that tmobile is actually launching it last for some reason, and more expensive too! target and walmart are rumored on the 12 or something

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Christian-Sandoval/100001043919220 Christian Sandoval

i have had tons of phones and can honestly say that htc= reliable. have u seen all the complaints and problems with the g2x, ur just one of the lucky ones that got a good device. i cant wait for the sensation, it should have the bootloader unlocked (from what ive read). so we will be able to put stock android too!! and improve performance and its gonna poop on ur ugly lopsided g2x.

      • Anonymous

I agree, and I have the G2X.  Never had any problems with my G1 or Nexus One.  G2x for sale!

      • Uglyalien

        HTC Employee…

1GB of internal storage….What a joke!. I can’t even fit half of my apps on there. I have 4 Gameloft games that I play all of the time and they need more space than just one measly GB. Welcome to 2011 HTC! Now give me at least 4GB of internal storage.

    • Anonymous

It kind of sucks, however I’m a bit surprised anyone even uses that much internal storage anymore.  Since I had the G1 (which had a minuscule amount of space), I always root and transfer everything to the SD card.

      • Anonymous

I also root and put all apps to ext sd. My Nexus One has about 80 apps and still has over 150 mb left on it’s int memory. Thank God for root and my Nexus One. There should be more int. memory on these very expensive phones. How much more $$ would it cost to throw a few mb of int memory on a device?? It shows me that the techs who design these phones sure as hell are not using them. More memory is a must on todays high end phones. Just my Opinion.

        • Xboarder56

the gameloft games and most large games store there data on the sd card so the 1gb android games from gameloft like nova 2 will put just the small app on you r main phone like 20mb and the other 900mb on your sd card

    • Anonymous

Agreed. The MT4G (made by HTC) came with 4GB internal storage 7 months ago. Why go backwards from that? I shuttle several micro SDHC cards around so I want to put my apps on internal storage. Now I’ll have to wait for Samsung Hercules in September or Nexus 3 around Christmas to upgrade. For me it’s a deal breaker to have small internal storage, especially if you’re going to add bloatware and a custom UI overlay skin (Sense 3.0).

I am not liking the funky contour screens on some phones lately.  Unless you use Zagg (which I do not care for–too sticky feeling) you cannot get a screen protector on there very well.  This one looks like is may not fit one at all.  I realize screen protection is becoming a thing of the past but these things are hella expensive when buying off contract and even small scratches take a lot off the resale value.  I want a flat screen!
And can you please make it an iPhone? (JOKING)

What the rock is cooking? Those sites were selected by the ad network based on overall coverage of the product.

That’s how Phandroid got the invite?

      • http://tmonews.com David

That’s how all of the sites were selected. The sites that are hosting the event were picked for a reason, not at random. We don’t cover the Galaxy Tab 10.1 so we didn’t get an invite and we’re on the same ad network.

  • Gator9422

i just called 3 stores near my house and they all said theres no specific date…wow tmobile how professional one guy said a month and a half ahahahahaha…deff getting this phone the day it comes out but its funny how local stores have no idea of the releae date..and i hate the ppl who wirte about the s2 this is for the sensation..btw touchwiz sucks and htc sense is far more advanced
