Hope this is not just for new people and this works for upgrades as well…

i highly doubt this is for upgrades. Shoot tmo.com was doing free G2′s on black friday but it was for new customers only. i tried to pick one up for my sister but it was a no go

  • Deceptivesmiles

Nope, not likely. We don’t get the perks like that, (existing Tmo customers that is)

  • Julia

nope they’re both still 199 for upgrade

    • BGK

Phew! I just bought yesterday at Radio Shack (existing Tmo customer 199.00). I was feeling dizzy with bitterness. I liked that Radio Shack didn’t do the mail in rebate thing like the T-Mobile stores and other mall retailers. And I paid the premium over the Amazon price for instant gratification. Plus, Amazon has that extra 250.00 ETF-like fee over the first 6 months. I can’t imagine canceling, but I just didn’t like that part of the contract.

  • Bbrowne

With all these sweet deals out but for new contracts only, I’m starting to feel left out by T-Mobile. Shouldn’t we rewarded for being loyal to them? I haven’t seen any of these great deals for existing customers. They don’t pay much attention to existing customers and pretend we won’t jump ship. I’ve been with them for six years, but haven’t upgraded my phone once because when I put all the prices and fees together, it’s better for me to buy my phones off ebay than get it from the store. Sad, Magenta.

    • Mtnman

I agree Bbrowne: why wouldn’t Tmo want to reward us as customers for being loyal for all these years. Sticking by them when they wasn’t exactally the greatest phone company out there? Now that they’re starting to turn the corner and get their act together, shouldn’t we as customers be rewarded as well?

    • Onospam

obviously its a radioshack ad so radioshack is offering that promo not t-mobile, and if u dont know indirect dealers make the most commission from new lines and also the 1st and 2nd line of a family plan.

    • Jthomas73184

hey if you go to amazon you get better deals. i just upgraded my wife to a mytouch 4g and only paid 119. no tax and free 2 day shipping. also if you get charged the 18 upgrade fee just call tmobile and they will remove it for you

    • Rob

Why I’ve been using best buy for upgrades. I got the Cliq when it first came out on a handset upgrade and a 2 year extension for $100. They had the MT4G for 99 when I got the Nexus S Thursday. T-mobiles online store is very misleading. I went to get a G2 on a Cyber Monday deal which had it free. Didn’t state for new customers. Was on the phone and they wouldn’t give it to me for free, would have cost me about 150 after all the fees.

New customers, more money. Unfortunately, their not concerned about existing customers because they know its highly unlikely that you’ll leave. Plain and simple.

Why would the plural form of Bluetooth have an apostrophe? It wouldn’t, shouldn’t, and doesn’t. Step it up,Tmonews.

Its certainly not Bluetoothes or Blueteeth, and it is “bluetooth’s” or “bluetooth headsets” because its a product, how about you go back to school and learn omething before you make yourself look stupid again. Pish, trying to correct grammar when you are the one whose grammar needs correcting.

Also if you want to play that crap you are playing on college level your “wouldn’t, shouldn’t, and doesn’t” are incorrect. It should be would not, should not, and does not! With that previous statement said, shut up Yawnt.

Not sure what you guys/gals are talking about… I called 611 and upgraded to new MT4G for $100 total (after shipping, upgrade fee and mail-in rebate). Sounds about right in line with this deal ($79+18 activation) except for that I got it the first week MT4G came out.
On the other hand, I was hoping that this phone would help me with my data connection problems but no. Apparently, my 2yr old G1 can stream music just as good (or just as bad) as my brand new phone, it’s T-mo signal that sucks. Same thing with my wife’s G2 which we picked up for $150 when she was less then a year into her contract (yeah.. she had a Cliq and that POS wasn’t cutting it).
Point is: prices are fine, deals are out there, killer phones are available as well now. Now, just make that data consistent through out the state, not just in downtown area, and you have a customer for life. However, if my coverage is as inconsistent as it right now – I will have to look into other options.

wow lame today t-mobile mytouch 4g was for $30.. sadly i couldnt buy it :’(

  • LBdaMercenary

Anyone knw when the htc dlna adapter is going to be released?

  • Chill137ks

Its really funny that people still think they are getting a “cheaper” deal on the phone. if you sign up on or extend for another 2 years u are paying an extra $20.00 a month compared to some1 on the even more plus plan which is $20.00 a month cheaper….why u ask….that “FREE” or whatever the discounted price is u will make up by 20.oo extra per month on your plan cause u are pay full boat for the phone…do the math

    • BGK

I agree that subsidies should really be called ‘loans’, which they claw back over the contract. But really, since they’ve ditched their 2-tiered individual plan pricing the math says that it’s better to get a subsidy than not get a subsidy. The data price isn’t any less if you buy outright without a contract or not. If you don’t want data, there’s no reason to have these phones.

Doesn’t matter! The radio shack employees hounded me to buy the Evo for $199.99 instead of the MyTouch4G for $79.99. I asked him why? and what is the difference? He couldnt tell me………..SMH @ commission hungry sales reps

  • Aimconstruction

Persistence pays off!!! After being told that 149.00 was the best deal possible then in the same breath offered a by one get deal for 199.00. Was finally offered two G2′s for the whopping price of 28 dollars for expedited shipping. Able to keep our no longer offered data plans and waived upgrade fees. Appreciate the heads up thats was a no brainer!
