It’s been a while since we’ve heard any news regarding the Samsung Hercules so we’re happy to bring you a Hercules story tonight. The Samsung T989 just received Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certification and we have reason to believe that the T989 may be the upcoming Samsung Hercules. We’re not going to find any new information on the Hercules through these certifications but their recent filing dates gives us hope that the phone is on track for a possible August/September release date. Now all we need is some Mr. Blurrycam images, specs, pricing, release date and we are set. Stay tuned for more!

I’d like for this to be the rumored Hercules because it had a abominable set of specs anyone would like to get their easily on. Things like a 4.5″ AMOLED Display, dual-core CPU, Android 2.3 and more.

    Thanx for the article.

“Sure, it’ll sell, but I don’t think we’re going to see those amazing numbers that Samsung reported just a short time ago” and “A new Nexus… Samsung software updates…”

Those points are important to me because it REALLY doesn’t matter if GSII sales end up lower than anticipated. As long as they sell it, IDGAF and I don’t think Samsung will decide not to sell just because there is fierce competition out at launch.

And the 2nd thing I’ve really struggled with. If I buy say, the Hercules in Sept. and then a couple months later ICS is released and completely awesome and buttonless like the N9 then I can’t be mad at anyone but my self for not waiting it out.

My Vibrant has been sitting Gingerbread free without even a peep about an upgrade for now 7 months!! I’m almost certain that IF a ICS update will come to the GSII gen. then it will take about 7-9 months for it to come to the “T-Mobile Hercules” if it even does. !@#$ there may not be a T-Mobile before the Sep/Oct released Hercules gets an update…

That said, it would still make for an awesome $200-250 portable media player!
