(Updated) House Republicans Kick and Scream over DOJ suit, Run to Obama

Update: A Bloomberg report indicates that AT&T has given close to close to $963,000 to lawmakers through donations that are supportive of AT&T’s bid for T-Mobile. All but 1 of the 100 lawmakers attached to this Republican letter have received donations.

“AT&T’s congressional support for its takeover of T-Mobile comes at a price,” Gigi Sohn, president of Public Knowledge, a merger opponent, said in an e-mailed statement.

Among the cries of “no,” some are still chanting “yes” to the potential merger between AT&T and T-Mobile.  This time, the House Republicans sent a letter, with 100 representative signatures, to President Barack Obama complaining about the DoJ’s suit against the merger.  Led by Pete Olson, of Texas, the letter simply repeats the benefits that AT&T has beaten into the ground.  In other words, some people actually think AT&T’s original case was effective.
