T-Mobile sells Walmart Family Mobile to TracFone

Walmart Family Mobile launched as a prepaid mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) using T-Mobile’s network way back in 2010. Now, six years later, it’s got a new owner. TracFone Acquires T-Mobile MVNO Simple Mobile

America Movil’s U.S. based MVNO, TracFone has announced the purchase of T-Mobile MVNO Simple Mobile for an undisclosed amount. TracFone is the nation’s largest MVNO with around 20.1 million subscribers, Simple Mobile counts 1 million subscribers. Tracfone To Launch Handset On T-Mobile’s HSPA+ Network?

TraceFone’s Straight Talk service will soon see a high-end Android smartphone running on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network. According to BTIG Analyst Walter Piecyk, Straight Talk will launch the LG Optimus 2x later this month supporting T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network.
