Motorola DEFY Page is Live!

T-Mobile is on a roll!  Let’s take count.  The MyTouch HD has been thoroughly leaked, It has been found out that T-Mobile will be showing off some Windows Phone 7 phones on October 11th, and now this!  Sure, this isn’t the big name in Android phones right now, but there is a target audience who want an Android phone and need something a little more rugged (mistakes happen, or maybe you camp?). Either way, the Motorola DEFY page is live for you to visit.  This phone is coming soon as well, so keep an eye out!

I know a million people will say this, but as a cliq owner I cannot trust motorola to update any phone for t mobile

  • Tmobile

    MOTO COULD KICK ROCKS!!!!

  • Mitch

Yes, John, exactly! I had the Cliq myself, and it’s been what, 6 months and 2.1 STILL isn’t out! Glad I’ve moved on!
I won’t go to Samsung either because of the Behold 2 debacle. At least most of the HTC phones are rootable and roms available on XDA! Good riddance… glad I’ve moved on from Moto. Who wants to buy a phone that won’t be upgraded!?!?!

  • tmoguy89

it has WiFi Calling !? nice!

  • LuvMyGreenRobot

It looks like the nicest Motorola phone T-Mobile has out right now.

    • Drew

yeah.. if a phone sucks .. it comes to tmo!

  • abdias

    This confirms wifi calling…

    • Trevor

Seems like Wifi calling may cost extra; there is an asterisk next to Wifi calling and on the bottom it says “Additional fees may apply”

      Very interesting

      • snoopyalien24

it could be because lets say you dont have a data plan – then you may be charged

      • ColoradoGray

It says that for both wifi calling and the wifi browsing. More likely it is the cover for the possibility of paying for the wifi access depending on location.

  • NiiDiddy

impressed with tmobile progrss….wow….nice!! keep ‘em coming! good for customers; good for business. still waiting for the “it” phone tho… :)

    • thaghost

+1…but i think the mytouch hd will be the “it” phone for tmo. too bad its looks plastic. ima get it anyway.

  • Fish

it’s now impossible for me to be impressed by motorola phones…

when i see them i wish sales fail…

    i’m a cliq owner

  • somebody

Motorola i dont care if this thing can give bjs i aint buying

  • Randall

According to Motorola’s pages on the Defy (http://developer.motorola.com/products/defy/ and http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/XW-EN/Consumer-Products-and-Services/Mobile-Phones/ci.MOTOROLA-DEFY-XW-EN.alt), this is going to debut with Android 2.1. Seriously, it’s not going to get 2.2 until mid-2011 and 3.0 never. Only buy if you’re OK with that sort of upgrade “cycle.”

  • mikeeeee

so glad i sold my cliqXT on ebay last week.

    this phone is so mikeeeee.

a cliqXT on steroids with 2.2 and UMA.

i loved mine and this one is even better.

loudest ring, great battery live, awesome signal grabber.

all you motowhiners are acting like children.

google software upgraded faster than the technology in the cliq.

ANDROIDS are the first wireless devices that ubiquitously upgraded by their choice and cost.

somebody will buy your old moto hardware, recover part of the cost and move on.

how would you like to have a behold2 in your pocket?

  • Dre

Lol I mean the G1 even ran 1.6 lol the cliq and cliq xt are the only phones out with 2 year old 1.5 ……motorola doesn’t care about tmobile customers…… Lol if ur not verizon…..forget it

    • me

any word on ‘begonia’ as of yet, tmonews?

      • David, Managing Editor

Yes we believe its the Cliq 2, there was an article a few days back on it…might want to do a quick search, wasn’t’ a whole lot of details but its more than we had the day prior.

  • Vibrant Guy

This is a great looking phone. Nice work T-Mobile.

  • JMTS80

Not interested in Motorola products after they abandoned me and all the other Cliq and Cliq XT owners!

  • alex

Its a shame to see how tmo gets treated by moto..why would tmo even allow themselves to do business with such an inferior manufacturer. Htc ftw….

  • ogopogo

Those looking to support Motorola should probably look at Motorola’s history for support, or lack thereof. They are even worse than Samsung. You have been warned.

  • Wilma Flintstone

    Any word on Screen Size?

  • mtnman

Gee, this comes with Android 2.2. Wonder if it will be upgraged to Gingerbread? The answer to that question and many other is HA HA HA HA!

  • joonyerr

    Water resistance……

  • Ivan

No way, as a burned Cliq XT owner will I ever buy another Motorola. I’ll stick with the MytouchHD. Motorola is foolish to lock down their phones so tightly, it just breeds resentment with the techie types who would otherwise back it. If Motorola is not careful they may get a rep as bad as AT&T.
