Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge+ official, launching at T-Mobile August 21 [UPDATED]

UPDATE: I’ve reached out to T-Mobile and confirmed that it’ll offer the 64GB versions of the Note 5 and S6 edge+, too. Here’s how the pricing for the 64GB models will break down:

It’s finally here, folks. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is officially official, and it’s brought a friend with it.

As expected, the Galaxy Note 5 borrows from the design of the Galaxy S6, offering a metal frame and two slabs of glass that come together to create a more premium device than past Galaxy Note models. In the process of moving to a more premium build, though, the Galaxy Note 5 has lost the microSD slot that its predecessors offered. The Note 5 does include 32 or 64GB of storage, though, so you’ll have a couple of choices when deciding how much space you’ll need for all of your stuff.

Other specs for the Galaxy Note 5 include a 5.7-inch 2560×1440 Super AMOLED display and a 5-megapixel, f/1.9 camera on its face, and around back there’s a 16-megapixel shooter optical image stabilization and an f/1.9 aperture. Samsung’s also throwing in 4GB of RAM, a non-removable 3000mAh battery, Quick Charging, wireless charging, and Android 5.1 running beneath the company’s custom user interface.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ has largely the same spec list as the Galaxy Note 5, including a 5.7-inch 2560×1440 Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, and Android 5.1. And like the Note 5, the S6 edge+ also lacks a microSD slot and removable battery. What it does have, though, is the same dual curved edge display found on the Galaxy S6 edge.

When it comes to color options, T-Mobile says that it’ll offer the Note 5 in Black Sapphire and White Peal, while the Galaxy S6 edge+ will be rocking Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum duds.

Both the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ will launch in the US on August 21. T-Mobile says that its pricing for the Note 5 will be set at $0 down, 23 payments of $29.17, and one payment of $29.08 ($699.99 full retail), while the S6 edge+ will cost $0 down, 23 payments of $32.50, and one payment of $32.49 ($779.99 full retail). However, if you buy one of the phones with JUMP! On Demand before September 30, you can get special pricing: the Note 5 will be $0 down and $25 per month, while the S6 edge+ will be $0 down and $28.50 per month, each with an 18-month lease.

But wait, the offers don’t end there! If you pre-register for either the Note 5 or S6 edge+ before 11:59 pm PT on August 20 and purchase before September 30, T-Mobile will give you one year of Netflix for free. That means that you’ll have a full year of content to stream on these phones’ huge, high-res screens.

So now that they’re officially here, are any of you planning on picking up the Note 5 or S6 edge+?
