There’s apparently a T-Mobile plan out there cheaper than anything listed on T-Mobile’s own site, and the only way to get it is by walking into a Walmart.
As reported by PhoneArena, the plan (dubbed Super Essentials Saver) started circulating on Reddit a few weeks back after a couple of people claiming to be Walmart employees mentioned it. It runs $25 a month with Autopay (or $30 without) for unlimited talk, text, and 5G data, undercutting T-Mobile’s standard entry-level prepaid option, Essentials Saver 2.0, which starts at $50. That’s a steep gap for what appears to be the same basic unlimited coverage.
The catch, and there’s always a catch with a deal this quiet, is that it’s reportedly restricted to new T-Mobile customers, and you have to sign up in person at a physical Walmart location. It’s not listed on T-Mobile’s website or Walmart’s, which is presumably why word only spread through employees talking on Reddit rather than any official marketing push.
It’s not clear whether this is a genuine, sanctioned promotion T-Mobile just hasn’t publicized, a regional test, or something closer to an internal pricing quirk that Walmart reps have been quietly extending to customers who ask the right questions. Either way, if you’re in the market for a new line and don’t mind a store visit, it might be worth asking a Walmart associate whether Super Essentials Saver is available near you.
There’s been no official confirmation from T-Mobile about the plan’s existence, terms, or how long it might stick around, so treat it as a good find rather than a guaranteed deal until T-Mobile says otherwise.
