Tonight’s Giants-Dodgers Friday Night Baseball broadcast is getting an assist from T-Mobile Private 5G in two very different ways at once, and it’s also the last Friday Night Baseball game of the season.
According to T-Mobile, one dedicated 5G private network at Dodger Stadium will connect eight iPhone 18 Pro cameras into Apple TV’s broadcast in real time, enabling new live camera perspectives from around the ballpark.
A separate private 5G network at the same stadium is simultaneously powering MLB’s Automatic Ball-Strike system, the same connectivity T-Mobile has provided all season across all 29 US ballparks for one of baseball’s biggest recent rule changes.
It’s a good snapshot of how T-Mobile’s sports partnerships have evolved: Apple and MLB are using the same underlying network technology for very different jobs, one shaping what fans see on screen and the other feeding the real-time decisions that happen on the field.
With this marking the final Friday Night Baseball broadcast of the season, it’s a fitting bookend for how visible, and valuable, T-Mobile’s private 5G work has become across live sports.
