Frankly stated, the T-Mobile Tap is among the worst phones I have ever had the displeasure of using. There really is little positive to say about this device and, while I can’t say I’m truthfully surprised, I was hoping to come up with at least one thing that I actually liked about this phone. All I can think of is the form factor. What appears at first glance to be a copycat of the Samsung Highlight actually comes off being exactly that.

Not a whole lot of fanfare surrounding the release of the T-Mobile Tap, but as a “smart” dumbphone it fits nicely between the traditional phone and the Android lead T-Mobile smartphone lineup. Coming in at $79.99 it’s a perfect little stocking stuffer this holiday season. Touchscreen, 3G and a 2.0 megapixel camera — what more could you ask for in a phone that won’t break the bank? If you want to take a closer look at this little prize, jump over to our gallery and scope it all out from the comfort of your own home. When we first heard about the T-Mobile Tap we didn’t give it a passing thought, billed as just another “smart” dumbphone. These pictures, however, show a little more under the hood than we originally thought as the device looks to imitate smartphone charm without the smartphone muscle. With html browsing courtesy of web2go, GPS and a 2 megapixel camera the T-Mobile Tap looks perfectly suited for the individual looking for something eye catching and yet, simple. Look for it to drop November 11th. Check out the images in the gallery and voice your thoughts on the Tap in the comments!

Well with all the Project Dark news going on, questions have surrounded what handsets we might be seeing? One of the more anticipated devices is the Samsung Behold II, the very first Android powered phone from Samsung and T-Mobile USA. Dropping in that AMOLED touch-screen for better viewing angles, along with Samsung’s “exclusive cube menu” system giving you quick access to all the features you care about most. Combined with user customizable home screens, support for both WiFi and 3G networks, the Behold II is certainly an Android offering worth considering this holiday season. Expected to hit the street November 18th, we hope T-Mobile, combined with its rumored Project Dark offerings will be making a serious marketing push showing off the nation’s largest Android selection. Combine this launch, Project Dark, Black Friday and the rest of the Holiday season and we know that T-Mobile has a winning combination shaping up here.

While we have seen most of the phones listed for availability by the
holiday season, two of the phones were new to us (but its not like we couldn’t imagine what they looked like). First up, the
T-Mobile Tap is a low end touch screen with GPS, stereo Bluetooth, a 2 megapixel camera (with video) and a berry or midnight blue outer shell. The
Nokia 3711 (another lower end phone) has a concealed external display, GPS with Nokia Maps built-in, 2 megapixel camera, and a “sable” finish. Oh, and both of these phones offer up 3G connectivity. These cost efficient phones are expected by the end of the year to help round out the low end. Leave your thoughts in the comments!

This holiday season, T-Mobile will have something for everyone, or at least that is what it seems when you look at their upcoming handsets for the coming months. You should already know the Cliq by now (if not, then you need to come out from under that rock more often) and we have already shown you the Android powered Behold II. T-Mobile also has another Android phone in the pipelines, a special edition MyTouch made with Fender (yes, the guitar company). This phone will sport a 3.5mm headset jack (finally!), pre-installed 16GB microSD card with exclusive pre-loaded video and audio clips by iconic musicians, and it may even have a nice wood finish. More information on these offerings and a couple of more phones after the break. Leave your thoughts in the comments!
