Android 5.0 for T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z3 finally enters testing

After what seems like months of silence – and the fear of abandonment – the Z3 has moved one step closer to getting its long-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Only this morning, we checked the software updates page on T-Mobile’s support site and didn’t see any change in the Z3’s progress. But just a few hours later, one of our readers checked again and saw that it is now officially in “T-Mobile Testing” … [read full article]

T-Mobile quietly discontinues Sony Xperia Z3

Sony just can’t seem to catch a break in the mobile market. Whether it’s because people are no longer excited by the brand, or because of its lack of marketing, the company’s attempts at competing in the mobile industry are a far cry from days gone by. And its presence in the U.S. just took another major hit. T-Mobile confirmed on Twitter last night that it no longer sells the Sony Xperia Z3. … [read full article]

T-Mobile to carry 32GB Xperia Z3, device gets official press pics

Sony’s Mobile device web page has been updated recently to include the T-Mobile version of its Xperia Z3. And if the listing is accurate, it would seem that T-Mo will be selling the 32GB model, not the 16GB one. In the listed specifications it states “Up to 32GB flash memory*****”. Now, I’m always cynical when I see the words “up to” and a collection of asterisks in a phrase. It normally means “less than” … [read full article]

48 hours with the Sony Xperia Z3 – First Impressions

One of the most curious aspects of today’s Android market is how Sony hasn’t quite managed to crack it. For the past few years it’s unveiled a series of fantastic phones, and yet – for one reason or another – they don’t catch on. Could it be lack of effort in marketing? Low interest from the major U.S. carriers? Lack of ambition? Perhaps a mixture of all three and then some. And yet, … [read full article]
