Severe flash flooding is continuing to impact the Nepal-Tibet border region, and T-Mobile is stepping in with a temporary fee waiver aimed at customers who need to reach family in the affected area.
If you’re in the US, T-Mobile is waiving international and long-distance call and text charges to Nepal and China. If you’re a T-Mobile customer currently roaming in either country, calls, texts, and data roaming charges are being waived too. Both waivers cover August 26 through September 2, 2026, and they apply broadly across T-Mobile’s brand portfolio, meaning Postpaid, Prepaid, Metro, Assurance Wireless, Mint, and Ultra customers are all covered.
It’s a familiar move if you’ve followed T-Mobile’s response to disasters this year. The carrier has leaned on similar fee waivers and connectivity support during other emergencies, treating them as a fast, low-friction way to help without requiring customers to jump through hoops or file a claim.
The company says it’s continuing to monitor the situation and will share more updates as needed, with the latest information posted to its Emergency Response Hub and shared via the T-Mobile Newsroom’s X and Instagram accounts.
