T-Mobile Plans 4G Tablet For 2011

Looks like T-Mobile is feeling a little left out of all the 4G tablet talk as I just received this brief quote in my inbox:

“T-Mobile is working closely with the majority of our OEM partners to deliver 4G products by integrating HSPA+ into roadmaps in 2011 as the dominant global standard.  Consumers will continue to see HSPA+ fuel future innovation in a variety of mobile consumer electronics from smartphones and tablets to emerging devices. T-Mobile will continue to be at the forefront of wireless innovation, delivering an aggressive 4G product lineup in 2011, including 4G tablets.”

With CES right around the corner there is anticipation that tablets, specifically those of the Android kind will be heavily show cased and I’m betting T-Mobile wants in on the fun. I don’t imagine we’ll see a branded T-Mobile offering then but hopefully soon after T-Mobile will begin to outline plans for its 2011 lineup, which hopefully include HSPA+ tablets. Just imagine a tablet with the capability to run HSPA+ 42Mbps, which would be super! You have my attention Magenta, show us some more tablet love!

The GTab is not shining as bright compered to others like the Notion Adam Ink. Lets see what comes in Q1 2011.

    Stay thirsty my friends!

Waiting on that windows 7 tablet in my case, makes much more sense to me for a tablet than android or iPad.

they kinda have then already hp makes a lap top with a touch screen that turns completely around so u can use it as all touch screen or use it with a keyboard and it has a Surface acoustic wave touch screen which from my understanding is way better then Capacitive

        • Anonymous

Yeah but those ones are hella expensive though.

      • remix

the only thing that scares me about windows 7 tablets is they dont work right. go into a best buy and u will find touch screen windows 7 home computers.. which would be the same thing for the most part… and u will see nothing but calibration issues and more. i played with one. it didnt work worth a crap. an os built for touch from the ground up works much better than one that has touch “implemented”, even if it has more features.

OH GOD PLEASE LET IT BE THIS TABLET!!!!

If Tmo gets that Tablet, I would literally have to buy a new wardrobe due to the stains in my pants. I’d go to the store, buy one (or maybe even two) full price, show it off to everybody I know and get Tmo LOADS of revenue and new customers. Come on Tmo, you absolutely MUST get this tablet. The Support behind the OS is already incredibly Strong:

    1. BMW Group
    2. Delphi (146,600 employee automotive part company, Biggest GM supplier)
    3. GM
    4. Intel
    5. AMD
    6. NOKIA
    7. Magneti Marelli (Fiat Groups’s hightech Subsidiary)
    8. PSA Peugeot Citroën
    9. Visteon (A Subsidiary company to Ford Motors)
    10. Wind River Systems, Inc.

and more and it’s just getting started. Then to add to it, it’s going to have interchangeable apps between the different OS’es. This will be an awesome Tablet. Tmo needs to slap HSPA+ on this Tablet and subsidize it. Come on Tmo, get this Tablet.

Sorry, I tried to post the link but kept getting an “Object Object” error from Disqus. The Tablet I’m referring to is the Intel Moorestown Tablet running Meego (Complete Linux) OS with Meego 1.0 Tablet UI.

Youtube “Meego Tablet” and it’ll come up. It’s an early version so I expect some changes before it comes out but it’s looking really good already.

I would like to see a MyTouch Tab or a Stock Android tab by HTC…The gSpot perhaps?

    • Wilma Flintstone

Why is it every article I read on this site I have already read somewhere else. No real ninjas. No real breaking news, not even for T-Mobile. Don’t worry trolls, I won’t be back.

“No real breaking news, not even for T-Mobile.”
Since this is a TMo specific site, the first part of your comment makes no sense. Second, if you find a site that can post the same information a few minutes faster than this one, go for it. I guess being the very FIRST person on the web to find out that TMo *plans* on launching a 4G tablet in 2011 does not mean that much to me.
Here is some breaking news that I hope David will pick up – TMo is planning on launching *many* new handsets next year including the iPhone though the iPhone discussions are still “in discussion”.

Woah really? Ok, go find a site that posts T-Mobile news faster than this one, we break most of the T-Mobile news on the web, I’d never claim all because that wouldn’t be true. No real ninjas? Wow, what are you smoking, I want some.

Why is it every ungrateful reader fails to appreciate that there is more to tech news than just the speed at which it is reported? What people always seem to forget is that *perspective* is often more important and more helpful than just shouting out everything you hear faster than everyone else.

    • Andy

      Ignorant as downed palm tree.

  • Anonymous

Well well well…look what we have here. and i’m soo in. let’s go T-Mobile. If I can get speeds really really really REALLY close to 42mbps, I’d cancel my internet plan and roll with T-Mobile.

    • Anonymous

And if they uncapped it because if you use it as a replacement you will easily reach 5gb’s

  • mytouchgirl

David i LOVE the cat picture <3

  • oakie

yeah. I really don’t want or need to be nickel and dimed with a third data plan on T-Mobile.

hurry up with a solution like a Novatel Mi-Fi with support for HSPA+ so us multiple device users can consolidate our data accounts into a single device that serves all our devices simultaneously. it’s sad the TMO is so proudly tooting their “FauxG” horn yet are still making it difficult for their users to take advantage of it. T-Mobile is ridiculously behind the curve on this one.

    • F_angel77

dude, a MiFi is no different. It still requires an extra data plan. And who the heck needs a MiFi anyways. Get an androidphone, get it rooted, and use the free wifi-tether offered by google. And since the tablets run android, u can make the tablet a big mifi adapter too. So i dont think its Tmobile that is behind the curve, i think its you.

  • Findone22000

i could almost hear it now peaple calling tmobile to findout why thay dont have the so called 4g in there town, true you can go buy your tablet but you will only get hspa 3g.

  • Cpdaep01

Isn’t that when the Blackberry Playbook is suppose to come out? Maybe it’ll go to Tmobile! I shall keep my fingers crossed! That would be most awesome!
