After launching the Honor 8 in the US in the second half of 2016, Honor today kicked off 2017 by introducing another new handset.

The Honor 6X is an affordable Android smartphone with a metal body. It’ll be available for pre-order starting January 4 for $249 ahead of its launch on January 15. Honor will also be hosting flash sales on January 10, 17, 24, and 31 when the 6X will be available for $199.99.

In exchange for your hard-earned dollars, you’ll get a smartphone with a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display, octa-core Kirin 655 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a fingerprint reader. Powering this package is a 3,340mAh battery, and on the software side there’s Android 6.0 running below Honor’s custom EMUI 4.1 user interface.

One of the main features of the Honor 6X is its dual camera setup. There’s a regular 12-megapixel camera as well as a 2-megapixel camera that captures depth info. This second camera lets you do things like adjust the focus of a photo after it’s been taken. There’s also an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens for all of your selfie needs.

Finally, the Honor 6X includes support for GSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 900/1900/2100, and LTE bands 2/4/5/12/20/38. I’ve reached out to Honor to ask if the Honor 6X will support features like VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling on T-Mobile, but the company hasn’t responded as of this writing. Honor has shown support for T-Mo in the past, offering T-Mobile VoLTE on the Honor 8, so it’s possible that the Honor 6X will support one or both features. I’ll be sure to update you if I get a response from the company.
