      no.

      • rykidingme

got proof? how you or anybody you know already unlocked one and put a at&t sim card?

        • Residenttroll

You don’t have to put a sim card to know, just look at what bands it supports. LOL DUH.

Go find out what bands this phone support, and see if any of those bands are any that At&t hspa+ uses.

        • Vinos9711

Troll it will work for art but you will only get edge on it

Every Tmobile mobile is compatible with AT&T.  You can get AT&T Edge with it unlocked.

      • Lfgonzal

i now it works on edge but i dont want to use my upgrade and have a phone that can not work with at&t if the merger goes through….

  • http://www.unscripted360.com Deacon

HTC phones are really not distinguishing themselves from one another as much as I’d like them too.  With the Android OS being the same throughout one 2.3.4 phone is really no better than another 2.3.4 phone.

The Amaze has a better camera .. ok but it’s really no mind blowing feature ahead of the Sensation 4G.

    • Anonymous

I agree with you, although I would consider it an upgrade from it. Just wondering… would you like to see as a distinguishing feature?

    • worst nightmare

Gotta agree with you on that i mean the features on here are really no different than the Mytouch 4G, although the phone will be much faster I guess that’s the biggest selling point….with all that said I still like it.

      • tm

The Amaze has much more than MT4g. much more memory than the Sensation also. makes a big difference

    • DFIREBALLWOW

so so so true glad someone agrees with me…

    • Anonymous

The Amaze is so much better then the Sensation, the Int memory alone is enough not to even mention the Amaze has a bump up in Ram which is a major plus and then you throw in the great camera, you are talking a much better phone. The looks are great and the build quality is 2nd to none. I like the idea of the 4.3 inch screen, Samsung GS2 has a 4.52, getting just a little too big to handle IMO. The Amaze is probably the best phone in the T-Mobile family, maybe better then the Samsung GS2. The GS2 is getting all the press because all the carriers have one, I have all the greatest phones that have been made including Verizon phones, The Amaze is the sleeper of the bunch, this phone is quality thru and thru.

I hope this doesn’t do the annoying “Loading-thing” when you use the web app after using it and press home it starts showing the loading process…i hate that, this due to low memory. I just hope that it doesn’t do that. I just saw how it took a little time to load a new scene or theme…..

not just using the web app, any other apps that you use, after using it starts to load your your home screen again……

You can correct the sense reloads by uninstalling apps that use alot of RAM.
HTC refuses to acknowledge this issue.
IMHO they know it is an issue but just let people keep exchanging for a better one.
When it happens on mine it is typically when the battery is on orange. If it happens prior to that I usually restart the phone and that ends the reload issue.

  • My Name Is…

We have our demo at the store and it is really nice. Have not gone crazy playing with it but from what I have tried it is fast and pretty impressive. I performed about 5 speed tests and not one under 11Mbps in San Jose, CA.
It is very similar to Sensation but with some added specs and features. Definitely a solid device.

  • My Name Is…

PS — the guy in this unboxing has a great “tv voice” haha… could see him doing commercials or Monday Night Football announcer haha

    • None

He was wrong about it being a “standard” usb cord in the box.

  • JBLMOBILEG1

I wouldn’t mind picking up this phone. It would be nice to have a decent camera at times because of convince and the fact that there always seems to be a picture moment when you don’t have a camera on you. True my current G2 camera does the job its still too slow when trying to take a quick picture. I downloaded an app to help with that but you lose quality and its not too great in low light. HTC makes quality built phones though that have a quality look and feel to them. So does anyone know how much this is going to cost?

Wish it was a little thinner and lighter otherwise nice phone.

  • Specialk Lee

how much will the Amaze 4G go for (UNLOCK)

    • DFIREBALLWOW

      I think $550.00

  • Meagan

Can any Tmobile reps who have it in their store, confirm whether WiFi Calling app is preinstalled or not?

    • ZuriHutchins

It has it but you have to use the new sim card and Wifi Calling is in the settings now and isn’t an app.

  • Which way is Up?

I’m looking forward to this device, it is really a close call with the GS2.  Does anyone know if the the Amaze is physically similar to the Sensation? Is it thicker?-sure looks that way, how much thicker though?

    • http://www.facebook.com/DeadPlasmaCell Dan Garcia

      According to the specs:

      Sensation : 4.96 x 2.57 x 0.4 in
      Amaze 4G  :  5.12 x 2.58 x 0.4 in

So it’s a little longer, and barely thicker it seems.  I can’t wait to pick mine up next week

      • Which way is Up?

Anks for the quick reply. I’ve contacted 2 local stores, no one has a demo or dummy on the floor :( I was surprised by my Sensation when I first got it. I found the ratio of the screen to make the phone longer than any other cell that I?e owned (I don’t like the extend “free” space down the bottom side of the Amaze). Phone looks good, can’t wait to see it in person.

It is kind of similar. The sensation has kind of a curved thing going on around the sides of the screen where as the Amaze is flat across the glass. It is just a tad bit thicker and a little bit heavier but, not really noticeable to me. The thickness is really minor when compared side to side (in person). I compared them both at a T-Mo store recently. The T-Mo store had a “live” Amaze demo on hand that I played with for a while and compared the reps Sensation to for size, rounded edges on the glass, etc.

Call your local store and ask if they have a “live” demo phone for the Amaze and go in and hold it/check it out for yourself. I like this phone a lot and I’m 99% sure I will purchase it…unless I wait until the Holiday season to see what’s out and perhaps get a better price on it.

It is almost the same as the sensation. It seems like it to me that the only thing that is better is the camera and that is it. Yes i know it has a bigger processor and can run at higher data speeds….

And don’t forget 1GB of RAM, instead of the Sensation’s 768MB of RAM.

        And the 16gb internal storage

And don’t forget it is capable of 42 Mbps downloads. That’s the MAIN thing about his phone. We care about specs, T-mobile cares about their network. ( and specs too)

    • jarjon76

It’s the Sensation with slight tweaks, nothing more.

  • Jaygqitalia

So my question is. Which phone is better for me to buy; The Amaze, Sensation, or the S2. In reality, its really comparing the first two to the S2

    • None

I do not see any point in the Sensation even being on the shelf after this released.  It is basicly Sensation+ which makes the original obsolete IMHO.

      • None

…and “never again samsung!” — Isn’t that what you were all saying not too long ago?

        • Jaygqitalia

Had Blackberry the past 3 years. Never had Samsung.

      • jarjon76

Not really. This has a few “upgrades” over the Sensation, but it’s basically the same phone. This is a nice phone, but it doesn’t stand out. This is another example of phones coming out too quickly and not offering anything of real substance.

        • Anonymous

I’d rather see new mobiles monthly, than wait a year+ for what a company has to offer.  What features are you waiting for?

    • JDTechlists

Believe Amaze has NFC – Not samsung

    • tm

Amaze has dual microphone. How is audio recording, on S2? Amaze has 540X960 (qhd) S2 does NOT ( it has 480×800).  That seems important to me. Is amaze video any better? Amaze is heavier.
S2 screen might be better (4.52 inch AMOLED) but the resolution is less so it might be less practical.

  • Riff Raff

    This is my next phone!!!!

  • jarjon76

Nice phone, but only a few slight “upgrades” from the Sensation. The phone itself looks more like the myt4g slide without the qwerty. Nothing that stands out for me.

Love the camera software features.  Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

  • John Hoang

between the amaze and the sensation, the biggest and only difference that should matter is the 42 Mb/s HSPA+

this and the s2 will be the first device that can take advantage of that network

now i can’t decide which one i want lol leaning towards the amaze bc everyone will have an s2 haha

The Amaze has 1GB ram and 16GB built in which is very powerful compared to previous phones and is matched by the SamS2. Front camera being 2GB I think, should be lots better for video calls. A very good upgrade from the sensation. Just looks on the surface similar, and display maybe same.
